Bojan, despite the fact that I'm Orthodox, I pray the Rosary for my wife who was a life long Roman Catholic...bless her departed soul
Oh my goodness that is beautiful im a Catholjc and I have a few prayer ropes :)
That is a beautiful thing to do for your wife.👏👏👏👍
May her memory be eternal.🙏✝️☦️
Find this very touching it has truly bought tears to my eyes, May God bless you both x
this was probably the most beautifle thing i have ever heard. God bless you and may he have mercy on your wife
Well i think theres a prayer that kind of the same as The Jesus Prayer:
“O my Jesus, Forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy”
We were told this by Our Lady Of Fatima and were told to pray this after the Glory Be...
Its quite interesting to be fair...
My parish priest gave me a blessing to use the rosary. I’m glad to see that other Orthodox Christians use it as well. Yes, it is very difficult to say an Our Father while talking, hahahah.
The rosary is Orthodox. The prayer rope was formed by St. Pachomius in the fourth century. From there the rosary developed, some say as early as the eighth century. It is said that even centuries later St. Seraphim of Sarov (1754-1833) used it to pray to the Virgin Theotokos. In the thirteenth century, Roman Catholics started using in the West following its discovery by Dominic de Guzmán, a Spanish priest.
@@Herr_Flick_of_ze_Gestapo The rosary goes all the way back to the beginning of Christianity. The jews used 150 beads to say the Psalms. The beads were used by the first Christians to meditate on the events in the lives of Jesus + his mother.
Before the name "Rosary" came into common use it was called " the little bible in your hand".
@@Herr_Flick_of_ze_Gestapothe rosary is a later invention. Although the prayer rope developed by St Anthony the Great was used for the Jesus Prayer. While somebody else in here references the Celtic Pater Noster Cord used to recite the 150 Psalms
This is why we have a rosary - not to lose the track of our prayer. I just always hold the place on the rosary where I currently am with my finger or smth
What is smth?
@@alexk48 something
Fun fact:
The Akathist hymn to the Theotokos and the Office of Paraclisis is considered equal to the rosary and both grant a Plenary indulgence according to Saint Pope John Paul II and Pope Paul VI.
You would be a great priest!
Oh I disagree on this so much! :D
I hope you feel better soon.
What a beautiful rosary!
I've seen them all over Europe, mass produced but still pretty :-)
i definitely need a prayer rope or rosary beads to keep track of my prayers. im using bracelets for now 😭

Thanks Bukinio! :-) Already feeling better!
@@BanterWithBojan Great to hear!
@@BanterWithBojan Hope you are already feeling better Bojan. Could you please ask this Godly Puppyman guy to stop? Cheers
@@BanterWithBojanreally good to hear brother in chrtist, i was really worried for you when i heard your voice
I pray the rosary daily, but I also recently added the Jesus prayer to my daily prayers using the rosary
What are your opinions on Scapulars, Miraculous medals, Saint Benedict Medallions, and other Catholic sacramentals?
I know the question wasn’t for me but I personally find them superstitious and wouldn’t wear them.
Nice video Bojan! I bet you feel better from 5 years ago, so I shoud add that in the western tradition we have the invocation of The Most Holy Name, widely propagated in the middle ages by Saint Bernardino of Siena. It’s the unceasingly invocation of the Name of Jesus under the mental concentration on the Cristogram in its latin form: Ihs. It is another thing different than the Marian Rosary, with different goals. With the Rosary we mean to obtain grace by the intercession of the Holy Theotokos, despite we are miserable sinners. With the invocation of the Name we mean to adhere actively on the Name of our Savior. I pray to God that I did not be unjust in my brief explanation, so may Our Lord drive satan away from the one who wrote this and who is reading. Both Rosary and The Name invocation are blessed means of grace and work in a complementary way, not exclusive
what do you think of the Assyrian church
Since I’m a catholic and I don’t have access to a komboskini or prayer rope. I use my rosary that a friend of mine gave me as a gift to pray the Jesus prayer. Is that okay right Bojan?
Yup! :-)
What are your opinions on the other chaplets of the Catholic Church? Like the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Chaplet of Saint Michael the Archangel, and other chapelts.
I pray your health improves 🙏📿
Thank you so much, Marcus! :-)
Bible Illustrated Hands you’re welcome brother. I hope your response means that you’re feeling better. hang in there buddy.
Get well soon, Bojan!
Thanks, Alexander! :-)
We hope you feel better soon.
I bought a lestovka recently. Now I just have to learn how to use it lol
Just say Jesus prayer B-)
That's a beautiful rosary! Have you had the Benedict medals exorcised yet?
What are your thoughts on the Chaplet of Divine Mercy (also prayed on a rosary)?
I didn't get them exorcised - I never bless icons and holy objects (I think this is against the Acts of the Seventh Ecumenical Council).
Will share opinion on the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy :-)
@Godly Puppyman It is quite simple. One of the major arguments of iconoclasts was that icons aren't holy because there was no service for their blessing; iconodules, on the other hand, claimed (rightly) that they aren't blessed because their blessing comes from the ones depicted on them (Christ and saints). Water can be used for different purposes, oil and wine too. However, icons are only used in worship. I never bless my icons, I just take them to the church and leave them in the altar for a day as my way of thanking the Lord for them. Blessing icons is basically saying that they can be used for a purpose other than worship.
Also, rite of blessing of icons is a rather late development, and an unfortunate one at that, not taking into account the Acta of the Ecumenical Council.
Um, no. Russian services are generally HEAVILY influenced by Catholic service books. One of the major reasons I'm not a fan of ROCOR. 'Keeping things as traditional as possible' wouldn't be a bad thing if that 'tradition' was predominantly Orthodox in the first place. One of my friends jokingly referred to ROCOR as SSPX without Filioque and Pius
Well... yeah. Not to mention that the organizaton of the Russian Church is very popish, with Patriarch having the right to veto episcopal candidates.
Old Rome? 😂
Hi Bojan. Get well. You mentioned Medjugorje. That's a name I haven't heard in a while. What is the opinion of what the happenings there nowadays, both in terms of how the Orthodox view it and within the ex-Yugoslav states?
God Bless.
Will answer eventually :-)
For a while I'd pray the rosary while biking to uni. You keep track by counting on your fingers and start every decade with which number it is. It can be done, but not while having conversations like the Jesus prayer.
Since having two kids, I pray almost exclusively on my fingers. Almost every rosary I own has been broken.
@@carissstewart3211 did you have wood-and-rope rosary or chain rosary? Which were better?
Dominicans (Order of Preachers.) Are they good or bad?
Nice
Thanks!
I learned the Ave Maria in Slavonic differently. It starts out as Bogoroditse
There is an Orthodox version of this recorded from St. Serpahim. It's just not as popular among Orthodox.
I've heard many people say that the Rosary uses imaginative prayer which is condemned in orthodoxy, so it isn't a good idea to use it.
Don’t use imagination. Orthodox West website has a good tutorial on the rosary
@@FaithfulComforter meditating on the mysteries isn't a traditional orthodox prayer and is falsely attributed to Saint Seraphim of Sarov. Stick to your orthodox prayers.
@@Tobby1923 Yeah, the prayer is from St Seraphim Zvezdinsky. It’s Western Rite Orthodox, so no I will continue :).
@@FaithfulComforter it’s falsely attributed to Saint Seraphim and there is no direct evidence or proof to show that it is. Almost every orthodox priest will agree with what I just said
I also do not believe in Medjugore, because the bishops say it is without merit. Unfortunately, my mother believes in it. I would also like to hear an Orthodox's take on Medjugore and other Marian apparitions- as well as the sorts of followers they attract. (Looking at you, Fatima. )
I will make a video on Marian apparitions, with a special throwback at Međugorje. :D
Genghis Pikeman, were you an evangelical before you entered Orthodoxy?
@@HolyKhaaaaan
I'm late 😅
He was born to a non practicing Serbian Orthodox family
I pray the rosary but I avoid the devotions and instead say the "Axion Estin" prayer
:) thanks
Prayer Rule of the Theotokos = Western Rosary
Can't. Just can't.
