Killer!!! Great to see n hear some recent stuff from you Greg! I was listening again to your Tailgate Troubadour album just the other day. Front to back, what a great instrumental guitar record! A true stand out, filled with killer playing, tones, passion and imo probably the most important thing, actual well crafted songs that one can listen to over and over again regardless if they play guitar or not.
I’m 41, been playing most of my life, have owned tons of guitars, and I just got my first tele. Got a fender professional II. I can’t believe I’ve waited this long. I don’t know what it is, but It gives me a feeling unlike any other guitar I’ve ever played. I literally haven’t looked at my other guitars since I got it. I can’t put it down
Had to laugh at your comment... I'm a little older than you, and did the same thing. Got a Fender Pro Am II this past year and can't believe I've been missing this in my 50 plus years of playing guitar. I got quite a bit of catching up to do!! And somehow I don't mind one bit!!
Playing since 9....off/on....college....then back at it in my 40's when my kids were old enough to learn...bought a bunch of humbucking LPs, etc....kept buying and selling off Strats and Teles...based on my music tastes I wasn't feeling/bonding with single coils. Then....heard John Mayer and started learning his stuff, then some old school Hendrix, then more blues and jazz...all of a sudden in the last 12 months I've picked up 8 Teles, learned to solder, modded some already...just got a great LSL TBone (lefty) last week. Love Teles...may sell much of my 20+ latest collection cause at 62, I'm unlikely to evolve into a new genre of music.
I felt in love with Bogner stuff and only few years later I discovered that I love so much for the sound of his videos. The I discovered that YOU MAKE THAT AWESOME videos... You are the N.1 Greg!
Lovely ode to a marvelous instrument. Leo Fender got it right the first time. How impressive is that? I could listen to you, Tom Bukovac and Guthrie Trapp all day long. Wish there was more of you jammin' like those old amp demonstration days. You have no idea how inspirational that stuff is to me. I come back to it all the time to get the blood flowing! Thank you, Greg!! Thank you dearly!!
Greg, I treasure your album, Tailgate Troubadour. Among all the music I have, it’s been one of my favorites. Very accomplished, in tone, in melody, and of course, unmistakable Tele. God bless. My wife asked me, ‘is it worship music? ‘it’s whatever you want’ I said.
I´m gonna get a Tele one day. I love it. Love Greg´s playing as well as his videos. Amazing to see your work, Greg...it always amazes me. Thanks for sharing it.
I've owned my 8502 American Ash since '03. Sleeper Tele for sure. I own a '99 Telesonic too. Both stellar. Different flavors but man do I love them. Tele lover for life. Great upload Greg. Thank you.
I'm still playing the '06 Nocaster RI that you found for me. Still my #1. Great video Greg. Best part of course from my perspective is (forever) listening to you play.
Hey Greg. I'm a TGP guy and recently discovered Tailgate Troubador when you were so kind as to offer up a link a few weeks ago. Very nice stuff, your ear for tone is top notch. I've always been a Strat guy, but Teles have always had a special place in my heart. Thank you for this nice video on why we love telecasters.
I have either owned a Tele, or sold one and shortly thereafter went looking for another one. I have strayed more than once, but always come back home to a Tele. Always. My main crush is also a CS Nocaster. It's the only "keeper" guitar I have, with no plans of letting this one go.
Love it! I am with you all the way! Telecasters are my favorite electric guitars as well. I currently have three of them and love them all... such a sublime instrument. Just can't beat them. Great video and nice playing Greg!
Took me awhile to come around but finally convinced the Tele is the perfect guitar. Not all tele’s are the same but if you find the right one like gloves they mold to the players hands for a perfect fit and it’s unbelievable what sounds you can conjure. I’ve been fortunate to get a hold of a custom shop and have really falling in love with it. Not 100% yet if it’s THEE one but I couldn’t imagine not having one to play. Great commentary!
Absolutely stellar production. You have always been one of my favorites simply due to the professionalism of playing, sound, tone, production, visual, audio, and commentary!
Wow. This was great! Great guitar choice, even beter playing (and ohhh those sounds) and awesome video shooting/editing. Would love to see more like this!
Greg your videos have always been amazing (you have paved the way for many RUclipsrs). You really have a talent as a producer, video artist and killer player. Thanks for sharing your skills with the world. Keep on rocking 😊.
@GregVorobiov For your guitar, did Fender use the Fender Custom Shop Nocaster 51 pickups? Or were they a special pickup handwound for that specific guitar? The youtube videos you've made with that tele are hands down the best tele tones I've ever heard. I have a Fender lightweight ash tele and I'm thinking of installing new pickups. Thanks
Thanks! My tele has the stock Nocaster pickups, however, mine is an early one with slightly more aggressive pickups. They only used these pickups for one year in aprox 1999-2000 I believe.
I loved this! So well done, loved the comparison to the dogs, that hit a chord with me I can tele you...I have made several and I love there common "meat n potatoes" charisma, no matter how well they are dressed...Tell it like it is on a tele...
Started gigging in teens in mid 80’s! Back then thought, a Strat and a LP= DONE! Silly young man! Ended up with a lot of gear including a 92 Am St Tele w/ Joe Braden’s, 06 AVRI 62 Tele surf green w/ binding and a 75 Tele Custom black like Keef’s! Simplified squad down to 4 electric gigging guitars and 75 Tele the winner! 92 gifted to oldest Son and 06 traded towards a Hummingbird! Nothing like a great Tele and while I currently have a killer R8 LP, I am currently Stratless!!! 🤣🤣🤣Love your content!!✌🏽❤️
Fantastic video thanks Greg. The worlds most influential rhythm guitarists for R&B, Soul and Rock 'n Roll players chose a Tele. Dupree, Cropper, Richards etc. I`ve been curious about the p90 Les Paul models, mainly the 56 reissues etc. Have never played one myself, but from what I`ve heard they have an almost Tele like character.. perhaps a touch fatter and with with less of that over-tone harmonic ring that Fender`s have with the scale length. Anyhow.. loved this vid thank you.
I love this video Greg! Beautifully shot and edited. You've nailed what 'Tele Love' means. Whenever I feel unspired with my own Tele playing I watch this video again and it gets me back on my way! (And your fretboard looks 'NASTY' in the right way! ) P.s Any chance of getting a video of you playing Andy & Helen 'in vision' ?!
Thank you SO much! The end song "Andy & Helen" was written after watching the old Andy Griffith (Mayberry RFD) show and the innocent loving relationship their characters had for one another and apparently in real life as well.
The tele was a cheap accessible first when the solid body market was created (Gibson ignored LP's request for a team effort on such a guitar for years). The tele wasn't made to be rubust as a design element, it was made to be cost effective and attractive enough (sonically) to play. They are very versatile, I think too they really are 'the sound of rock n roll guitar' it simply is the beginning of rock tone. I love when you find a Les Paul that can get a little bit of that tells essence in its sound, usually low winding coil resistance. That ability to expose a players skills is actually liberating when you come to terms with it, like learning to work with a metronome as a team.
Yes, a stripped down utilitarian and functional design. And like I mentioned a telecaster is "basically a lap steel with a round neck" Leo Fender hit a home run that is just as relevant as it was in upon its "Esquire" (single pickup tele) release in 1950.
I love the sound of Teles but sadly their weakness is that they are notorious for squealing at higher volumes or when snare drums and cymbals are struck in a band context.
Thank you! I don't really have a favorite Tele player but a lot of of my favorite players sometimes used a Tele: Albert Collins, Steve Cropper, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Bill Frisell and many many more...
Many, many, thanks Lance! So glad you watched this video and really am grateful for the support of my music. It means the world to me, thank you!

Greg, Your album still is a massive influence on me! Like top 5 desert island pick!
Luke, thanks SO much for the support and glad to hear you liked my CD Tailgate Troubadour!
I had one during the time I was most gigging. True, there really is nothing like a Telecaster.
Yes, it's a special instrument for sure!
SO GOOD. Great to see you making guitar videos again, and with such visual craft. More!
Thanks so much Martin!
I felt in love with Bogner stuff and only few years later I discovered that I love so much for the sound of his videos. The I discovered that YOU MAKE THAT AWESOME videos... You are the N.1 Greg!
Hey thanks Marco! Those Bogner videos were fun to create.
Your videos are so good. You motivated me to buy a 2006 Fender Custom Shop Nocastrer relic and that Tungsten Crema Wheat.
Hey now, don't blame me! ...Kidding!! Sounds like you have the perfect combination Tele/Tweed. Enjoy the glorious noise!
Oh man! Thanks SO much for diggin' my music and playing. It's good to know some folks enjoy the videos I make!!
Many thanks! So glad you've enjoyed my album!
I always pegged a tele like Harley flathead.
A Strat is like a Vette!
Well said and a les Paul custom is like a baby grand piano
I´m gonna get a Tele one day. I love it. Love Greg´s playing as well as his videos. Amazing to see your work, Greg...it always amazes me. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks Julio! Get yourself a Tele!
Mine too Greg V.!
Cool! Thanks!
I own a 2007 Road worn Tele early batch I realize the other day is already 16 years old hey time flys I play Reggae and is great for the chop
I have built 8 of them and man, they are beasts. Love them. I have eyed your Nocaster ever since the old amp demos you used to do.
Nice!! An entire fleet of teles!
Amen... that is a beautiful song!!!
Thanks very much!
This whole video: art. (The essence of the human soul.)
Ahh man, thank you!
Really Love this Greg. Never heard truer words about that "tele feeling" . You're playing is a constant source of inspiration. Best to you!
I appreciate the good words, thank you Mark!
I've owned my 8502 American Ash since '03. Sleeper Tele for sure. I own a '99 Telesonic too. Both stellar. Different flavors but man do I love them. Tele lover for life. Great upload Greg. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and the good words!
I'm still playing the '06 Nocaster RI that you found for me. Still my #1.
Great video Greg. Best part of course from my perspective is (forever) listening to you play.
Ahh that's right Grant, I had forgotten about that guitar. Glad you're still enjoying it. Thank you for always supporting my music!!
@@GregVorobiov Wish I could hear you play more often Greg. I'll give you a call soon for a chat.
Not only a great player but always have the coolest of cool tones. Damn. Cheers Greg!
Glad you like my playing and tones, thanks Jon!

Yes! Once you have a great Tele it's so hard to let it go!
Love it! I am with you all the way! Telecasters are my favorite electric guitars as well. I currently have three of them and love them all... such a sublime instrument. Just can't beat them. Great video and nice playing Greg!
Thanks! Nice, a trio of Teles - aka TrioCaster!
Love it dude! More Greg V. tunes makes it even better
Many thanks Matthew!
Aaah yes, so beautiful ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Many thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos and picking up on the nuances and details.
Great love Affair... Bravo Greg!
Thanks very much!
What a beautifull playing
Thank you very much!
Blistering tones, love your music, and yes….I also love my tele
So glad you have a cool Tele and thanks for diggin' the video and my guitar tones!
Wow. This was great! Great guitar choice, even beter playing (and ohhh those sounds) and awesome video shooting/editing. Would love to see more like this!
Appreciate you watching and the kind words! Thanks!

Hey Paul! Thanks for diggin' my videos and taking the time to write such supportive words!
The man is a master of the telecaster but also a great composer!
Many thanks David!

Master of both guitar and video !
Thank you for the good words!!
stellar sounds here, what amp was used ? thx
Thanks! A variety of amps, blackface Fenders, tweed Deluxe mostly.
Lovely playing, and great touch! And yes, I’m totally with you on the Tele being an “essential” guitar in one’s arsenal. Great vid 👍
Thank you!
Wonderfully filmed. Love my Tele too 😊👍🏻
Many thanks! Teles are such great guitars.

Hey thank you! I love P90 pickups as they're super articulate/detailed/raw.
Beautifully stated by someone who can play the living shit out of one!!!
Hey thanks so much Ron!!
Great!
Thanks Guido!
I love this video Greg! Beautifully shot and edited. You've nailed what 'Tele Love' means. Whenever I feel unspired with my own Tele playing
I watch this video again and it gets me back on my way!

P.s Any chance of getting a video of you playing Andy & Helen 'in vision' ?!
Thanks David! My ending song "Andy & Helen" was an improv recording. So glad you liked it.
As always beautiful playing and yah, I totally agree, teles are the best. Love the song at the end…. Is it a song for your parents?
Thank you SO much! The end song "Andy & Helen" was written after watching the old Andy Griffith (Mayberry RFD) show and the innocent loving relationship their characters had for one another and apparently in real life as well.

Greg! Where have you been my man! Please tell me there will be a sequel to Tailgate Troubadour at some point....
Thanks Kris! Sorry nothing is planned for release currently but I'll be posting new videos my RUclips channel so please check back here. Thank you.
Aman Brother 👍🔥🎸🦅
Many thanks!
I love the sound of Teles but sadly their weakness is that they are notorious for squealing at higher volumes or when snare drums and cymbals are struck in a band context.
great video Greg! always a pleasure see you with the Tele. Whats your favourite Teleplayer? Greeting from Germany
Thank you! I don't really have a favorite Tele player but a lot of of my favorite players sometimes used a Tele: Albert Collins, Steve Cropper, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Bill Frisell and many many more...
What neck profile?
RIPPING BRADDAH!
Thanks!
If I had to pick one guitar, it’d be a Tele. Thankfully that’s not the case. Lol!
Yes, it's fun to have options but I agree the Telecaster is my #1 favorite.
❤❤❤😊
The story when he drops his guitar gets his 25 bucks so he can eat for the next week , With a little work that could make a good anecdote .🤣
Ha-ha!
Plenty of Urban myths here😂
Teles are too bright...
