Great to see U got the Oval oriented correctly, I've seen bike shops put the meat of the ring aligned with the crank are, never realizing they want the power where the chain is pulling on the cassette 90 degrees further back. That looks like a great course for a hardtail that would save you a lot of weight, plus oval really shine when you get out of the saddle.
Thx for the feedback and comments really appreciate it. Yes this course would actually be very nice on a hardtail. Would love to give it a shot on one to be honest. Definitely felt that power transfer and I was able to get up to speed so much quicker and maintain that speed after. Also I was riding my suspension in the open position at all time and went to firm and OMG what a difference, feels like the actual power you put on the pedals is been used to move you forward so much more efficiently so I definitely agree with your hardtail recommendation.
Regarding you feeling like the bike is "twitchy" and the handlebars are narrow. I notice you put your hands really inward on the grips. That's really going to affect your handling and make it feel more twitchy. Not sure how wide your bars are (normal XC are 720-740mm), but they don't look too narrow. My pinky fingers are right end of the bars. I'd recommend moving your hands out to the edge, adjust your brakes and shifter over as well. This should give you a lot more of control.
That is a great point man thanks. I’ll give it a shot for sure next time. I’m probably use to doing that from my motocross bike I guess. Never actually thought about it.
Thanks for the comment. Honestly I’m so new to the sport and there is so much im still learning myself that that’s not something I have ever considered to be honest. But it might be something I look in to in the future I would love too.
@@DennisGonzalez101 okay. Let me know. Happy to be an experiment for you. I got BWR Arizona in the books for next year so looking for some accountability/structure. Keep me posted👍
@@Brwnrice thx really appreciate that. In trying to do some of the lifetime GP also. So far I’m in SBT and waiting to hear back from Leadville and hopefully unbound 🤞.
I couldn’t really tell you to be honest I can only compare to my old tires with my not so extensive mtb skills 😂 but I definitely like them. But good to know. Thanks for the feedback 🤙🏽🙏.

You’re not wrong on that one 😂. I had a lot of people tell me the same thing 😂. I will next time no worries 😂.
Just started running maxxis aspens a few weeks back. So far, so good! 💯👌
That’s awesome man. That was my first ride on them and I loved them as well. Can’t wait to get back out and put more miles on them 🤙🏽.
Great video baby, the mtb trails are entertaining to watch
Thanks 😊.

Congrats on the PR! Would be scary to see you on an actual XC bike! Merry Christmas to you and your family
Thank you and for you as well 🙏. Hopefully soon I’ll give one a shot 😂🤙🏽.
Caloosahatchi?? Fun trail. Haven’t been there in a few years.
Yeah it is man. Fun fast trails for sure.
Sir whats your handlebar lenght? Thanks and cheers!
Whatever the standard size is, I’ve never cut it down or anything.

Hey Dennis, thanks for the video. when you changed your chainring to 34t, did you have to adjust derailleur set up or just replacing chain is fine?
Actually neither. I still have the same chain and rear derailleur was fine also.
How's the aspen when cornering?
They feel very very good. Way better than the stock bontrager. Now I’m using 2.2 icons as well on my xc bike and they feel amazing as well.
Do you do offer any coaching?
