When he said "the guitar feels tight and solid, like it's one piece" I knew what he meant. I once had an american original 50s tele which was exceptional and I always described it as "it feels like it's one piece". NONE of the other electrics I tried had that same feeling to me. None.
Hey Paul I have a similar story. I fell in love with my 69 Thinline in 30 seconds of playing it as well. The gentleman who owned it ( who is a guitar/amp wiz) Vic Germano had bought it new from a custom shop in Sherman Oaks California USA. It's MIM so it's different than a custom shop. But it was made exquisitely. His mission for buying it was to mount a Piezo bridge pickup so he would have an acoustic sound and take advantage of the the semi hollow body. So not to disfigure the original look of the instrument he made the tone knob the control for the Piezo. So both knobs control volume either for the front two Tele pickups or the Piezo. The beautiful thing is being able to blend them for acoustic/electric combinations. I like you have my favorite instruments but this one has captured my attention to say the least. My good buddy Paul Manoogian is a killer Geetar picker in my network here in California and just now snagged a thinline and can't put it down. Ok so enough gloating. I love your channel Paul.
