I finally got this achievement by using your guide after a couple years of attempts. Thank you! Btw the new peace conferences of By Blood Alone make it a lot easier. I could swipe Portugal's navy and contest states I needed in the UK and Africa to get what I needed for the achievement.
in NSB, the UK very heavily defends the home islands, everything went well up until the point where I invaded, but they had the entire coast garrisoned in Liverpool not just the ports, and as soon as I landed with my 10 divisions they hit me with 32 divisions including 2 medium tanks I couldn't pierce(32 armor) along with 800 CAS. You absolutely need at least support AA and maybe even AT if you want to succeed at invading the UK now, I absolutely got shredded by CAS even though most of the UK's divisions were only 7-2s. Maybe the reason they were more heavily defended was because I and the Italians completely kicked them out of Africa, but it's probably not possible without AA at least unless you get very lucky. The AI has been improved a lot since this video came out. Also research times are now slower, particularly for industry and submarines, so you can't spam subs as easily anymore. Also the doctrine rework means you basically can't get enough army exp to do doctrines unless you grind in Africa. I suggest sending an Attache to someone like China or Japan, and going for army high command before you increase your manpower or economy laws. Your economy is so small that going from toaster economy to partial mob or even war economy is only one or two factories.
For the achievement all you need to do is release them via the decision and take London. This can be done while just occupying the land, so instead go hard in Africa for the colonies you need, release them, then put all your effort into just taking and holding London for one second
I really wish he would do a 2022 updated version because I have tried constantly to do this achievement, and it's so hard now because of all the updates.

Problem that I am running into is that Military access wont let me set up naval invasions once republican spain capitulates and the subs do not have enough of a range to get supiority from SA to Portugal proper.

You absolutely have to declare war for Muncia since that is the last/one of the last Rep. Spain provinces to fall. The part with Portugal and the UK still works, it is just hard as fuuuuuuck

Love your videos, Bitt3rSteel! I just unlocked the Med Plutonium achievement where you nuke Denmark as Sweden. The way I did it was I joined the Allies in 1937 once France and Britain announced their alliance. Then I started doing the Atomic Research in 1937 after unlocking the perks with the, “Special Weapons” focus (I think that’s what it’s called.) And then in 1939 after Atomic Research was complete, I used the other perk to research Nuclear Reactors. And while THAT was being researched I did the, “Nuclear Effort” focus in order to start researching Nuclear Bombs in 1941. And then I used all of my industrial spaces to build Reactors. By 1943 I had a nuke, so I joined the war and dropped the bomb. I dropped it on Copenhagen. And then for shits n’ giggles I waited until I had a second bomb and dropped it on Berlin. I basically went the patient route to unlocking this achievement.
FYI: you don’t need to control the African countries or even have them exist. You just need to have had the events fire for them which set the flags that the achievement checks. You can annex them after or lose the territory while the decision is going etc.

The factory resets because the building que progress resets at the start of the civil war to prevent this go to your building que and tell it to build more because when it resets it kind of removes it while keeping it there also sending volunteers saves 5k manpower as it also gives the bonus even when you dont send any volunteers
Managed to get this even when USA had joined the Allies. Keeping the convoy raiding up in "Western Approaches" and "Iberian Coast" made sure no US troops could help the British mainland. I sneaked the NS, and landed in Liverpool. Got the achievement after some intense microing. Thanks for the incredible guides Bittersteel. Easy to understand and follow :)

A couple tips for you guys trying to do this If you are trying this after By Blood Alone, revert to at least No Step Back (1.11), where Kenya is one state so it's much easier to take. After you see the German pressure on the Benelux event, it's safe to release Belgium as a puppet. Germany won't get a wargoal on Belgium and France will most likely fall from their front with Italy. (Now that you have Belgium, you could attempt to just paradrop a division into London to get the achievement.) if you also want to get the Rule Britannia achievement, get the UK on the verge of capitulation and wait for the USA to join the war. Once they join, you can capitulate the UK which will give you control over all their territory (except Northern Ireland, but I don't think thats required. If it is, you can try a quick naval invasion or paradrop to quickly secure it.) but the war wont end since the USA is considered a major. Since you occupy all of the UK, you should also get that achievement too. Hope this helps!

A few tipps: - Don't go for a submarine fleet in the beginning! Use the Commonwealth research bonusses to get 36 destroyers asap and apam those out. You will get naval supremacy quicker that way. - I would suggest naval invading around the Lisbon area since your invasion fleet will take not as long to land
I wanna know something -- do you ever record guides where your playthrough doesn't succeed so you have to discard all the footage? In this video you managed to get all of the achievement's requirements but I'm wondering about how common it is that you record a video and the RNG doesn't work out at all so you don't fulfill an achievement's requirements. Does that happen often? Thanks for all the content btw, I'm working on this achievement right now and this video is a definite help :D
GG mate, I'm loving your videos If you want, I'd recommend you doing a guide about the Bevrijding achievement, I did it yesterday and it was a really engaging run (It was quite mentally draining tbh), I think you could make a really good video out of it
LOL, I got annexed by Italy too right after cappin the UK. I would actually recommend letting the US join the war before the UK falls(if you can manage) so that you get a chance to get the Rule Britannia achievement as well. Or you can just build up as India and yoink them in the late game.
Very nice, but the unspoken MVP of this run is that, by what I can consider only a bug, you got 185 convoys after Portugal capitulates (not mentioned in the aftermath popup; they just appear). The real challenge of CK2 for me is to keep up with producing convoys that the Brits keep sinking once you need to supply an army in Europe.
I don't seem to be able to naval invade from spanish docks even though I have military access :( Has it been disallowed in newer versions? Also is there a way to get around this issue?
Okay, update to my previous comment. For anyone watching this guide, he doesn't explicitly state this, but YOU MUST SET UP YOUR NAVAL INVASIONS BEFORE THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR ENDS. THE GAME WILL REMEMBER THEM AND YOU CAN STILL LAUNCH. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU CANNOT SET UP SAID INVASIONS AFTER THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR. Hope that helps.

@@johncarter449 Disclaimer: ive oriented myself by TommyKays Video about this achievement. Doctrine: Mass Assault and a bit of Trade Interdiction (you might not need any naval doctrine). Divisions: 20w Infantry + Shovels (4mils on guns for every 1 mil on support eq) Build: Only Military Factories Research: Sub2s, Industry (concentrated), Doctrines, Infantry Stuff PP: Silent Workhorse, Communist Revolutionary, military theorist, improved worker conditions, war propaganda, manpower up to 5% Try to priortise improved worker conditions and war propaganda (you may be able to do propaganda in the civil war and against portugal, whildt the earlier you do improved worker conditions the earlier you can do it again, which is good since it is the only good way to increase Stability. I would say raids arent worth it in this playthrough) First 3 naval Focuses whilst also researching sub 2s from the get go. Then Abandon Westminster and empower the workers. After that you dont select any focus for some time. Next get the civil war and justification on Portugal asap. After that work yout way down the industrial focus tree followed by the very left path to get manpower. Lastly complete the communidt tree. You can have a very quick civil war, if you delete all units and have one unit in training (dont assign any spot to deploy it yet). When the civil war kicks off you can just deploy this unit instantly and be done with the Civil war in an instance. Declare the war against portugal at the latest possible date, your army needs time. Hold the line against mozambique, whilst encircling (do as little pushing as possible!) Units in Angola. When Angola is cleared do the same in mozambique, whilst taking 2 or more of your ~10 Divisions to “island hop“ through the atlantic up to portugal. From my experience you dont need to bother with the island in the bay of guinea since it is often guarded. After having taken the mozambique and the azores, drawn invasion plans for the port in the very south of portugal (the 2 tiles around the port are quintessential) and having deployed your by now ~13 Divisions ready to invade portugal you may do so. Again try to encircle more than to just push (this build is made to “overrun“ the AI and not for its great combat abilities. Next deploy further units to have a 24unit army in portugal ready to invade the uk and as many units as possible to defend South Africa/maybe take botswana and zimbabwe to gain more manpower and cores. What seemed to be important is to justify wargoals on all states you need for the achievment! (London + 3 African States for GB and 3 Kongo States for Belgium). You should justify these wargoals so that the german attack on the western allies should be in the same time you declare war. Set up naval invasions for the uk. This is very random since you rely on the ai not exerting naval dominance around all its shores. In the multiple attempts i made for this achievement i landed on different shores anytime. You may want to join the axis to be able to invade from germany/france. Another important thing: i played historical, had 20% war participation and capitulated the UK on my one (AI doesnt help you a bit) and got no say in the peace deal. BUT i didnt do the thing with the wargoals i explained earlier! I did that in the next unhistorical run where i got the achievment easily. Problem is that ahistorical runs arent 100% reproduceable... So i wish you Luck and Determination! One more thing i have to say: even tho i sometimes watch and try to do Achievements as seen/read in guides i most often need more than 1 attempt, since a guide cant say everything and you need to develop an understanding for the playstyle, country and achievement yourself. Feel free to ask anything, since i might have forgotten and or misspelled a lot.
Note for naval combat: Subs are useless shit, build destroyers, destroyers can actually do some stuff (If you have some light cruisers, turn some into heavy cruisers and some into carriers) You can use subs to reinforce destroyers (Once destroyers destroy screening vessels, they will start launching torpedos into capital ships, so in this stage of battle subs can be actually usefull) Also dont forget naval bombers, naval bombers can anihilate entire fleets, if you place naval bombers into carriers, these bombers will get 500% attack bonus!!! Bonus tip: When doing naval invasions you either use this tamplate: (8 naval infatry) X 3 Or more idealy this (8 naval infatry + 3 amphibius tanks) X 2 You can convert light tank II and medium tank I into amphibius tanks, ask czechoslovakia and germany to give you some light tanks, they usually send light tank II

Kind of ironic how you started out playing CK2 before you started doing HOI4 videos and now you are doing a guide for an achievement named after the game. Anyway, can you do one for the first "Crusader Kings" achievement?
You might be able to use a paratrooper to take Portugal, if you can get air superiority and access from Spain you can just paradrop a province next to Spain and walk the rest of your army across the border. It's totally broken and how I'd beat Czechoslovakia as Italy when taking Yugoslavia early game.
I've altered the process slightly for the newer DLCs and Belgium seems to have around 20 divisions between Belgium and their African colonies, and my 8 divisions just get taken out. You can't get the manpower or equipment to make them any bigger than the standard 12w you start with anymore, even with buying guns from the Soviets.
I think the reason you were annexed in the peace deal is because Germany occupied Belgium. If a foreign country occupies your land then in the peace conference that land will be up for grabs, even if you were not fighting the country occupying the land. For some reason it decided since Belgium was occupied that you were completely occupied, and therefore you were part of the peace deal for the axis.
As a content request, if you can do France's "Big Entente" that would be cool. I find your playstyle similar to mine, although I've had trouble breaking the German line consistently (as either Napoleon or Democratic France).
Rush all the entente focuses before demand sudentland, join the ententes at the end and then destroy the axis with the full might of Europe. Taking out Italy first with naval invasions works pretty well.
I tried this achievement 6 times And noticed / improved a couple of things Call in only Rwanda in the war with Britain and put a couple of divisions there to cut off the British earlier in Uganda / Kenya Don’t naval invade Liverpool it’s really not worth it, it fails almost always, is way too far from London and it is defended most of the time and the uk will bring all there troops to you, making a second naval invasion almost impossible, wait for the English Channel and take dover Declaring on Belgium immediately is crucial, I had 2 runs ruined by missing by a couple of hours, instantly pause when the focus completes Make the naval invasion for Portugal BEFORE the civil war ends, or else naval invading Portugal isn’t possible anymore Don’t finish ‘expand the cape corps’ before ‘liberate British colonies’ That’s because Kenya will most definitely become yours instead of Italian if you declare earlier then the Italians
Oh man, I got close, but no cigar. Italy did awful in Africa to the point they were kicked out of Ethiopia entirely before I even landed in Kenya, so I had to tackle the brits/french on my own. I also got delayed since the UK had a huge fleet patrolling that area for some reason and troops guarding the port. It went well until the Ethiopian mountains when things got bogged down and the US joined the war, so I couldn't divert troops for Sealion. It might be salvageable but at this point it's such a mess.
Another problem just popped up (coz it had to i guess), in my timeline Nationalist Spain ended war with Republicans by the December 1938, thing is i cannot set naval invasion to Portugal from the port of Cadiz as intented in the video, what should i do? Should i restart, simply wait or do something?

LOL, I got annexed by Italy too right after cappin the UK. I would actually recommend letting the US join the war before the UK falls(if you can manage) so that you get a chance to get the Rule Britannia achievement as well. Or you can just build up as India and yoink them in the late game.

Very nice, but the unspoken MVP of this run is that, by what I can consider only a bug, you got 185 convoys after Portugal capitulates (not mentioned in the aftermath popup; they just appear). The real challenge of CK2 for me is to keep up with producing convoys that the Brits keep sinking once you need to supply an army in Europe.
I don't seem to be able to naval invade from spanish docks even though I have military access :(
Has it been disallowed in newer versions? Also is there a way to get around this issue?

Okay, update to my previous comment. For anyone watching this guide, he doesn't explicitly state this, but YOU MUST SET UP YOUR NAVAL INVASIONS BEFORE THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR ENDS. THE GAME WILL REMEMBER THEM AND YOU CAN STILL LAUNCH. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU CANNOT SET UP SAID INVASIONS AFTER THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR.

Doctrine: Mass Assault and a bit of Trade Interdiction (you might not need any naval doctrine).
Divisions: 20w Infantry + Shovels
(4mils on guns for every 1 mil on support eq)
Build: Only Military Factories
Research: Sub2s, Industry (concentrated), Doctrines, Infantry Stuff
PP: Silent Workhorse, Communist Revolutionary, military theorist, improved worker conditions, war propaganda, manpower up to 5%
Try to priortise improved worker conditions and war propaganda (you may be able to do propaganda in the civil war and against portugal, whildt the earlier you do improved worker conditions the earlier you can do it again, which is good since it is the only good way to increase Stability. I would say raids arent worth it in this playthrough)
First 3 naval Focuses whilst also researching sub 2s from the get go.
Then Abandon Westminster and empower the workers. After that you dont select any focus for some time.
Next get the civil war and justification on Portugal asap.
After that work yout way down the industrial focus tree followed by the very left path to get manpower. Lastly complete the communidt tree.
You can have a very quick civil war, if you delete all units and have one unit in training (dont assign any spot to deploy it yet). When the civil war kicks off you can just deploy this unit instantly and be done with the Civil war in an instance.
Declare the war against portugal at the latest possible date, your army needs time.
Hold the line against mozambique, whilst encircling (do as little pushing as possible!) Units in Angola. When Angola is cleared do the same in mozambique, whilst taking 2 or more of your ~10 Divisions to “island hop“ through the atlantic up to portugal. From my experience you dont need to bother with the island in the bay of guinea since it is often guarded. After having taken the mozambique and the azores, drawn invasion plans for the port in the very south of portugal (the 2 tiles around the port are quintessential) and having deployed your by now ~13 Divisions ready to invade portugal you may do so.
Again try to encircle more than to just push (this build is made to “overrun“ the AI and not for its great combat abilities.
Next deploy further units to have a 24unit army in portugal ready to invade the uk and as many units as possible to defend South Africa/maybe take botswana and zimbabwe to gain more manpower and cores.
What seemed to be important is to justify wargoals on all states you need for the achievment! (London + 3 African States for GB and 3 Kongo States for Belgium). You should justify these wargoals so that the german attack on the western allies should be in the same time you declare war.
Set up naval invasions for the uk. This is very random since you rely on the ai not exerting naval dominance around all its shores. In the multiple attempts i made for this achievement i landed on different shores anytime. You may want to join the axis to be able to invade from germany/france.
Another important thing: i played historical, had 20% war participation and capitulated the UK on my one (AI doesnt help you a bit) and got no say in the peace deal.
BUT i didnt do the thing with the wargoals i explained earlier! I did that in the next unhistorical run where i got the achievment easily.
Problem is that ahistorical runs arent 100% reproduceable...
So i wish you Luck and Determination!
One more thing i have to say: even tho i sometimes watch and try to do Achievements as seen/read in guides i most often need more than 1 attempt, since a guide cant say everything and you need to develop an understanding for the playstyle, country and achievement yourself.
Feel free to ask anything, since i might have forgotten and or misspelled a lot.

Note for naval combat:
Subs are useless shit, build destroyers, destroyers can actually do some stuff
(If you have some light cruisers, turn some into heavy cruisers and some into carriers)
You can use subs to reinforce destroyers
(Once destroyers destroy screening vessels, they will start launching torpedos into capital ships, so in this stage of battle subs can be actually usefull)
Also dont forget naval bombers, naval bombers can anihilate entire fleets, if you place naval bombers into carriers, these bombers will get 500% attack bonus!!!
Bonus tip:
When doing naval invasions you either use this tamplate:
(8 naval infatry) X 3
Or more idealy this
(8 naval infatry + 3 amphibius tanks) X 2
You can convert light tank II and medium tank I into amphibius tanks, ask czechoslovakia and germany to give you some light tanks, they usually send light tank II
Tip for you:
Subs are cheap and can help in getting naval superiority unlike destroyers

You might be able to use a paratrooper to take Portugal, if you can get air superiority and access from Spain you can just paradrop a province next to Spain and walk the rest of your army across the border.
It's totally broken and how I'd beat Czechoslovakia as Italy when taking Yugoslavia early game.

This run was soo good ! Its the hardest achievement ever but for you it was like a piece of cake

I've altered the process slightly for the newer DLCs and Belgium seems to have around 20 divisions between Belgium and their African colonies, and my 8 divisions just get taken out. You can't get the manpower or equipment to make them any bigger than the standard 12w you start with anymore, even with buying guns from the Soviets.
I think the reason you were annexed in the peace deal is because Germany occupied Belgium. If a foreign country occupies your land then in the peace conference that land will be up for grabs, even if you were not fighting the country occupying the land. For some reason it decided since Belgium was occupied that you were completely occupied, and therefore you were part of the peace deal for the axis.
It's probably related. In previous test games, the territory was returned to me. I guess something glitched out

As a content request, if you can do France's "Big Entente" that would be cool. I find your playstyle similar to mine, although I've had trouble breaking the German line consistently (as either Napoleon or Democratic France).
Rush all the entente focuses before demand sudentland, join the ententes at the end and then destroy the axis with the full might of Europe. Taking out Italy first with naval invasions works pretty well.
I tried this achievement 6 times
And noticed / improved a couple of things
Call in only Rwanda in the war with Britain and put a couple of divisions there to cut off the British earlier in Uganda / Kenya
Don’t naval invade Liverpool it’s really not worth it, it fails almost always, is way too far from London and it is defended most of the time and the uk will bring all there troops to you, making a second naval invasion almost impossible, wait for the English Channel and take dover
Declaring on Belgium immediately is crucial, I had 2 runs ruined by missing by a couple of hours, instantly pause when the focus completes
Make the naval invasion for Portugal BEFORE the civil war ends, or else naval invading Portugal isn’t possible anymore
Don’t finish ‘expand the cape corps’ before ‘liberate British colonies’
That’s because Kenya will most definitely become yours instead of Italian if you declare earlier then the Italians
Way to avoid this bug, dismantle your faction after getting the achievement and join the axis

Wish I had seen this earlier, I did this the hard way and it took til 1965 >.
Oh man, I got close, but no cigar. Italy did awful in Africa to the point they were kicked out of Ethiopia entirely before I even landed in Kenya, so I had to tackle the brits/french on my own. I also got delayed since the UK had a huge fleet patrolling that area for some reason and troops guarding the port. It went well until the Ethiopian mountains when things got bogged down and the US joined the war, so I couldn't divert troops for Sealion. It might be salvageable but at this point it's such a mess.

Another problem just popped up (coz it had to i guess), in my timeline Nationalist Spain ended war with Republicans by the December 1938, thing is i cannot set naval invasion to Portugal from the port of Cadiz as intented in the video, what should i do? Should i restart, simply wait or do something?
So, no military access? I suggest a restart. It's still early.
