I appreciate your videos as they are literally a perfume digital encyclopedia for people who are deeper than wanting the "10 compliment getters" and would like to know specifics
Awesome to hear your feedback on this. It will probably be a few months until these new bottles arrive to portugal, but i have to test this. Btw are the prices for the Deserts Collection the same?
anotherFragranceReviewer the old collection was much more expensive so the change make them much cheaper. They were almost 300 for 75ml and now will be 140 for 120ml. Should be a similar price cut in your country. Songe is my favorite Guerlain so if you have yet to try I’m sure a new bottle is in your near future. Once/if mine finishes I will get the new. This is very nice for those that do not already own them. I will be picking up Encens.
Love santal royal myself ,but i definetly agree with you on our appreciation of fragrances. We smell them like a blood hound on a trail , dig our noses into them and never let up. i think that can definetly hurt our appreciation of scents , in reality how often do we smell a fragrance like that? Maybe if we're cuddling with someone but other than that we appreciate them from a little further away. I wonder if we do ourselves a disservice doing that? Top quality video as always 🙏
Pure quality again, You and Kristo are outstanding! I really like the way you dissect fragrances very interesting! I will look at these fragrances differently now..
I first smelled Songe D'Un Bois D'Ete on a male sales associate when I was at the Guerlain day spa at the Waldorf in NYC. I was immediately drawn to it and just love it. I tell people that I love smelling like Benediction after a Catholic Mass.
Rich Mitch it had depth, was dark skanky and mysterious and didn’t smell like the top 20 shelf at Sephora. His outfit was sophisticated, nice blazer pants and shoes.
@@usmellsgood i think context (situation, time, place and clothes) and skin chemistry have a lot to do with how a fragrance comes across. If he was wearing jeans and a hoodie he wouldn't have made the same impression imo. For scents like oud palao, oud ispahan and santal royal i think they are best suited to restaurant and "dress up" occasions. I have been meaning to recommend a rose fragrance to you recently and that is Sisley's Eau Du Soir. It is very nice, they don't advertise (so they tell me) but I'd recommend a sample at least to you
@@usmellsgood I've had a 'mare here, I meant to say Soir du orient by Sisley sorry, here's the fragrantica page www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Sisley/Soir-d-rient-30354.html
Last week, I picked a bottle of Guerlain Bois Mystérieux, and is fantastic, long lasting on my skin, and everybody ask me what I'm wearing 😁🔥 Spice, Woody, Amber is awesome 😍
I appreciated your comment about getting so caught up in trying to discern individual notes that you forget the joy of wearing a great fragrance. It's something I'm trying to keep in mind as I scramble to accumulate experience and expand my scent palate. Never forget the joy of getting lost in a scent!
Great review a new subscriber and a 🌷👌🏻 Am 25 years old and am facinated with bois mysterioux do you recommend that I wear this fragrance regarding my age, I heard some people are saying that this fragrance is for 40years old+ . I really enjoy it
For me it is a little bit confusing all these ,,reformulations", new packagings, new names, new collections. I mean Guerlain inspired me a stable brand, with this and this perfume and that's it. From some years, really it is confusing and some how annoying. My subscribers ask me about these new packaging for Idylle, Samsara etc, why they are all the same, where is the iconic Samsara or l'Instant bottle. I look forward to try the Bois Mysterieux...
I couldn't agree more with you and that was taken into account. I could open 2 brand new bottles of any perfume next to each other and they could smell slightly different. But again, this is something that all enthusiasts should know instead of crying out "REFORMULATION" like most of the dumb fucks do.
The “Persian”, never knew who, he was luring in...He would have appreciated it. Haa, MyMickers, coincidently uploaded about Oud Palao just before your mention. Eugene, stay warm!
If you dislike most woody amber notes, you better avoid Dawn from Frederic Malle. I just sampled that a few days ago and its mostly a woody amber dominant scent. Nicolai Parfum uses woody amber material as support in her orientals, but i thought that was one house that manipulates this material well. She somehow keeps the amber under control (most of the time anyways).
Thank you, been waiting on u to chime in & can’t wait for you to let us know about Encens, that being said I’m going on a Encens & Songe haul, gonna try to find as many of the older line bottles as possible.Be blessed 🙏🏾
Another strange move by Guerlain. I tried the Encens Mythique one and honestly there's no difference to the original. But now they are much cheaper. So were they overpriced to begin with? I guess it's all good for the consumer. Tempted to buy Oud Essentiel. Nice video as usual.
cool. i was waiting for this video.:) the Absolus d'Orient collection is more widely available here in europe than the other exclusives. thank god they didn't ruin the scent. now i can finally try and maybe buy it. also more juice for less money. did you buy Encens Mythique too?
The thing about Santal Royal is this, ho: it's a voyage. It starts off unbearable, then it gets bearable an hour into it...and finally, it's all like breathtaking and shit. Maybe that Wasser knew what the f*** he was doing. Just maybe,
What do these do for retail or at the boutique? I saw 1 or 2 of them on fragrancebuy.ca 🤔 I know santal royal was one and they were selling it for like $150 I think wasn't sure if thats a decent deal or not.
$215 for the older ones (Santal Royal, Ambre Eternal, Oud Essential, Musc Noble) and $221 for the new releases ( BOIS MYSTÉRIEUX and Encens Mythique) @125ml, I haven't looked around for discount though but they are sometimes available.

Stumbled upon this yesterday at The Bay out here in Richmond, BC and loved it; subsequently found your video. Subbed!
I have tried the repackaged version. I am however glad I have a bottle of Songe. I still like those bottles.
The nature of sillage and context. Was he smartly dressed?

Too much studying can lead to snobbery, which i am proud of but i also pay for it with expensive taste, always appreciate your comments, Arnold.

hello, if you are torn between the two, would you prefer Guerlain L Homme Ideal EDP or Guerlain Bois Mysterieux EDP, for men?
I love your style man, you are the best! Keep making your videos.
Just ordered both a couple days ago, can’t wait. How’s the new Encens?
Encens is truly fantastic I can't wait to hear tour thoughts.

Eugene have you tried Eau D'Hermes?
Yes, its a timeless masterpiece. Please get your nose on it.
I didn't get on with BM, I can't believe the cream, scratchy, nausea inducing synthetics in the base would be in Songe (which I have never smelt)
