This duck is very appreciative for this video as toxic shame and disregulation have been significant reasons for why it’s unable to fly. Watching other ducks take off into the skies while it wallows from below has been chipping away at its spirit for decades. Your video has given this duck comfort, and the hope to keep trying. Quack!

Hey Mash, I hope good things come your way. While I don't know your story, I hope you know that you are worth the effort it takes to challenge old thought systems and habits that don't serve you.
      Also fantastic name! 😄

This is genuinely one of the most comforting, helpful videos I've ever watched, and I've been stuck in this shame-procrastination cycle for years so I have watched SO many self help videos. This is just perfect. The combo of ASMR, insight, and comfort means I actually can rewatch this whenever I need it and know it'll make me feel better. Thank you so much for the effort of researching and making this video. You're a special soul

I needed this one, too. I did something recently to hurt the one person I love the most in my life, and now we're in no contact for some time. I only hurt them because of trauma I have clouding my ability to both trust them and myself, and my struggles with black-and-white thinking. But in all of my fear and fight-or-flight mode, I ended up doing something I regret. Now, I've realized that not only did I betray them, but I also betrayed myself. I betrayed my own values, my own beliefs about healthy behavior, my firm belief in treating everyone I love with unconditional respect, even in the absence of love--or the fear of loving. I'm trying to grow as much and as fast as I can while also staying grounded and not moving through it properly. I'm in a crisis and have been for months, but I'm trying. I'm doing, rather. And I know that this guilt is often turning into shame, which keeps me stuck--it doesn't help me move forward.

Hey, that really sucks that happened. There are many layers to what you are going through. I'm glad this video helps you and I hope you find great knowledge on RUclips put out by people more knowledgeable than myself to help you on your journey! Can't rush the process which is one of the toughest parts. Keep on trying, progress isn't linear especially with a journey of healing

      @@Stubbie_Nuggie Hey Stubbie,
Just wanted to say thank you for being so open and sharing your story with me. That's alot to happen in a short amount of time. And I'm glad a family has found you that loves you and that I hope you can see as part of your support network and love back.
While obviously past experience affects us, it doesn't define us and we are not in a rigid state of existence or mental state.
So while I haven't lived your experience; I have my own and know that after facing extended hard times a more conscious and hands on degree of existing is required to change patterns and maintain a positive cycle in life. So while being intentional and present with your life is much more intensive than passively existing, it is every bit worth it.
I hope you try as many different things as possible, fail fast, as that is the only way to find out what brings you joy and what you want to chase in life.
Take care and keep on keeping on 👑🦆

      Hey B,
I think you may be conflating my use of a teleprompter with laziness.
I do use a teleprompter on my long form dialogue heavy videos, hense the eye movement. But does that detract from the intended purpose of this video which is to try and help people? As you watched it I assume that was you were seeking, correct me if I'm wrong.
This script I built out from notes I've made from reading: the body keeps the score by Bessel van der Kolk, Recovery from Complex PTSD, codependency and anxious attachment by Liam Hoffman (both great resources if this video wasn't your cup of tea), my personal reflection on the topics, and several papers and videos specifically on the topic of CPTSD, procrastination, anxiety, and complex shame.
If you have any tips on how to research, write an engaging, digestable script, and memorize a 45 minute presentation on a complex discussion every week or so and maintain a busy life I would genuinely love to hear them.
      Take care
