    Thank you for this video. There's a lot that tell you how to take them apart but none on how to put them all back together. Especially the entire thing a-z. I need to replace my middle and top body and this is the only video that shows that. Thank again.

    You should do disassembly walk thrus on as many drones as possible. These videos are absolutely fun to watch. I’m a geek to the core and love taking things apart and improving on them if possible or if nothing else to just understand the tech involved. You are meticulous and that’s what it takes. Very well done!!

    Just had my first crash the other day. Camera arrived, changed it out and now I’m having main controller data error? I can’t calibrate but I can see video, gimbal won’t move😩 I’m still watching, this is the best video EVER when it comes to knowledge of the Mavic. I don’t know but while watching this it makes me feel like a Doctor because I’m most definitely gone disassemble mine and replace what part need be👍

    excellent video. thanks for posting. I have experience messing with RC fixed wing motors and servos ect.. I also fix some guitars. one thing I learned is to take lots of camera phone photos of my projects so I can know how to put stuff back.... also use lots of padding to protect things- a towel is good. and little containers for screws.

    I have Mavic 2 pro and have a poor HD signal "no HD signal". At a distance of 30-40 meters, it's gone, and I don't have video anymore. Tried different locations and it's the same. Did all updates with on improvement.
    DJI lab said it's corrosion "Red moisture stickers" or "moisture stickers Red"... (Not sure how to translate it), and "corrosion on the boards", and they can't repair it.
    I'd be very happy to have your opinion. Can't corrosion be cleaned? I guess the corrosion is on some connectors?.....
    Hope it's not the end for this drone.... Many thanks, Raz.

    • @DaltonDroneZone
      @DaltonDroneZone  Год назад

      DJI has white stickers on the main board and other components that turn red when exposed to water. They will not repair a drone and will not honor a warranty in that situation. If you can prove the drone went for a swim because of a fault and not pilot error by providing flight logs, than they might be able to help you out.

    I agree with everybody else is an excellent video I want question is buying all the parts and spending the time fixing it at the end was it worth it cost wise could you give me a roundabout on replacement parts that you bought

    • @DaltonDroneZone
      @DaltonDroneZone  5 лет назад +2

      Thank you.
      Middle frame and upper canopy $25
      Lower heat sink cover (which was bent) $20
      Front axis hinge $13
      Front vision position sensors $38
      Cooling fan $15
      Camera/gimbal ribbon cable $12
      I think that's about it. If their's anything additonal that I forgot it's minor and of little cost. The lower mainboard would've been costly to replace as well as the camera/gimbal. The upper ESC board is not as costly but luckily they were all good. The camera just needed a ribbon cable. It was a good rebuilding experience and I hope I can help other folks by producing this video.

    You may notice that the plate on the arm spring unit has two holes. Instead of using pliers to try to lever the plate against the plastic, just put the needle-nosed pliers into the two holes and twist, then push down - much easier. Note also that any silicon used on wires needs to be non-acid cured, not the sort commonly used for household applications that gives off a characteristic vinegar, acetic acid smell. Or use liquid electrical tape, applied with a small brush, or even hot glue.

  • @xray364

    Excellent video. Found it interesting how easily you were able to unsolder the wires and resolver. I tried to unsolder the hind leg today to replace it and had heaps of trouble melting the solder. Was using just a cheap 60 watt solder without variable temperature. Do you think the soldering iron wasn’t hot enough. Eventually I did manage to unsolder the wires after a lot of trouble. When the solder melted it melted easily. But unfortunately, I could not for the life of me mange to solder the new leads back on. Once again, I couldn’t get the solder that remained on the board to melt and solder the wire into it. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance

    • @DaltonDroneZone
      @DaltonDroneZone  4 года назад +1

      Thanks. Yes, get a better soldering iron or at least replace the tip with a fresh one. Here's a little tip, flow a little of your own solder on to the connections first. The factory solder melts at a slightly higher temp. Mixing with your own solder will help.

    • @xray364
      @xray364 4 года назад +1

      Dalton Drone and Discovery Zone Thanks. Both tips worked. Found another old soldering iron that had no problems with the solder. I also used the tip about adding my folder and that worked a treat. Threw that old solder iron out. I had no idea it was faulty but just couldn’t get hot enough.

    Excellent video. I’ve used this video many times for different repairs. But I’m stuck on one that maybe you could help me with. I’ve been rebuilding a drowned mavic. I cleaned the boards up recently well and everything works fine but I cannot pair the controller. The is no working red/green led on the side of the mavic to be able to pair the controller. Have swapped out another core board from where the led/remote module sits. Same problem with both boards. I’ve changed over the 3 core board ribbons, again no change. I’ve swapped out the gimbal board into which w of the core ribbons attach to, but same issue. The only thing left is to swap out another esc board but I don’t have a spare. So I need to work out where the RC module is getting its power from. Any ideas?

    Thanks for talking through this rebuild. I can't get the RC to connect to the drone after having water damage. It's unusual because it will connect 1:50 tries. I think I need to replace the component that deals with the RC and the WiFi. Do you think that would all be encompassed on the WiFi board? Any thoughts on what you may have learned by fixing your?

    • @DaltonDroneZone
      @DaltonDroneZone  5 лет назад +1

      That's tough! I would normally not consider a water damaged Mavic Pro a good candidate for rebuild because of the widespread damage to the camera and electronics that can occur. If it was salt water, even it it was submersed for a short period of time, just write it off and replace. If it was submersed in fresh water, take it apart first and try to blow all water out with compressed air. You can try replacing the WiFi module at the back of the quad but if that doesn't fix it, it's the main board under the heat sink and they're expensive.

    • @brenleyransome8212
      @brenleyransome8212 5 лет назад

      @@DaltonDroneZone Thanks for the quick response. It was fresh water, and it on the fence about replacing verse repairing. It just frustrates me because it has connected after the fact. It makes me feel like it's something that can be repaired prior to replacing parts. Everything works fine other than the unknown of connecting to the remote.
      I've tried using other components to the control board such as the USB port for firmware updates and that also doen't seem to work either (or the Assistant 2 app isn't working).

    • @DaltonDroneZone
      @DaltonDroneZone  5 лет назад

      Use a hex bit screw driver, don't remember the size. If you get a kit of different size small hex screwdrivers you should be covered. You will need small phillips head screwdrivers also.

    I have the Mavic Pro and did a minor crash. Restarted it after new props and camera stopped working. Said gimbal over heating. I then replaced the gimbal and then I replaced the camera pc sensor board. None of these things worked so I'm running out of parts to replace. Any thoughts on what might be the problem as I now get a sensor error?

    • @xpane
      @xpane 5 лет назад

      I had to replace the ribbon at first because the gimbal would go crazy. After replacing the ribbon, the gimbal would calibrate alright but no video.

    • @DaltonDroneZone
      @DaltonDroneZone  5 лет назад +1

      It can be frustrating just throwing parts at it in hopes of hitting on replacing the correct part. Be cautious of replacing parts with used but supposedly "working" parts. I've been down that road and it ended with failure some of the time. I would say to replace the camera control board but you already did that as long as it isn't defective. DJI's repair centers did have to replace a lot of those control boards due to problems right out of the box. I have to believe a number of these boards found there way into the market as working replacements. If you have a front sensor error, reconnect the ribbon cables where they connect to the camera board. If that doesn't work, replace the senors. If the error is related to the bottom sensors than unfortunately the main core board underneath the heat sink may need to be replaced and these are expensive. Recheck all internal cables and connections of which there are quite a few in the Mavic Pro. Consider returning the replacement parts if they are defective if you can.

    • @DaltonDroneZone

      Make sure all of the screws are removed including the ones under the plastic tabs that cover the front hinges. Other than that, just pry until until they pop. If some tabs/hooks break, no big deal, it’ll still hold together on assembly because of all of the screws used.

    • @DaltonDroneZone
      @DaltonDroneZone  3 года назад +1

      I don't have a solder station with variable temp iron. I will be getting one soon. I use a 25 watt iron for smaller solder points like the LED connections and a 40 watt for larger connections like the motor PCB connections. DJI solder seems to melt at a slightly higher temp so adding a little of your own solder first helps it to melt. I recommend removing as much of the old solder that you can and using fresh solder with fresh flux for a cleaner connection.
