    Nice! Sideboard isn't a very popular topic, but sooo important. I'm never too sure how to approach sb options. I copy deck lists from the internet, but SB feel more personal, specially in timeless where the meta is so diverse.

    Great stuff dude. I do mostly play B01 but I’d like to get more serious about it so this is perfect.

    Just got to your analysis about Path Of Peril, and I think you're missing something about the card.
    Assuming you play Rakdos Scam or Mono Black Scam, this card has at least few major upsides when comparing to Toxic Deluge.
    1. You don't want to lose life in these reanimate decks, especially the aggressive Rakdos ones which don't play Sheoldred.
    2. Your scammed creatures have low toughness. They are a liability if you play Toxic Deluge. But with Path To Peril, it's a one sided wrath against Boros Energy except Phlage or Lurrus, depending on the build. It's also a clean answer to most of the Dimir threats like Frog. It's basically always great against Lurrus decks and aggro decks which you don't want to pay life against.
    I found that with the right matchup and timing, this finishes the game just as easily as Blood Moon sometimes does(I LOVE BLOOD MOON!).
    Will continue watching the video later today. Great content. I just got back to Arena after a year of not playing and I love Timeless.

    for the enchantment/artifact section, wrath of the skies/temporary lockdown/divine purge should be included. Divine purge exiles artifact lands!

    Sheoldred's Edict vs Sudden Edict - besides counterspells, you can also flash in a creature like Orcish Bowmasters. It's really meta dependent, like you're saying about all the cards.
    In the current meta, I'm only using Sheoldred's Edict in my Mono Black deck to answer Planewalkers or big dumb things like Athraxa, when opposing deck doesn't play other creatures.
    I guess if people go back to playing more protection spells, like the Feather decks did for example, Sudden Edict will be perfect.

    Hi, i am not in agreeal with your assessment of why fury is better than solitude in the sb. I think the card advantage vs disadvantage argument is basically irrelevant and the reasons fury is better in the side is because of the following 3 reasons:
    1) solitude is replaceable by swords to plows, fury is unique.
    If you need instant unconditional creature exile in the side, you will put 4 swords before your first solitude in any scenario. Closest thing to fury is the 3 mana red 3-dmg sweepers, that can't really replace fury - they hit your board, don't hit planeswalkers, can't kill a 4 toughness creature, etc.
    2) if your deck wants solitude, it will already maindeck it, you play ephemerate/reanimate scam? you maindeck it. You play UWX control with one ring? you maindeck it. You play omnath money pile? you maindeck it. You play an Abzan creature-combo deck that needs some interaction post-side? you play 4 swords in the side.
    On the other hand, fury makes indeed sense as a sideboard card to counter boros/creature decks. You can side it in boros/mardu energy mirrors, you can have it in combo deck sideboards for creature matchups. Hell, you can have it in any heavy red deck side for creature matchups
    3) fury is dead against more matchups than solitude: control (solitude can hit phlage), reanimator, show and tell (at least solitude can hit atraxa if they don't have omni) - and maybe others. This makes it better as a sb card than solitude - you can maindeck solitude better than fury. Do you really want to maindeck fury in your boros energy deck? no, but you might want a few in the side as a mirror breaker
    Obviously the above reasoning does not include any blink/reanimate scam decks, because they both get maindecked in all the versions playing their colors.
    TLDR. yes, fury is a way better sb card than solitude (I would argue solitude should NEVER be in any sb, making it an F in your scale), but the reason fury is better has nothing to do with card advantage. We might argue that fury is a better card as a whole because of the card advantage argument, but then oko being a better card than tormod's crypt means that oko is a better sb card?

    Another thing that pushes brotherhoods end is the fact that it hits planswalker and Amani starts (and usually stays) at 3

    Veil of Summer?

  • @toast_recon

    I'm so much bigger on vexing bauble than deafening silence - if you're not playing amped raptor it's a no-brainer imo even if you're white.
    Can't get force of vigored for free which is huge. Unfortunately can get abrupt decayed same turn unlike defeaning silence, so there's a bit of a meta call there

  • @empathyforinsects

    The Stone Brain is actually extremely strong in Ugin's Labyrinth decks, it's almost always a turn 2 take your best card out your deck and it comes down on turn 1 so it's hard to interact since you have a small window. No Veil of Summer against control decks? Rest in Peace is also kind of slow for premium graveyard hate considering one of the best graveyard decks is Arclight Phoenix and they combo turn 1/2, same with reanimate decks, but you probably have swords to combat those decks. I would probably move Rest in Peace to A tier

      Oh dang veil of summer was in my notes, I forgot about it. Veil is a really solid choice, probably A tier. And good points all around.

    Cast into fire is a major upgrade to abrade, exile is a big deal vs lurrus etc and lets it answer the 1ring. The damage mode of the cards goes back and forth for what is more valuable but killing 2 X/1s with cast into fire feels more useful rn vs energy.

      Not much reason to play Path To Exile when you already have access to Swords to Plowshares, Fragment Reality, Prismatic Ending, Solitude, Leyline Binding, and all of the very high quality white mass-removal. The card isn't horrendous, you just don't need it when you can play 4 copies of any of these other white cards.

    Why does energy decks don't play all 4 copies of swords to plowshers in the main deck?

    • @KoraeTimeless
      @KoraeTimeless  Месяц назад +2

      Energy decks want to consistently draw as many creatures as possible to get consistent kills. When you're already running 4 galvanic discharge and 2+ static prisons, adding all 4 swords to plowshares increases the chance of you getting a hand like "swords, discharge, static prison, amulet, land, land, land" which is way too slow against the fast unfair decks of the format.

    ok, I'm before watching this tutorial, but would you be able to give example of ready to go sideboard considering present meta in timeless, what whould you stick in your 15 slot sideboard now?

    • @KoraeTimeless
      @KoraeTimeless  25 дней назад +1

      Sideboard vary a lot from deck to deck based on that deck's good and bad matchups, so I can't give a single example of 15 cards that would always work. For specific examples, you can watch any of my gameplay videos, I always go over the deckbuilding and sideboard at the beginning.
