I am an absolute beginner. My team at work purchased the Sony a6000 and the TT350 Godox for Sony and I am now responsible for capturing photos at events. Thanks for this awesome tutorial! Super helpful.
I was a wedding photographer for over 30 years and I carried several flashes. I always said I had back ups for my back ups. At the time I was using Nikon cameras and we used Nikon flashes SB 800 and they were work horse flashes. Never a problem. But at a wedding anything can go wrong. I am retired and have just bought the Sony a6400 and this looks like a nice little flash if I need a flash and the price is great. Those SB 800 were over 300.00 each when I bought them. When I did groups at weddings I had two umbrellas one on each side of me with the SB 800 on full power set to manual. Didn’t use the ttl as we found it not to be reliable all the time. When we did candid shots we did use ttl then.
Nice! Yeah the 6000 series is just not built for weddings, but, some of its features work great for it. I do also suggest having backups of the backups! Live and learn!
hikyletaggart You know If I were still doing weddings I wouldn’t be afraid to use an a6000 or my a6400. Those Nikons were aps-c cameras too. D200 and D300. Those two cameras were only 10 megapixel. We had the best lenses for those cameras and also did some large prints from them. I still have the D200 but don’t use it much because the a6400 is my favorite now!
great video, thanks. This happened to me also, from that point onwards I used only 2 or 4 battery flashes. also, the Godox Lithium battery swelled and I had to hammer it out of there. not touching any lithioum-powered flashes ever again.
Godox is reliable. I have the tt350s and tt685s and they rock solid. Recently did an event and no issues other than just keep batteries handy as they will take about 250 shots and then need to be replaced.
I just got this flash and love the video. Having the flash card pressed in all the way was a great tip. I was unable to change my zoom and couldn’t figure out why. Thank you!!
Thank you! I've had this on my Amazon cart for a while now and I couldn't decide if I should buy it, you helped me make that decision. Thanks for the time and for all your videos, they are great!
Thanks for doing this. I've had both of those flashes in my wish list on Amazon for a while and just haven't pulled the trigger. Now I know which I will get and I'll use your link when I get it.
New owner of X2T-S & TT350-S. Once the white bounce card went in ( as seen at 7:00 ) I realized I would need 1/2" of clear tape on it to grab the next time. Nice vid!
I have the exact same flash! I need to use it more often because it sits in the case, in my bag. The auto function was news to me so I need to give it a try. Thanks for the video.
Just got it yesterday! Thanks for making the video. Now i know wat to look out for. For the bounce card, i suggest tie a thread onto the hole on the flash card maybe it will help access it.
I have the Meke Speedlite MK320 which uses AA batteries. Haven’t used it much other than some test shots. Have you tried to clean the battery connectors in the unit? Maybe there’s something on them preventing the battery from getting a good connection.
I've now bought this flash for use with my 6300 and it's great for what I want to do. One warning though, avoid cheap batteries. I bought a large pack of Panasonic batteries of ebay and they hardly last any time at all before the low charge indicator starts flashing.
I just got the TT350 Godox yesterday and also bought a 18-105mm lens for my Sony a6500. Video was very helpful, as I couldn't get it to fire. I have Nikon D3300 and have a Sigma flash, which is very powerful and was easy to use.
hey! im also using sony a6000 with this flash and it doesnt let me change the shutter speed, 1/160 is max. It takes like 2sec to take a picture with flash but in your video it takes picture immediately. What could be the problem? 🤨 The flash settings are all same, TTL & au zoom
How to link the a6000 with the flash would be a great tutorial since now I bought the flash for my a6000 but now not sure how to use it . please do a short tutorial on that would be super helpful for us a6000 users

When you place the flash to the hot shoe, and secure it, that’s the connection. It’s an interface so the camera should detect the flash is connected. Then, ensure the flash is in TTL mode so it’s in the “auto” mode. You should see the flash logo on the screen. Let me know if this helps.
I have a sony hx400v will a Sony external microphone work to some extent? I know they are not completely compatible but is it so much that I will notice? I shoot outside.

It’s a basic flash. A dedicated flash is more power and flexibility. The built in camera flash is more of a quick type thing. If someone were paying me for portraits, I’d buy a stronger flash.

Great Tutorial! As I want a nice small flash for events for my sony a7c and this one seems the right one. I thought buying the Godox TT685S for its power and recycle tme speed between flashes to 2" instead of 3-4" on the TT350s. Nut the tiny size, light weight, price and your excellent tutorial convinced me 😀. By the way, for the Meike issue you've got with the batteries, I am pretty sure it is the charger. I've got the same problem with 2nd hand cheap batterie chargers and as soon as I changed it it worked back again. Let me know if it works for you. I wish you an excellent weekend!
I have two of these units but, I wish that there were a low profile flash such as the Canon 270-EX-ii that has bounce and HSS capability. While I like this flash O.K., carrying one on the camera hotshoe with the height (4-inches vs 2.5 inches) and flimsy plastic hotshoe using a Black Rapid Strap seems like a recipe for disaster...
What camera settings do you use on the A6000? Full Auto? Aperture Priority? Shutter Priority? I think Adorama sells the Godox under their FlashPoint name.

Well if it's the battery compartment that is INOP, I don't think whether rechargeable/batteries would matter. Definitely might want to have a backup when shooting paid gigs. TT350S or MK320?
Yikes,, most frustrating, The Godox looks to be a solid flash. An update a little later on would be a welcome video.
Good thought. I plan on getting another and doing a studio session. Kinda wanna see if two little flashes can produce top notch work, or close to it.
Im curious will this work on a sony nex6?
Unsure, didn’t test it on any NEX cameras.
Well if it's the battery compartment that is INOP, I don't think whether rechargeable/batteries would matter. Definitely might want to have a backup when shooting paid gigs.
I grabbed my Godox TT350S plus a X1T-S for under $100 on Ebay. I eventually will get the pro trigger and the V860iiS for when I go FF.
Yeah, has to be the compartment. Gonna try to clean it, if that doesn’t work I’m out of ideas! And agreed, always have a backup! We did not prep properly.
@@kyletaggart Hey, most people think about a camera malfunctioning overall, so bring an extra body, but who would've thought about carrying an extra flash? Definitely not me, but you learn from trial and error.
Good flash
How about godox 200d
Need to get me one!
The rechargeable one specs are better than the tt350 and costs more. I got the 3 year accidental warranty for 15 bucks. Cant go wrong.
thank you for this video!
Thanks! No problem.
Ttl?
