    After seeing the bar, I am thinking of going the same on my Wildtrak. Are you putting brush bars on as well as steps? Are you stiffening the rear suspension up for towing the van? I am thinking about some airbag man HP bags. Have them on my Y62, and they do a great job when towing........
    Look forward to next instalment.

      Thanks mate. No brush bars for me. I’ve wrapped the car with PPF panel protection so this should be sufficient for light scratches etc. Not planning to upgrade rear suspension at this stage. Handling the weight of our van quite well. May be something I’ll consider down the line if I opt for a lift

    Haven't seen any of the ironman deluxe looped bars on the next gen Everest yet. Seen heaps of ARB and a few TJM. I think the ironman bar looks the best. With a bash plate and recovery points included. And they are a much better priced then TJM and ARB. Years ago ironman was the new cheap kid on the block, but i feel they're quality is more comparable with TJM and ARB these days.

    Hi Mark, big compliment to your ranger build. Well done.
    Question on your ROH VAPOUR 17" rims. What rim width did you choose and why. Is the offset of +30 (not too little?) the reason why the tyre is rubbing in the front wheelwell? I thought +40 would have been better? Your thoughts please? Thanks and good luck with your awesome Ranger.

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  Год назад +1

      Thanks. It’s been a fun process getting it built up. Now get to enjoy it on trips 😁
      Rims are 8” wide. In terms of the offset, +30 is the widest you can go legally in WA (adding 50mm to the wheel track). +40 would bring the wheels closer into the vehicle which is not what I wanted. Some people running +20 or +25 to get it wider again but obviously so this their own risk. Hope that helps. Cheers Mark

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  Год назад +2

      Hi Ray. I’ve driven 6 months on the standard suspension and surprised how well it coped with the additional weight of the bullbar and winch. I did find it challenging offroad on a rocky track and have a few war wounds to show - however have proved you can do a lot on standard suspension.
      No scrubbing on 33s - assuming you stick with a similar wheel/tyre combo (285 70 17) and +30 offset.
      You’ll see in upcoming videos a 2” lift added which will give me the right balance for off-road and towing 👍

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  Год назад

      Not that I’m aware of. Pretty common addition to many 4WDs and I ran in my previous Pajero Sport. It’s not adding any extra power like a tune - rather just altering the throttle response to take away that lag. I’ve found it’s a good way to combat the extra weight added, which can make a vehicle feel a tad sluggish

    Hi, just wanna ask how about the warranty of your XLT? Is the car warranty gonna void? Installing Ironman instead of the ARB? I prefer Ironman than ARB, but the dealer told that I have to install ARB bullbar otherwise the warranty will be void, for my wildtrak.

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  Год назад +2

      Should there ever be a warranty dispute, Ford would need to prove that the modifications resulted in an issue. Ultimately, with any modification you are changing the vehicle from its original specification so my advice would always be to careful consider your needs. If in doubt you can always reach out to your local Ford dealer for advice. My personal experience has always been positive when it’s come to warranty issues (previously owning a modified Mitsubishi) but you need to weigh up the pros and cons for your own situation

    • @CichlidStyleForums
      @CichlidStyleForums Год назад

      @@Perth4WDandCamping That's why it's so much easier with going with ARB. Certainly no disrespect for Ironman products, I had plenty on my Navara, but with my new Wildtrak, having all ARB accessories fitted are covered with a 5 year warranty, that is incorporated in the factory warranty, it really is a no-brainer. Better to know you have warranty coverage from the start rather than having to prove the accessory limits or voids warranty in any aspect. It's bad enough you have any problems, but worse when you have to waste time to rectify any issues when all you want to do is get is sorted and get your ute back.
      Lets look at the mods, if you're looking at suspension upgrades, tyre upgrades, electric shutter on the tub, maybe it's worth looking at the Wildtrak. I was originally looking at a Sport, but considering what I wanted, the Wildtrak comes with All Terrain tyres, bigger rims, electric shutter on the tub, medium grade bash plates, auxiliary wiring loom to dedicated (and very nice looking) switches, auto parallel and reverse parking, zone lighting, remote start, full leather seats, brake controller, b&O sound system, bigger infotaintment screen, better side steps, xenon LED headlights that turn with the steering... I'm glad I spent a bit extra on the Wildtrak to have all that up front. All I want to add is a bullbar, when installed, the parking sensors and front camera are moved and calibrated and covered under factory warranty.

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  Год назад

      @@CichlidStyleForums sounds like it’s worked out for you which is great and totally get the ease and warranty benefits you noted. Wildtrack had features I didn’t want - Eg sliver tray slide doesn’t look great on a black car and 31” AT offer more traction offroad, but are not by any means comparable to a 33” tyre off road. When it came to the bar I wanted to have a 12,000 pound winch and ARB bar is not able to support this. Essentially I wanted to get into the V6 and build it from there - but the beauty is there’s a few different models in the mix to cater to different needs. Generally always some compromise to get what you want.

    • @trickster8635
      @trickster8635 Год назад +1

      @@CichlidStyleForums I don't understand your warranty concerns. If the rear diff blows up, it's not because of the Ironman bull-bar. If the Air-con fails, it's not because there is a winch on the front. Ford will warranty it's product and Ironman will warranty theirs. If Ford are going to get picky, then you are already wiped by going to 33 inch tyres over and above stock!
