Matt Walker is one of the most underrated drummers of the 90's, it' so sad he doesn't get more appreciation and credit which he TOTALLY deserves, ntm - he also played with The Smashing Pumpkins for a brief stint in the late 90's (around 1996-1997) as well 🤘😈🔥🥁
Easily in my top 10 favourite energetic and aggressive performances I have ever heard and seen. For the last 10 years, I just keep coming back to this performance.
@@jaffajames2556 each they're own, I think it's best live version I've ever heard of "under." Plus he's in a arm sling? Then the whole irony of beautiful people walking to this song? Fucking one most artistic things ever.
Defenitely the best line up. What a drive and energy. Saw them a couple of years ago in Amsterdam and it was just not the same. But in shape and with this line up one of the best live bands around. Raw power
I saw them in 96 at the opera house in toronto. I was right up at the stage. Hands down it was the best concert ive ever been too. The venue, the crowd, the energy and the sound were incredible.
I really don’t know who’s playing that bass but man I get ready to get fckn WILD when he starts getting pumped. That bass riff just makes you feel bad ass
First time I heard this Song was back in 1995...My Radio could pick up stations from Corpus Christi and I was listening to C-101.. This happened to play and I recorded it...
I seen them in Winston Salem NC at a lil club called Ziggy's it was killer, then I seen them again later that year loudest band ever played live gud ol' days
This is the best example of why you want to give all on stage....what a preformance...what a song. If i need a break from work wtf the reason is....this gives me energy to go back in there. Thx for sharing.
Saw them in 95 when I was a teen right before they blew up and they were an unknown opening for White Zombie. He had a cast on. He sat during the performance. He talked shit to the crowd, the town, security, everyone. Threatened to leave like 4 times because we didn't "appreciate" him. People kept booing. Screaming for WZ to come on...he was pissed. I left thinking, man...I think I like them better the White Zombie...the rest is history.
Despite being a one-man band of sorts, Richard owes a lot to these guys... Without Brian Liesegang, Geno Lenardo, Frank Cavanagh, Matt Walker and Steven Gillis, Filter wouldn't be so impressive live as they were on Short Bus and Title of Record eras... Amazing performance...
This is one of those songs where the aggression and groove make it AMAZING and not necessarily the complexity and/or number of notes in the track. 🤘😃😜🔥 🐲🦘This is PURE proof that ya don't need a million notes to make/record/perform a KILLER rock/metal song. 🤙💯☝️😎😈
ppl refering to Under at a victorias secret show where his armsling says "i met cindy and got a broken arm " or something like that elastica played at the show too good version of Under too
Like NIN they were all over the place with sound, I think that hurt them. I think they had a step up on NIN on the heavier rock like sound that they should have leaned more into
The early live Filter shows were phenomenal. Just incredible energy. This was the best lineup by far.
GODDAMN!!! that drummer is amazing.
ComatoseFly Matt Walker is so under rated.
a beast

Check out Filter live on MTV fashionably Loud 1996. Doing "under." It's even better

@@jasonpeters9865 agree. it's also the absurdity of their crazed performance as a backdrop to a very polished catwalk parade in front.
Why was he in a body sling
This is amazing. Sounds exactly like the studio recoding. Raw talent right here.
Sounds far better.
Fuck yea

I got empty point to make.
Short Bus one top25 greatest rock albums ever

4:30 Winning jump. Original love for music. The way they played this song proves that.

I meet Richard and Geno in 2000. After they're show.
Band was never the same after Liesegang left.
Yeah, this live lineup was arguably better than the studio stuff. They are phenomenal.

"Filter is a live band"
Indeed.
This show was opening for Smashing Pumpkins on the Mellon Collie tour. This is the show where the teen girl was trampled to death during SP's set.
arte
Agreed.

This FUCKING song! \m/ \m/

that's how Henry Rollins picked up that pose on stage

How did Filter not end up at least as popular as NIN? Patrick is hands down a better vocalist and they write pretty hard tracks too.
Like NIN they were all over the place with sound, I think that hurt them. I think they had a step up on NIN on the heavier rock like sound that they should have leaned more into
Where did they go ?
Anyone know what year this is from?
probably 1996ish
So fu-c-k ing cool you tube is good for some shit. Metal going on here.
