I’m the third very fortunate owner of a very mint white 86 M635. NZ new. ACS body kit and wheels, Dinan breathed on M88. NZ did get 20 new with a good number heading overseas over the years. Great to see prices increasingly reflecting how great these cars are. By the way my OBC works fine :)
Wow...One of the best and complete review of the M635CSi I have ever seen. You guys did your homework...Totally agree this is a legend. and absolutely nothing to do with the US market M6 e24....The M635CSi is the ONE to own.
Enjoyed the review chaps. I'm a little biased as the M635csi is one of my faves. I'm fortunate enough to have one in my garage. The steering play can be fixed with a nice aftermarket re-enforcing bracket, and with a few subtle changes to the alignment geometry, and some shock tower braces, it handles like a champ. Love the 80's and 90's Bmw's in general. Driver involvement was priority, and they go better than the power and torque levels suggest.
Awesome video guys! Just bought a 1989 635CS1 highline motorsport edition (not to be confused with an M6!). Run-out model for the UK market. Very rare, only 181 RHD examples. Couldn't quite run to an M6, silly prices over here now. Keep up the good work, cheers from a very miserable and chilly Otford, Kent, UK.
Welcome back gentlemen. What a relief to have a new review from you both! The 635 is from a time when BMW (and Merc) built things properly, they didn’t synthesise engine sound through the car stereo, the styling was ‘less is more’ and the weight was under control. If this is the dollar for dollar alternative to the modern BMW I’ll take this one please. Looking forward to the next drive!
Yes you’re right, there’s something very special about driving a car such as the 635CSI these days - no urgency, just enjoyment. Cayman GT4 coming up next.
Yes, no shortage of interesting cars. What we lack at the moment is consistent good weather and time to coordinate amongst our 'real' jobs. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a hundred or a thousand times the number of views and this could be a real job!
@@inCARnationAustralia I would certainly vote for that if I could (more views so you can devote more time). You have to be one of the top few car channels and I am not just saying that. On the weather, I have to think your weather is better than the UK at the moment! Best of luck.
A bit late to the party, but I approve of the review, nicely done lads ! They feel a bit soft driven hard, but on the grip limit they are very forgiving, at least in standard trim.
great to see you both again. we missed you guys! Every time I see this car I think of the TV show Moonlighting with Bruce Willis. Anyone else remembers that show and the BMW? then someone decided he should do this to it. ruclips.net/video/ZjOr-UEQcaI/видео.html
Nice review boyz, even a non-M e24 is a nice machine.
Yes indeed

Thanks..
I watched that clip, sad end for a cool car!
No, you cannot call the 635CSI an M6: with 6 full-throttle-body injectors, the M6 was a beast.
Here is my beloved e24. Have owned it 27 years and made it a turbo about 15 years ago now. ruclips.net/video/fWVoGsr0cgo/видео.html
