- After many weeks trying to catch that big perch that I'm still looking for, I decided to take the heavy pike gear out and try to land a big river pike!
This spot is normally good for us and the chances of catching a good fish are always there, even in the tough and cold winter.
Half way through the session I got a big bite, but what happened next was really UNEXPECTED.... stay tuned!!

Had my PB river pike from that spot man on savage gear cannibal shad in colour blue/silver, right next to that tree.....im going out now on canal after Perch near 'Big Lock' pub in Middlewich. That Berkley Zilla Flanker looks a good lure and that was a catch, it was in the net 👍 that River has been tough since the floods man‼️💯
Yeah mam, this spot can produce on a good day, but as you said after the floods was never the same 🫤 I'm still struggling with perch, I might try that spot one of these days then 😁 I don't know where the big lock pub is mate, drop me a DM on Instagram then if you don't mind! Yeah that zilla is good, and I'm not amthe biggest fan of hard baits to be honest.

The way my buddies and I do it is if you don’t get a hand on the fish it doesn’t count as a catch . You’re a better man than me , I would’ve Spartan Kicked the net guy into the water lol
That's how I feel about it, if I don't hold the fish for a second doesn't quite feel like a catch 😅 still happy I managed to make it bite though. Haha sh*t happens I guess, next time we need to take the net out of the water as soon as the fish is landed 😅

@@zombiebitefishing sadly I remember fish I lost from 10 years ago lol and a bluefish from 28 years ago ( monster bluefish)
@Oldbasshole wow!! Bluefish get quite big, I'm not sure around here, but we have them in Portugal. People have been catching a few good ones recently! I never caught one though.
