I apologize for the sloppiness on the editing at times(especially when it comes to the volume adjusting), I had quite a few problems that made me need to start over the editing several times, and this was the best result I could get without my computer exploding with my video editing software! Please check out the description for links to each of the videos mentioned :)
Also, in case someone stumbles into this video in the future, please note that I got the date for the Piano Collections (FIeld and Battle) wrong. They came out around a year after the date I mentioned, so the title "Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion" wasn't actually known during 2009. This doesn't undo any points I made in the video really, but I should have fact checked it more than once!
Hi! I was IZMcreeper back when I was about 12 years old. I’m 19 now. On a whim, I decided to look up my old RUclips channel and I saw your comment asking about using my video. I just wanted to thank you cause it really made my night and it brought back so many memories. Awesome content dude, very influential piece in my life.
The amount of work you put into this is really impressive! I had no idea my version was so influential, haha. It's amazing to see how widespread the music from this series is, even after more than a decade. Keep up the great work!
This is amazing! I love how you described the progression of her theme and its significance! Would you ever consider an analysis of Terra’s theme! You can kind of hear it in Xemnas’ I think!
Thank you for the awesome comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I really loved what I had to say about your arrangement! ...And now I'm really regretting not including #XionLives haha
This was a fascinating deep dive into one of the best (and most widely covered) tracks in the Kingdom Hearts discography. Your research here is SO impressive, and such a testament to the love you have for this song and series. Really, really well done. Thank you so much for tracking this history!
Great video. There were a few issues with the editing and camera footage, but your passion for the topic was immediately noticeable and made the video incredibly enjoyable
Thank you! Yeah, unfortunately I was just getting started when I made this and the editing was a nightmare haha! If you enjoyed this one, you should definitely check out the follow-up I made to this video called "Xion as folk"! the presentation is a lot better and I go more in-depth about this whole topic :)
Wow, the amount of research and thought that went into this really shows! Thank you so much for such an interesting piece that tracks the evolution in arrangements of one of my favourite KH themes :) Never would have guessed that influences in fanworks could be tracked like this, that's really cool and heartwarming at the same time. I recognized quite a number of the fan arrangements you included but there are many I don't know yet, so I'll definitely check out the playlist you linked in the video 🎶
This is such a cool concept!! Tracking the process of original works inspiring fan works inspiring more fan works throughout the years is so interesting! Humans really are something else huh?
Yes! I've always been fascinated by the cycle of fanworks influencing each other, and I've been dying to talk about this for soooo long. It's amazing, and I'm glad to get more people thinking abt it!
I love listening to people's covers of Vector to the Heavens, so this was a super cool video for me to watch! I had never thought about how the various versions and fan interpretations have influenced each other over time. While I'm not very knowledgeable about music, this video was very engaging and fun to listen to!
Thank you! If you liked this, you'd probably enjoy my follow-up to this video called "Xion As Folk"- it explores the processes that led to these influences a bit and brings up some really interesting stuff :)
Great comprehensive analysis, my dude. It was great taking a trip down memory lane in the KH fandom, helping me remember some old forgotten fan-made works.
Thank you! There's definitely a lot of arrangements of this theme haha, there were even more I'd like to have included but that would have made the video way too long. Thanks for letting me talk about your video :D
I want to learn this song for my cousin's birthday who specifically requested it, but I had no idea what Kingdom Hearts was about, what the piece sounded like, and all the different titles dkjdfjh (they told me they wanted me to learn Vector to the Heavens, so when it kept popping up as Xion's theme or XIon's Final Battle or DIrge of the Fourteenth I was thoroughly confused) but I kept seeing you commenting about researching it so I clicked on your channel and although I'm only a couple minutes into the video I"m going to finish this video and hopefully understand this song so I can learn it better!! (btw I'm using Noah Thys' arrangement and I'm really excited to start!! if anyone who's learned the arrangement sees this, I'd be interested to know how hard it is/how long it took to learn because it sounds pretty complex, but the sheet music doesn't look to bad, but it is decently long I gotta say so idk any experience would be appreciated!!) after watching the whole video, I gotta say THIS WAS STELLAR!!! the story was really interesting and now I've heard the song so much I hope it's even the tiniest bit easier to learn! i still know like nothing about what kingdom hearts is about other than like there's some dude named sora with a big key and goofy and mickey mouse?? but that is for research on my own time I suppose :D thank you so much tho kinode this video was really cool and I appreciate all the work and research that went into it! even I, a total noob here, can see that, so good on you!
only played 358/2 days after memoria came out so it was one of the first renditions i heard on youtube but finding out about the dirge phase was cool and interesting
Amazing video Kinode!! The amount of research done is admiring! Keep up the good work! Also can help find me one of your videos I can't seem to find it. It was called Vector to Heavens musically story in and out of video games. It's honestly one of your best videosx it just summarizes why I love Xion's character and why she's such a good character.
Thank you so much for the comment! I'm glad you enjoy my videos. I unlisted that other Xion video because I honestly thought it was a bit outdated (in every sense of the word lol) and some of my analysis on it was just kinda... flat out wrong, so I thought it was a bit embarassing to keep it around. Here's the link for it though, if you wanna rewatch it ruclips.net/video/E8HTMLpxRcw/видео.html

Peak content if i do say so myself
Amazing video! Love the amount of detail put into it!
