The takeoff speed for a Boeing 747-400 is typically around 180 knots (207 mph or 333 km/h) and this is relatively faster than his siblings. If that car had wings wide enough, it could take off with 875,000 pound weight added to it(than it couldn't go up to that speed but you get the point) AND we have cars that can go 330mph (around 530 kmh)...
The fitness that you need to drive this thing is surely the most impressive thing about it all.....that helmet must weigh a ton on braking and in the corners!
try watching the ADAC TOTAL Nurburgring 24hrs at night. there will be english commentary. the cars are a LOT slower but the commitement and on-board footage in the pitch dark is just amazing.
5:11 yes sir, that is exactly how everybody feels going through speigel kurve and dreifach-rechts, ur booty gets clenched tight and u hope u don’t hit a curb.
Hehe, it is not going to fly on the contrary, he is "sucked" onto the track. The top speed is actually limited by the down force you whant to have on the corners. But look at his head movements and hand movements... this track can be very bumpy so you whant to have a lot of downforce so you just slide away on a bump and crash, so I am very impressed by the top speed. I don't even know if anybody has beaten that record on a video game
Come on! Are you serious? What do you want the numbers with "speed" written on them to be? That's kilometers per hour obviously given that the imperial mileage system is practically only used in the United States with some traditionalist remnants in the UK.
This is what happens if a brand like Porsche takes their LMP car after they retired from it and say: well that car was to cool to just put it away so why don't we take 2-3months, ignore the LMP regulations and see how fast we can be. Some fun facts: the 919 hybrid evo has a higher ground clearance then its LMP version to prevent it from hitting the ground as much but it has side skirts to still be able to use the ground effect. Even the LMP version of that car can theoretically drive upside down at above 250kph because at that point it creates more down force then its own weight. The driver also said that there is still a bit room to improve (i think he said like 1sec or so)
Also this track is pretty narrow, bumpy and has a lot of elevation change. It is way harder on the car and the driver then it looks like in this video. This track isn't called the green hell for nothing
The car can make 400kmh on sea level, but the fast parts are quite high and last bit is uphill and it was a bit too warm too, so 367 max. Anyway, a F1 car can do around 7min on Nordschleife, what's around a min quicker than Pikes Peak winning cars, and a GT3 can do 8mins as well, just to put it in perspective. ✌

Off course it is in km/h. Americans are so entitled. And by the way, this is the most dangerous and difficult race track in the world. @@nikolaimikuszeit3204 No Nascar in the world can generate that much down force to beat a GT/LeMans car on a roadtrack. No matter the rules. There is a reason these cars are build different. Race cars have wings, just like airplanes. It just so happens they're upside-down, so they generate inverse lift (downforce) instead.
