- This PMV was commissioned by Sweatpeachedtea on Instagram, all characters belong to them.
This is a project Ive been working on for a looong time and Ive had the pleasure of designing 3 of the cats shown in this pmv: Morningstar, Owlwhisper and Plumblossom! I loved working on this, hope you enjoy it!
The PMV tells the story of Morningsight and Owlwhisper’s friendship and how they both develop a deep bond with each other as they are considered ‘outsiders’ of Skyclan. They are almost like brother and sister and both dreamed of becoming high ranking warriors in their clan in order to prove that they matter just as much as their other clan members.
Soon after receiving their warrior names, Morningsight learns a dark secret that one of her clan members has been keeping from her for a long time. This sends the young cat into a spiral, making her become more jaded and cynical. She teams up with a medicine cat from Riverclan (Plumblossom 0:30 ) and the two conspire to take down the clans from within, recruiting other cats who feel the same way as they do. With the help of Plumblossom, Echosky (Skyclan’s medicine cat 0:27 left), and Ferretstrike (a rogue turned warrior 0:27 right), Morningsight rises to power and becomes Morningstar, leader of Skyclan. Owlwhisper is worried and becomes weary of his friend as he watches her become a shell of her former self.
After witnessing his friend murder the Riverclan leader Featherstar in cold blood, Owlwhisper decides to finally confront his former friend.

It’s interesting how two of the villains in the story are medicine cats. And since that role is fairly high-ranking, it makes me think that this big secret might be Starclan related (maybe even prophecy related) as opposed to them wanting more power.

Yeah that’s what I thought so too! Tbh an evil medicine cat would be very interesting to see in the real series

i can’t get over the way the last shot of them as adults fades into them sitting together as kits(?) and just holds on it as the music drifts off. it’s so cool and like nothing i’ve seen in this kind of pmv

I absolutely ADORE how the scenes of them when they're younger have little to no lineart. It really reminds me of children's books and their artwork :)
I love the tonal shift in this PMV, it starts out so sweet and wholesome, and it just builds this dread since I personally can’t remember an OC animation that’s completely wholesome and with the thumbnail you just know it’s going to shift into something horrifying or traumatizing, and then you’re just left in shock and dread when they fight and when that classic cat is killed. Then after they fight it goes back to a flashback of them being happy, reminding you so potently of what they lost and what used to be. This is so well made!!

I love the expressions, especially the one where the best friend finally sees they've lost their way when the fluffy cat clawed their face! Everything's all fast paced but you can tell what's what once the description is read.
