CONGRATULATIONS ON ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS. I WORKED FOR A COMPANY IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA AS OPERATIONS MANAGER OVER MANUFACTURING, SALES AND WAREHOUSES ACROSS THE USA. THEY LEASED ME A NEW 450SLC IN 1974 FROM BEVERLY HILLS MERCEDES. I LOVED THAT CAR AND MY 2ND MERCEDES. YEARS LATER ON MY OWN I BOUGHT A '79 SLC AND DROVE THAT FOR SEVERAL YEARS. NOW I OWN 8 MERCEDES AND AM WORKING ON THEM/DRIVING THEM AS A HOBBY. KEEP UP THA GREAT WORK!
A 350 SLC with a MANUAL transmission! What a rare find! You have the BEST taste. I really like your European velour upholstery. Very few American-market Mercedes had that kind of upholstery! That's more comfortable than the leather or MB-Tex seats I usually sat in. Beautiful restoration work! I hope you enjoy that long road trip you're planning. Having driven in Europe for many years, I think you'll enjoy yourself. Have a safe journey.
Nice to see a younger guy being interested in renovating old Mercs. I have -71 SL with manual so not so far apart. Wish you all the best with your project.
Really great job. Promise me, you’ll take your dad and the neighbor who helped you out to dinner. Good to hear you say your car will never be driven in the rain again. My 560 SL will never see fog and rain is out of the question. We like to say in California the people get old but the cars stay the same.
I am glad you liked it! And it is not like crazy known and sort after model, so I think that makes it even cooler, it is more like: if you know you know. 😁 More videos about the car coming really soon!
Congratulations to you I have a 380 SL but the US model 1983. I’m just starting to really like it again and drive it every single day kudos to you. I can’t believe you did all that it’s a labor of love awesome
Outstanding work! So young but yet so intelligent. Car looks like new. I have a 75 450 SLC and do all the work so far by myself. So much fun to drive and all the positive comments. I wish you the best.
Congratulations! Excellent work and amazing commitment! It is a gorgeous car and im sure the toad trip will be a fond memory. Im also an R107 owner in the USA (AZ) and yes, great car to own!
Respect to you, that's some serious man hours and work you've put in there along with your friend. Love it when old Mercs are saved. Because these have the fixed roof I guess they probably have a more serene/quieter ride with no scuttle shake, a nice cosseted place to be. To be fair the car looked pretty nice before you started but who'd have thought the rear panel was all fillered up. How will you prevent it from getting wet on your tour around Europe? I always wanted the 300SL but even a rusty example was out of reach when I was 17, .....perhaps one day maybe! Can't wait to hear you start her up. 👍😎
Thank you! I have also done pretty extensive work in the sound insulation so it should be a quite nice and quiet inside the car. 😁 To prevent it from getting wet around our trip I have no idea apart from looking at the forecast. It will not be the end of the world since all of the seals are new etc. but still I would really like to keep it in dry conditions.😄🤷🏽♂️
Wow, that was awesome! I am excited for you. It's a great project. My appreciation for the SLC has grown and I think it is because I am looking at the Euro (original) version. I a OK with the American Bumpers and sealed beam headlights on the SL, but not the SLC. Did you modify the wheel or tire size at all? Also, I recommend you become familiar with Pierre Hedary. He is a walking encyclopedia in the classic Mercedes community you can learn a lot from him. I know I have. He helped influence my decision on my SL roadster this month. Here is one of his video presentations: ruclips.net/video/dTXEEG-IFWU/видео.html I love the black exterior and the aluminum wheels are awesome! Looking forward to seeing the next episode. Good job!!
The SLC is the most redundant model to come from the 80s it's not a convertible but it looks the same on a slightly longer wheelbase. Usually only weirdos like these cars🤷🏽♂️ congrats but the SEC is a better car for the money
@@lassip_ idk what the market is where you live, prob across the pond. But here in the US, the SEC is King of the coupes. As far as Mercedes stuff goes..
Bloody hell what a sower bastard you are This is his car and he put his hart and sole in to it and good on him. In my country right now Yong men sit around drinking doing drugs and playing on there phones It's wonderful to see this guy working. Hard making his dreams come true bonding with his family and learning about hard work dedication patience and lots of new skills. Your comments is moronic.

Thank you so much! I love the spec of the car so much, green over tan interior and manual gearbox. What else could you ask for 🤷🏽♂️

Great job! Congrats. This is most probably not your last project 😄 now that you know what it takes. Doing projects is a life style for some
Yeah, and it is most definitely not the only ongoing project car I have at the moment!😂
Excellent! Glad to see you appreciate these old Mercs. I have a '73 450SL. Such great cars.

That paint finish it truly superb. The person/s who prepared and painted the car really are expert.👍😁

Did you convert single road chain to double? I have just replaced mine on 560sl, tensioner and rails were ''kaput"...
Wonderful job. Excellent attention to high standards. Great car for you to take thru your life.
Thank you! I think so too😊

The small scew on the ECU is for adjustment of the CO level for emissions, right? You could buy a chinese CO tester and adjust it by yourself.
Very nice man! Although as a new owner of a very rusty 280ce it makes me nervous of the amount of effort and expense I'm going to have to put in.
Haha hope it will be better than mine 😁👍🏼
I will join to your road trip next summer!
Carshopping soon?🤔
you are a lagend
good work son

I used magnets to hold down my rubber door sills while the glue dried
That was the best comment I have ever recieved!😂 Thats a REALLY GOOD idea!🤯

Do you attend car auction

6000km seems to be about 2000€ in fuel. Good luck with that. Otherwse, car looks btter than factory
Haha yeah I allready have a co driver to split the cost. I would say worth it for the once in a lifetime experience. 😄 Thank you, I am trying my best!

I guess that I just have a soft spot for all big coupe cars 😂 SEC is a really sweet ride as well!
