THEY LEASED ME A NEW 450SLC IN 1974 FROM BEVERLY HILLS MERCEDES. I LOVED THAT CAR AND MY 2ND MERCEDES. YEARS LATER ON MY OWN I BOUGHT A '79 SLC AND DROVE THAT FOR SEVERAL YEARS. NOW I OWN 8 MERCEDES AND AM WORKING ON THEM/DRIVING THEM AS A HOBBY. KEEP UP THA GREAT WORK!

This was great. I need to send this to my Mercedes Tech here in the States. But check your jack stands. I would see about reinforcing something. I saw a video on YT where a guy made wood supports from 2X4's as a backup. If I can find it I will send it to you. Kudos on the fenders. One recommendation is to coat all of the screw heads with the rust protector. Oh, and the background music is awesome! It's my kind of dance music. Can't wait for the trip to start. Wow, that was awesome! I am excited for you. It's a great project. My appreciation for the SLC has grown and I think it is because I am looking at the Euro (original) version. I a OK with the American Bumpers and sealed beam headlights on the SL, but not the SLC. Did you modify the wheel or tire size at all? Also, I recommend you become familiar with Pierre Hedary. He is a walking encyclopedia in the classic Mercedes community you can learn a lot from him. I know I have. He helped influence my decision on my SL roadster this month. The small scew on the ECU is for adjustment of the CO level for emissions, right? You could buy a chinese CO tester and adjust it by yourself.

Really great job. Promise me, you’ll take your dad and the neighbor who helped you out to dinner. Good to hear you say your car will never be driven in the rain again. My 560 SL will never see fog and rain is out of the question. We like to say in California the people get old but the cars stay the same.
