My daughter (8 yo) started collecting, and then I suggested we learn how to play the game. Now, we have about 5 pre-built decks and love to play head-to-head, mixing and matching the pre-built decks we have. She's starting to experiment with building her own deck, now that she understands how some of the cards can really interact well together. I've also had so much fun playing with her. We also have a lot of young trainers at the store who are excited to build and understand what cards work well together, its like seeing light bulbs go off. Here's hoping there's more fun for years to come for you and your daughter (also great for learning math and much more advanced English vocabulary).
Same here! My 10 yo son traded with all his friends, and he would not stop talking my ear off about Pokemon and all their stats. Finally I told him if I had to hear about this all day, I at least wanted to try playing the game. Now we are hooked! Making our own decks, going to a local game store to play with others (and they serve beer!).

This box is probably no good to any seasoned collector or player tho

I'm still new to playing the TCG and understanding the rotation of the standard format cards but as I understand it when rotation occurs next in early 2023 the cards with "D" series on them will fall out of rotation but I noticed several of these supporter cards had "D" on them. Won't they fall out of rotation early next year?
Yeah the cards will rotate out with D! Cards usually have a lifespan of 2 years in standard play. Some cards with D or older may/have been reprinted so you can use older copies if you want

just buy singles… this box here is about £30 the singles are worth £5 if that from a junk folder in locals. i finished two decks with staples out of a box for about £6, 15p a trainer
I'm a collector but don't have any money due to losing my disability payments :( so may sell if I find a valuable card. Otherwise I'll keep! Someday might be a player who knows
