Baby boomer here. This music is a little before my time, but I enjoy it just the same. I really appreciate the great voices and harmony from the ladies and the band is wonderful as well!
Here too. We did have a real great time during the 80s or especially here in Germany with the "Neue deutsche Welle" but this music ist really timeless...
Supposing I had had a bad day, all I would need to do is come here in the evening. Soothing, invigorating display of true musical talent. Just for the taking. Just unbelievable.
Luscious harmony! Very well done. The Andrew Sisters set the pace for such intricate harmonies that is quite perfect for the female voice ranges. I love barbershop quartets for men's voices, but this "big band" sounds is best suited for the feminine range, and these singers flat-out nail it! Feelin' it and Diggin' it!
Wow, I just stumbled across this video, six years after it was posted. You know, back when I was living in L.A. County (Whittier, actually), from '97 to '04, I took up swing-dance lessons -- there was swing-dance craze at the time, and I'd always loved the music. There was a dance hall at the old Odd Fellows Temple in downtown Whittier where Pete Jacobs' Wartime Radio Revue played on a regular basis. I really think this band and the Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra were really the best local bands that were part of that scene -- and I'm glad to be reminded of them by this outstanding number. A quick glance at the Internet shows me the band is still going strong. Glad to see it!
I sure do love listening to music like this. I was born in 58 and I can remember listening to radio reruns of the Andrews sisters when they would sing. I always loved the sound of their voices. And these ladies here sure do have those old time songs down pat.
Something I've noticed in all their videos, everyone in the band looks like they're having a great time. Nobody looks like they're working. That makes a big difference in how a band sounds. If you love what you're doing, it comes across and the audience picks up on it. As I write this I've been playing guitar for over 58 years and playing big band and other jazz over 20 years. I can tell anyone it's hard to sound this good and make it look easy.
Great listening! Love all the gals out front and ALWAYS love the sound of a professional big band like this one. Reminds me of my youth listening to this swing music.
I’m astounded by their talent. I mean obviously they are beautiful and great singers and players but technically speaking they’re absolutely BRILLIANT. Top of their respective fields in every conceivable way. True musical heavy weights. As an amateur singer and musician for many years I am in awe.
I like these young ladies and of course the band too. I got one celebrity autograph in my life and it is from Dawn Wells/Mary Ann. These ladies got it and I like it! They make me feel good because I like the music and they sing it with heart.
they are more than comparable to the Andrews Sisters. . . . I respect them because they sing with the image of keeping the Andrews girls' memory alive. And set a reputation for themselves in the new age, keeping this music swinging !
My dad served in the Pacific theater at the end of WWII. I was born in 1954 in upper Manhattan (Hudson Hgts.). My dad had many albums from the well known big bands, jazz bands and a few others like the Chad Mitchell Trio
Che bello ascoltare le vostre performance, siete bravissime. Io sono un musicista e suono in diverse big bands, il vostro repertorio è splendido. GRANDI!!!!
Usually the imitators of the Andrews Sisters fall very far from the originals. But these three chicks really do a great job on this song. The band ditto.
They seem to have 'family voice' like the Mcguire's, Lennons, Boswell's, and yes the Andrew Sisters. Yet they are probably not sisters. I think their magic is in keeping their tone mellow with a few necessary exceptions. Anyway you are quite right, the Wartime Radio Review can hold their own with any swing group from any time period.
@@buddyroeginocchio9105 I have a very long connection to The Royal Navy UK and Met. Police, London. I'm glad someone's trying to keep swing music alive. It's too good to let fade away. Great harmony and choreography on the part of the ladies.
It's an lmprovment on what they call music today, u can understand the words.
Beautiful women vocalists, and lots of talented musicians!

Just what I needed to hear! 😃😃😃
I have watched so much Pete Jacobs videos that I’m starting to get recommendations for both Jayme’s and Heather’s RUclips channels. Lol
Wanted to hear somebody sing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", and now I've been on this channel for an hour. So nice.
Absolutely love this group, perfect!!!.
