Point 7 only applies to the late teen idols and adult idols as young teens and children won’t understand the ramifications of idol culture until it’s far to late, multiple idols who have debuted at young ages like Boa who debuted at 13 (the queen of kpop) have talked about how it ruined their childhood and there really needs to be age limits for auditioning and debuting

13 & 14 are what I personally would heavily vouch for towards many many ppl out there in the Kpop universe 🙂

    "Fan wars are unnecessary"
Fan wars are stupid, actually. Competition is fine, we all want our idols to get the #1 spot, but once it comes to actual insults and bullying you've gone too far. If you don't like an idol just don't go to that corner of the internet. It's literally that easy.

    I'm so early :o
Anyway, I wanted to say i agree with almost every opinion here. Especially with the first 3 or 4. I dislike how the brand deals and side activities of the idols are so prominent. Like, I don't care you are an ambassador, announce a comeback instead 😭 I understand that being an ambassador brings in money and side activities helps an idol stay relevant but god help me, it doesn't deserve the attention we give it.
I also especially agree about how the music is rarely discussed. It frustrates me endlessly when I happen to hear a good song with a great video and I open the comment section: I'm looking for people that talk about what they like about the melody, about the different verses, what's the meaning of the song and maybe what the storyline of the video. But it's always some generic prize, "4 vocalist, 4 rappers, 4 dancers", comments from solo stans and so on. I think this is part of the streaming culture problem because people are more worried about the video's views than the actual art offered to them. I would prefer my faves to have less views on their video but their fandom to actively discuss and appreciate the music and thought put into it.

A couple of these points made me squirm a little:
The nct point was uncomfortable because the same thing can be applied to triples...i personally have no issue with a large group, but understand many do.
The other is about the cd's and merch...as a collector, these items hold a great deal of importance to me and i have not yet given up on physical media.
All else, I'm totally on board with😅

All the opinions posted here are not new. I do kinda disagree with Opnion #2 though. I myself don't go and spend my hard earned money on Albums and Merch, but if the fans really want their favs to survive, then it is necessary to buy albums, Physical or Digital, and attend concerts, because these groups and the Companies they are under are doing this mainly to make money. If the Idol Groups don't make money, the company will sooner or later have no need for them. Making money is the key to survival in the industry.
