There are so many 'how to take fantastic landscape photo' videos out there that they all tend to merge into one. This one stands out and will stay in my mind. I might even be able to incorporate its teaching into my photography. Thanks for a "next level" moment.

Hello Andrea
Another great video from you. What I appreciate about you is your clear pronunciation and your graphics for better understanding. Even if you don't have to deal with the English language on a daily basis, it's no problem to absorb your information. Thanks. Goodbye
Thanks so much for the lovely comment, Erich! Much appreciated! 🙂Ciao
Hi Andrea: Thank you for creating and sharing this video. I really like how straight-forward your 'Simplicity Framework' really is. I can certainly see how this will have a dramatic impact on my photography going forward. Cheers, Keith

very very VERY interesting video, thanks a lot !!! a great moment to go to the "next level" in my photography process
Thank you very much, Philippe. Glad the video was helpful :) Ciao
Great video, explaining what works and doesn't work in various compositions. I particularly like that you also show shots that do not work, because that helps beginners like me to learn!
The shot with the many puffins, for me that shot does work, because the front puffin, the focal point, is itself interesting to look at and the flowers in the grass are to me a nice secondary subject, if you will. The other elements in the frame don't distract me so much, because although I can see what you mean and agree, the puffin itself holds strong enough interest that my eyes don't dwell on it.
The shot with the house in front of the mountain: You show two shots but I feel that one is simply just a crop of the other. ;-) And I feel that it works not only because of simplicity, but also because of the synchronicity of the lines: roof of house, and top of mountain.
I feel that without that, even despite simplicity, the shot wouldn't really work.
I will definitely practice looking at my images with this framework in mind.
Hi Tim, thanks so much for the comment and for sharing your thoughts. Glad you enjoyed the video :) Ciao
Very useful video. Thanks Andrea!

Hey Guy, I hope you're doing well! Thanks so much for the comment and I'm really glad you enjoyed the video :) Ciao
Hi, thanks so much for your comment, C'est vraiment gentil de ta part! I've asked Google Translate to help my with the translation since I don't speak French :) Anyways, I'm really glad you found the video useful! Ciao
Fantastic video, very useful and really appreciated the examples with the visual explanations. 🙏👏

@@AndreaLivieriPhoto appreciated almost all the videos here in the channel. Bye 😁👏

Thank you, Andrea. The video was most useful with the many examples. Following your advice previously from photos I had submitted to you, I have been very careful both while taking photos and in post processing to condense to the most important elements. In 2020, I went on a walk around Niseko in Hokkaido, and took a photo of a snow scape which featured a bridge, a lone tree and some wonderful shapes. In post processing, I remember telling myself I should have zoomed in on the lone tree and the snow scape only, excluding the bridge. I processed it removing the bridge and some trees at the top of the photos. What a difference it made. It became a great minimalist black and white photo. I told myself to be more observant and careful in the future before taking photos. Subsequently, I have taken more photos, most minimalist, for more impact. I have also processed some photos recently to be submitted to a competition, some I will forward to you for your comment if you don't mind. Thanks again for the always valuable tips. Cheers.
Hi Odile, happy to hear from you. How's things? Thanks for the comment and I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, it's very easy to be overwhelmed by some locations. That happens to me, too. Sometimes we miss some interesting compositions because it's easy to forget to "slow down" and work the scene properly, pulling out the hidden, unexpected, and cleaner options. Luckily post-processing comes to our help, ahaha!
Anyway, it would be nice to see your edits, please send me an email, I don't mind at all. Have a good one, Odile, and say hi to Philip. Ciao :)
These photos are straight 🔥🔥🔥 Amazing video Andrea!
Hi Eddy, thanks so much for the comment and I'm really glad you enjoyed the video :) Ciao
Thank you so much for this video Andrea! I came up after a long period with something similar. Can add to the checklist color, shapes, and light too. As Mike said, this video stands out and will stay in my mind, those "why" videos will always stay in the mind and you are doing them great!
Hi Aleksandar, thanks so much for the comment, I really appreciate that! Yeah, colors, shapes, light, and many other stuff are an integral part of the composition process, but, you know, it would be quite impossible to merge everything together in a single 15min :) Anyways, I'm glad to know you enjoyed the video :) Ciao
Great video! Your photos are powerful and so effective. You have definitely given me a new and better approach to pre-visual before taking the shot. Thank you.
Hi Christoph, you’re very welcome. I’m really glad you found the video useful and thanks so much for the comment :) Ciao
I‘m slowly discovering your channel, love this video as well! I like how you were able to break down this complex topic to such a small number of aspects/steps. It really helps me to understand how to improve my images, thanks a lot!
That's awesome! Super happy you found my videos useful :) Ciao
Wonderful video! And I loved the opening quotes regarding simplicity
Hi, thanks so much for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video ...and the quotes :) Have a good one, ciao
brilliant video!!
Hi Tony, thanks so much :) Ciao
Excellent, examples are very helpful to support the thought process. Beautiful images indeed ...
Hi Manu, Thanks so much for the comment and I’m glad you found the video useful :) Ciao
Wonderful video. Thank you for contrasting some of your successful images with those less so - that helped accentuate your points regarding WHY the first succeeded.
Hi Richard, thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciated that. Glad you found the video useful :) Ciao
Very interesting approach. I already started to count on a short biketour. My thoughts were: Too complex, not enough separation. I ended with no shot at all ... and was quite happy. Learnt something. Mille grazie, Andrea.
Thanks so much, Sebastian for the comment and quick feedback :) Glad you found the video useful! Ciao
Simplicity is natures first step, and the last of art. Philip James Bailey
Good and relevant content as well as great use of many examples as well. You clearly worked hard to make this video - thank you! I've learned something and will try to use it in my photography.
BTW: I personally think the hiker in the orange coat is WAY too small for this composition. She is dwarfed by the other subjects and almost visually drowned out. Subjects should be proportionally weighed, imho.
Hi Chris, thanks for sharing your thoughts, and glad you enjoyed the video, very much appreciated. The huge disproportion between the hiker and the mountain in the background is intentional. I intended to push the difference to the extreme by compressing the layers as much as I could with a long focal length and accentuating the sense of scale. The main idea was to enlarge the background (the mountain) and put something (the hiker) looking very small against it. Ciao :)
I like the video but you don't seem to explain how you define the number of elements and it doesn't seem consistent from photo to photo. For the Iceberg photo for example my eye is drawn to the center iceberg which is great but if it is the focal point I see then how is it not its own element?
Using your prior examples on the yellowish building in front of the snowy mountain how is it 3 is an element but the lake on the left hand side isn't.
In general the overall simpler photos are clearly the winners in all cases but some explanation of what is or isn't an element and why would be more helpful.
