    Thanks... they also make TT350F for Fujifilm too... I love my Fuji... also... when the flash is set to manual mode, and not slave or master, you can depress the "Slave" button and cycle through S1 and S2 to use a built in optical slave... S2 works great in TTL with slow shutter... tripping flash after the unit sends the initial flicker to set exposure, when the shutter actually opens....

      @@tydyedit Yes... but you will need a transmitter... and Godox has really good ones for relatively low price... I use the X-Pro for Fuji and it used to be under $100 cdn... there are a few newer versions with the latest digital cube one being up around $130 cdn The entry level trigger is the X-2... I also had a X-1 and paid about $60 cdn for it 4 years ago...

    Thank you. I usually use my V1 as my main speedlight for most work and sometimes I go to my V350 for occasional practice at home. Having said that, in most cases I do have my V350 as a fill light or hair light and as such it's almost always on Slave mode and that by far is the most annoying and counter intuitive thing to me on this flash unit because of how the buttons are named versus their function. They should have kept the sync button named as SLAVE with the existing flash sync icon beneath it and the last button should have just been named CH or GR with the vice versa below it. The few times I wanna practice with this unit as the master, I almost never remember how to change it back from slave mode.

    • @ShortCutGuides

      I certainly agree. I assume they wanted less buttons due to its’ small size, but menu diving/double duty on some of these buttons are awkward.

    Love these quick tutorials. I bought two TT350s but when I trigger with an X1, it appears the lowest poser the small TT350s can go to is 1/16 (even though the X1 trigger will go lower). Thoughts? Is my X1 defective?

    • @ShortCutGuides
      @ShortCutGuides  7 лет назад

      Thanks for the question! Definitely sounds like an issue with your your trigger. You can change minimum power level of a transmitter from 1/128 to 1/256 for use with an AD600, but it can't be increased. I would do a reset/firmware update on your X1T and see if that corrects the issue.

    Thanks for the video. Just a couple of questions that I can't seem to find answers to - 1) When in Master mode does the TT350 effectively become one of the groups? ie. so that means you have the TT350 plus two other groups/flash, and 2) Can you make the TT350 in Master mode not affect the exposure? i.e. not fire or if firing not sync and impact exposure?

    • @ShortCutGuides
      @ShortCutGuides  3 года назад

      Master’s are not part of the group. Control the M level is you want or don’t want it to effect exposure. You can also turn off the master flash to use only as a trigger.

  • @AydinOdyakmaz

    Just bought this and looking to use as a master for my Ad200 and tt685s so far looks like it syncs. Not sure if it will do much as an on camera flash something I haven't done in years as Im always off camera. Guess it might be a good back up fill ? We shall see

    • @ShortCutGuides
      @ShortCutGuides  6 лет назад

      I imagine you will mostly just use it as a trigger with those larger lights. But that said, I can think of some situations where a little fill could be helpful. But with the power of that little flash, it would be for medium to short distances.

    • @ShortCutGuides

      just a few thoughts: Have you tried updating the firmware? Is the hot shoe completely inserted and secured? You shouldn't need to set HSS on camera, just adjust your shutter speed passed 1/250 with HSS enabled on the flash.

    I am thinking about TT350 and TT685 for my Fuji X-t20 for occasional gatherings, small weddings, and birthdays. TT350 is perfect because of the size, however I am concerned about its power and speed, is it enough for small venues and semi-pro work? What do you suggest? Thanks...

    • @ShortCutGuides
      @ShortCutGuides  5 лет назад +1

      I guess it depends on how small the weddings are. Generally, I think you'd benefit from the quick recycle times from a V860ii or V350 for a wedding And both of those will last so much longer without AA batteries. But that said, the TT350 is quite capable, just don't expect to go really hard and fast with it. Although it will outperform most comparably sized flashes.

    • @ShortCutGuides

      Hello Tope, You can definitely use one to trigger the other. Just make sure the master is the one that matches your hot shoe (canon on canon, Fuji on Fuji). Obviously, the slave shouldn’t be on the camera at the time (or the camera is turned off).

    I'd love to see this mounted on a full size DSLR of the 7D or 6D type and or see this next to a Canon 270EX II flash. That way I could get a better idea of its size...

    • @ShortCutGuides
      @ShortCutGuides  6 лет назад

      I'll try to link a picture later, but it's slightly bigger than a 270 ex, but not nearly as awkward in shape. It's about half the size in all 3 dimensions as a 600ex. If measurements help, it's 14cm tall vs 8cm of the 270. Same width. Slightly heavier at 200g vs 150g.

    • @richardpcrowe
      @richardpcrowe 6 лет назад

      Thanks... I use a 270EX II quite often because of its extra tiny size. I even often use the older Canon 420EX because it is one of the smallest full size flashes that Canon has produced. I'd like to switch over to the TT350 because I like the Godox (Flashpoint) R2 radio control. I do have the X1 transmitter and have a couple of used X1 receivers coming soon which I can use with my Canon flash gear... I shoot with the Canon 7D2 and 6D2 cameras...

    I just purchased the TT350S for use with a Sony A7 III. I also have a V860IIC and wanted the smaller flash to use for birthday parties and indoor events in a small space. I've been testing it and getting underexposure. I spoke with a technician at B&H Photo and he said the flash doesn't have enough power to use bounce, even with a relatively low white ceiling. He suggested I push ISO to 1250, shoot at f4 and 1/60th to 1/250th/second. I'm using the TTL and Fill Flash settings and have configured menu options on the camera according to recommendations. What do you think? Am I asking too much to use this small unit as a bounce flash? Thx!

      I think it works fine as bounce for small spaces, but he is also right in terms of a strategy for balancing the power it has vs how dark the room is. I wouldn't use this flash for anything requiring distance (i.e. using at @ focal length longer than 105+) if your subjects aren't almost immediately in that range or closer.
      Other than that, bump your iso when you need to, avoid HSS, and you shouldn't have trouble.

      @@ShortCutGuides Thx for your note and recommendations! I found another useful post on exposure with the TT350 on DPreview.com. William Curtindale suggests using Manual setting - 1/80th sec, f/5.0 and Auto ISO. He is using the flash head up at 45 degrees and the white card extended. His post include sample photos from a small gathering - at this link - www.dpreview.com/forums/post/63523229. Based on the discussion for that post, I'm experimenting with various settings. That said, the TT350 will not really work in a larger setting so I'll go to the V860IIC for that.

      Probably Wide Panel isn't pushed back properly, that's why it's lock at 14mm. Push it back untill you hear click.

      Marcin is correct! make sure the wide diffuser piece is completely inserted back in the camera (bounce card itself is fine, can leave that out if you need it).

      note: if its in auto, it will only change when your lens changes. After pushing "zoom" just move the dial. If that doesn't work, you might want to reload firmware or do a reset.

    how about battery life on full powered shots?

    • @ShortCutGuides
      @ShortCutGuides  6 лет назад

      This really depends on what kind of AA batteries you're using (i.e. Alkaline or NiMh), how worn out your rechargables are, etc... Assuming alkaline, You should get around 200-300.

      If you wish to use the bounce card (which only comes out with the reflector), simply put the reflector back in while leaving the card exposed.
