Awesome review! I agree that the slight deviations from the book are good. Even before the show got announced, I thought of ways how Percy Jackson could be improved if it was ever remade, so its nice to see the creators actually doing said improvements! I am excited to see your review on episode 5!

I like that they got the "brain child" out of the way. Rick Riordan spent a few years with people screaming that he doesn't understand Athena's Virgin status,it was in the 4th book.

Honestly at first I was kind of disappointed with the episode because things went by way too fast and the way that the chimaera is introduced kind of happened but now looking back at it this episode was probably the best episode of the series because the changes in this version didn't dramatically impact the story because it happened the same way in the book and I love the added characterization of Annabeth and her relationship with Luke and Thalia and the beginning flashback with Percy and his mom and also and I think most people don't realize this about the trauma that Annabeth has from past and how she never felt loved or cared for by anyone or felt like people valued her and Luke and Thalia provided that and then Thalia died and Luke eventually becomes evil then we have Percy who had a present parental figure in his life in his mom who actually was there for him and cared about him and also nurture him as the reason why he is the way he is is because of his mom and he comes along and shows Annabeth that's it,s okay to let those around you care about you and not be in your own head sometimes and also how she feels about her mom because it shows the gods callous actions were they only care about their kids when it makes then proud and I absolutely love that they're building up the resentment that Percy has towards Poseidon earlier in this version and I feel like they're building it up to where once he meets him in Olympus , he's going to distance himself from his dad for the majority of the series and then Poseidon is going to have to earn Percy's trust and admiration again and honestly that's a better change from the books imo and also THE CENTUARS ATTENTION TO DETAIL LES GOOO 💯💯💯💯💯💯
Overall a good episode and my score for it actually I think it's probably a 8/10
