Ijust this minute met his son,..told me to check this out as he also invented the pedal string guitar..and had his Dads tattooed on his body...incredible song..
Heard this on Caroline a few weeks ago-one of their broadcasts via Manx Radio Isle of Man. What a wonderful song-and so well sung AND PRODUCED!! The legend lives on!!!
Whouston Wells was my uncles brother my dad used to play his songs when I was tiny long before I became a fan of joe Meek only just found out Whouston was produced by Joe
It was a Houston Wells original, not a Jim Reeves cover. I was in touch with Houston (Andrew Smith) in later years and he told me the song had been 'very good to him'.
Last time I heard this was way back in the 60's & always loved, but never knew who sang it. I'm so pleased to have found it at last.
Great memories from my childhood.
sadly he died a few weeks ago, he was my dad. rip houston
