Got engine light on 2017 KIA Rio the day after I bought it (very suspect). I replaced purge valve and it wasn’t that. I replaced gas cap with after market and that didn’t work. Waiting on new OEM parts to arrive. After replacing gas cap, for getting rid of engine light, do you disconnect battery for a minute? Or it just goes away after you restart the car

After replacing gas cap, for getting rid of engine light, do you disconnect battery for a minute? Or it just goes away after you restart the car
Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, or go to autozone or some place similar and see if they can clear it with a code reader. Good luck man!
