      So True! She considers a dress and no make up the way the happier ladies lived in the past and thinks that's when women were at their best. Got to give her credit for not joining the Sodom and Gomorrah lives of modern mentally unstable folk.

      It's been a great investment for hot days Puppy Safety. Allows you to take the collies shopping and keeps the truck very safe and cool while your around places that they can't go into. My bonus is just recent using it 40 miles south of San Angelo on a 3 day job with a few extra batteries I slept in the truck to save big $$$ on motel cost. Since my 2014 stroke, I have to have a close by cool down area, it's great on building sites.

    makes a lot more sense then spending who knows how much on repairing the AC on a 30+ year old truck, especially since you can remove/re-purpose it if the truck dies.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  3 месяца назад

      The engine in it is a 5.7, was replaced in 1994 under warranty with 37K on it, so the engine in it just has 88K on it but the rest is pure rusting 1990 Chevy. So when it dies the re-use of it is why we chose this. The truck was salvaged of all the in-dash and most under hood AC parts for a vintage truck the previous owner had restoring. He was also to take the engine and trans but got sick and we bought this one as is for $750. Already made 7 trips Texas to Idaho so good money spent with it. Now it is our Shed building, solar and wind turbine installer truck. Gets 17 mpg and my Ford is lucky to see 11.5 mpg. This summer I got over 80 hours sitting in it cooling off already. Love it!! Thinking on insulating and putting another on the camper box roof.

    What is the temperature reading with a temp gun at the vents and inside truck?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  3 месяца назад +4

      The output was showing about 9 Celsius but that was with the door sitting open. It normally runs 4.8 to 6 Celsius output temps ( 39 to 44 degrees Fahrenheit ) with temps like today of 92 degrees outside. When it's over 100 outside it will not get colder on the output than 47 to 48 Fahrenheit unless we sit in the shade. But it will keep the truck at about 75 degrees inside so works as expected. A modern truck is more insulated, this is a 1990 Chevy 2500 very stripped down on such things. I am putting in 6mm Heat/Insulation shield in it later.

    • @peckerpeter2078
      @peckerpeter2078 3 месяца назад +2

      @@JOHNDANIEL1That’s just at comfortable temperature 75°F , I set house AC temperature at 76°F that’s the best cost-effective temperature without the bill being too inflated, especially when outside temperature is 100+°F.
      Thank you for the feedback. Using those thicker sunshades for the front windshield and even putting some on the side windows would help insulate/deflect /reflect a ton of Sun to make it cooler especially if you’re just using that as a chill spot for workday and not driving a vehicle.
      Have you looked into those mini split cassettes could have a higher output in coldness and less watts/amps lasting longer I think they’re about the same price point …

      Does real good in a poorly insulated king cab truck, takes 2 in a 27 foot RV, but another we installed into a Casita RV trailer, 15.75 x 7.5 foot and it has been on all summer cooling for her She has 5 of the batteries I shown and linked below, but she just barely has enough roof solar, needs another 150 to 200 watts on the trailer to go all night so 1-3 hours is on her little 1500 watt generator to run it and boost batteries till sun up. I expect her to solve it this fall. It will need full power during main heat of day 39 to 43 amps, efficiency mode 20 to 23 amps is fine after 6 or 7 pm though. I am working with them the manufacture Futrun New Tech on a new Vertical in the wall inserted model design so stay tuned.

      Yes and No! Depends on the output of the alternator. You need 50 amps extra from the alternator to run them and also keep or add charge to the extra or main battery in your set up. Most cars can do it, almost all trucks can.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1

    @budgreenjeans 2 месяца назад

    @JOHNDANIEL1 can you run this type of air conditioner on the vehicles existing alternator?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 месяца назад

      Most modern vehicles 1990 to now are so hard core full of electric items that they can not run such a item on their alternators or wiring. Same reason you add a "winch battery" to run a bumper winch or a extra battery to run a large stereo system the wiring and power of most vehicles can barely run the car and keep its own battery charged with any constant draw over 25 amps above the car/trucks own usage. Adding a spare battery helps because when the compressor cycles on and off it can get more charge during off cycles to always run the roof AC units.

    • @budgreenjeans
      @budgreenjeans 2 месяца назад

      @@JOHNDANIEL1 how much does the AC unit draw at its maximum?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 месяца назад

      @@budgreenjeans Absolute max is based on rotor lockup and that would be 60 amps on this one. It should not happen unless you careless but that would be the rating on that. The max hot running re-start amp draw is 52 amps, normal cycling is 32 to 44 amps depending on your use. I can usually get just over 5 hours from 2 of the 100AH lithium batteries with temps outside under 95 degrees. Less than 5 hours with it over 100.
