    I am an absolute beginner. My team at work purchased the Sony a6000 and the TT350 Godox for Sony and I am now responsible for capturing photos at events. Thanks for this awesome tutorial! Super helpful.

    I wish the Sony A7III had a mini pop up flash. A lot of people hate on them but I never minded having one on my older cameras.

    I was a wedding photographer for over 30 years and I carried several flashes. I always said I had back ups for my back ups. At the time I was using Nikon cameras and we used Nikon flashes SB 800 and they were work horse flashes. Never a problem. But at a wedding anything can go wrong. I am retired and have just bought the Sony a6400 and this looks like a nice little flash if I need a flash and the price is great. Those SB 800 were over 300.00 each when I bought them. When I did groups at weddings I had two umbrellas one on each side of me with the SB 800 on full power set to manual. Didn’t use the ttl as we found it not to be reliable all the time. When we did candid shots we did use ttl then.

      Nice! Yeah the 6000 series is just not built for weddings, but, some of its features work great for it. I do also suggest having backups of the backups! Live and learn!

    • @shanespafford8283
      @shanespafford8283 5 лет назад +8

      hikyletaggart You know If I were still doing weddings I wouldn’t be afraid to use an a6000 or my a6400. Those Nikons were aps-c cameras too. D200 and D300. Those two cameras were only 10 megapixel. We had the best lenses for those cameras and also did some large prints from them. I still have the D200 but don’t use it much because the a6400 is my favorite now!

    great video, thanks.
    This happened to me also, from that point onwards I used only 2 or 4 battery flashes. also, the Godox Lithium battery swelled and I had to hammer it out of there.
    not touching any lithioum-powered flashes ever again.

    Godox is reliable. I have the tt350s and tt685s and they rock solid. Recently did an event and no issues other than just keep batteries handy as they will take about 250 shots and then need to be replaced.

      When you place the flash to the hot shoe, and secure it, that’s the connection. It’s an interface so the camera should detect the flash is connected. Then, ensure the flash is in TTL mode so it’s in the “auto” mode. You should see the flash logo on the screen. Let me know if this helps.

I am not a pro with this stuff but I do like to take pictures at any occasion I get invited lol, I be waiting on your answer keep up the great videos my amigo! 👍🏽👍🏽

      Yes my name is Kyle lol. “Hi 👋🏻 Kyle Taggart”. Do you mean you want a flash on top, but also a way to have a monitor attached to your camera? And you’re having an issue because there is only one mount?

    Should this flash be enough for wedding event photography ?

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  4 года назад

      Small venues, not big open spaces or far distances. This plus an external flash would be fine, but by itself it’s a little underpowered. I’d go the level above this one if it were the only light/flash you’ll use.

    Thanks for this video Kyle. I’ve had this flash in my wishlist for over a year now but just always unsure if I really need a flash. A friend has an engagement party coming up and asked me to take photos. Now I’m wondering should I get the Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens (my dream lens) or just get the flash now (cheaper option) and use my kit lens.....

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  5 лет назад +2

      If you’re taking photos and getting paid, I’d get the prime lens and the flash. You’ll be blown Away by the results. You said party, if it’s at night, it’s going to be very difficult with the kit lens, unless you’ve practiced in similar lighting.

    • @rianapienaar2090
      @rianapienaar2090 5 лет назад

      Thanks for your reply. It’s daytime but indoors. Not getting paid lol, trying to find a used Sigma to save some $$. By the way, what lens did you use with the flash in this video?

    i just bought my and i find it it hard to remove it like I have to use force to do so and im afraid that i might break it. Is it the same for your camera? I have 6400.

      there is a way to loosen / tighten it. Or you mean just in general?

      @@kyletaggart in general, ya I did try to lose it all the way up before removing it but still find it a lil bit struggle to do so. Idk if it is because this is the first time I use on camera flash for 6400 ?

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  4 года назад

      Possibly. Mine is tight. I just did it on another camera, and it’s right as well. I think it’s just tight by design.

    Well if it's the battery compartment that is INOP, I don't think whether rechargeable/batteries would matter. Definitely might want to have a backup when shooting paid gigs.
    I grabbed my Godox TT350S plus a X1T-S for under $100 on Ebay. I eventually will get the pro trigger and the V860iiS for when I go FF.

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  5 лет назад

      Yeah, has to be the compartment. Gonna try to clean it, if that doesn’t work I’m out of ideas! And agreed, always have a backup! We did not prep properly.
