    I love all the lighting setups and looks you did with the same flash. Really creative and resourceful.
    Also cool how lightweight that setup is with a reflector, compared to using a bigger lighting modifier like a softbox or umbrella.
    At 12:22 in the video, what did you use to connect the MagMod shoe to the magic arm? That’s the only missing piece keeping me from getting a similar setup.
    I’m learning so much from you about lighting and off-camera flash on a budget.
    Thanks for all you do.

    I knew that one Godox/Flashpoint speedlite could control others in their R2 radio system ... what I did NOT realize is that some Canon's built-in controls could as well (when a compatible flash is on the hotshoe). I have the R8 with that feature, and already have a TT350C.
    I'm thinking of a few different scenarios for myself:
    1) Get a TT350"O" for use with my Olympus ZX-1 or as a slave when shooting with the other speedlite on my R8.
    2) Get a controller for when I want the 2nd light off-camera.
    3) Get an AD100 for more flexibility outdoors, used with or without the two TT350s! ... it's not that I want to make it complicated, but once or twice a year I'm asked to be the "photo taker" at a family event with about 10 people who always seem to line up instead of be arranged in two rows. That is both a focal length consideration and a lighting challenge if only using one speedlight.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  7 месяцев назад

      Well the 350s are a great little light, but I will recommend the V350s with the rechargeable batteries are a big upgrade. And for the size, they would make a great controller. But I always like a little remote myself for off camera - but that’s because I use the camera/remote for long periods so smaller is better for me.

    I don't know if they can actually do 500 full power flashes either, as I've never tested one to that extent, but I've definitely gotten over 350 pops at higher power outputs on a single charge without issue.

  • @jasonbodden8816
    @jasonbodden8816 11 месяцев назад +1

    Not that weird that when when you were up close it underexposed. She has very light skin and you filled the frame with her. TTL works on the same reflective metering your camera does so it's trying to bring everything to that middle grey tone. If it sees mainly brighter tones in the image chances are it's going to put out less light; conversely, when you backed up and let a lot more of the dark background into your shot it saw that and put out more juice in an effort to bring the picture up to midtones. That's probably what happened.

      I’m not sure of the model number but if it’s the one with the spin out reflector… I’m getting that for design alone! And yes, that will give you the look. The one closer to the camera body will work- not the exact look- but may give you a bit more red eye

    If you use a rogue flashbender as a flag on the side of the flash closest to her at 9:14 you can get rid of that sheen on her skin for those of you that don't like that haha.
