  • Today's episode is Header Panel Replacement Project Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Part 8, and we put some serious work into fixing the front grill area. This Jeep got bonked in the front at some point in its life, and totally demolished the header panel that holds the grill, bumper cover and lights into place. Its basically the grill and headlight support structure. Ours is in about 30 pieces. This is a great fix for the Project WJ so grab something delicious to drink and join Uncle Jake and Dr. Torque as they show you today's video, Header Panel Replacement Project Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Part 8

Sensor behind the grill is the ambient temperature sensor. My 01 WJ header panel and grill are held on with zip ties.

So is our ZJ lol we’d bet probably half the rigs out there are. Thanks for identifying the temp sensor!

Fun project, love Grand Cherokees, especially when they still had solid front axles!

Yeah the ones up until 2005 when they changed to IFS are pretty amazing. The IFS are cool too but just something about a solid front axle!

Totally agree! How does it go? Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, and a dark side, and it holds the universe together lol

Seems like they usually are, our ZJ is the same. The grill can take a beating and bounce back but the header panel must absorb the impact because we find them all smashed up behind fairly decent looking grills all the time. Thanks for the comment!

Here's a kit with some other clip tools that we've found incredibly useful, and the price is pretty low. This has clips that do fit the Jeeps. Thanks for following up! amzn.to/3UR9ldL

Just bought a jeep with similar issues from a dirty lazy ass hippie that zip tied, taped, glued, you name it... Going to attempt this myself tomorrow morning. Should have expected this buying from a guy with massive holes in his ear lobes.

Luckily every part you could possibly need is available. And we always look at it like we're putting one more properly back together. Good luck with yours!!
