ZJ builds are honestly super fun. My ZJ was crap in the beginning but over the last 3 months I've begun to make her look pretty again. Dan you should honestly consider one piece headlights they are super bright compared to stock headlights.
Yea man, this ZJ totally made me fall in love with grand cherokees.. it completely opened my mind up to all Jeeps with a 4.0. I'd definitely try the 1 piece.. can I use my boslla bulbs in them?
@@ProjectDanH you can change the bulb in them. I personally eventually will change them to LED. The one piece made my baby look modern and sexy. Not sure about your stock headlights and taillights but mine had tons of condensation and in return when I replaced them had tons of water in them.
Project Dan H - You’re definitely a movie guy who drinks Corona Light and likes 20’s on his XJ’s.... yep, I know the important parts about ya! JK! 😎🤣 I’ve barely filmed anything and haven’t had any time to edit. Hopefully will get something out this weekend! Thank you for asking
Does it hurt when you pee? ;o) (Couldn't resist - I'm trying to find out why my '96 ZJ Orvis instrument cluster, power windows and a few other power items go dead after one second. I recently had the BCM and PCM rebuilt)
Hello Dan, I just wanted to pass by and to thank your for you info. It was because of your video that I got enough courage to change the header panel by myself. I have just bought a red 94 zj and I love your videos, I will definetly check your work. Today my fifth door stop working and, for my surprise, you have another video with the general on that too! Awesome! Do you have any video on top 10 or top 5 things to repair first if you have just bought a zj? Regards from Mexico.
I'm so Glad I could help and I'm happy you bought a jeep. The best things to do first are the fluids for the health of the vehicle and the brakes for safety. Next would be lighting and then a stereo for some sweet tunes 😁
LOL, Ill back that up by saying its impossible to find an unbroken ZJ header panel in the boneyard. This header panel was pulled from craigslist part out.. I ended up going back to the JY in Part 2 of this vid for more parts. Thanks for watching
@@ProjectDanH Lmao! You do what you need to do. It's a 20+ year old vehicle. Yes, the XJ interior trim tabs are a pain. I actually clear out the broke plastic, heat the metal part and press it in until the plastic comes through about an 1/8 of an inch. Then I bend the plastic over while it's still pliable. Works well, haven't had one come loose yet. Great content by the way. Keep it up.
Hey dan. jeeps looking great. ive been following your channel for about a year now i remember you having a video on putting LED lighting in your jeep. I cant find that video for the link that you had on it. Could you put a link to the video or to the website you had? thanks
love the channel, does this video show how to take it off and how much time is involved? do you think an amazon header panel will be ok, or do you recommend one from the junkyard? mine cracked right in the upper right (drivers side) corner when facing the vehicle while pushing in my new headlights, so I can either jb weld it with some metal reinforcement behind that or get a new header panel... Firestone is charging $250 to install the header panel and the lights... so I'm wondering if I can do it myself while I'm on the road or do i take it into Firestone... I changed the alternator in a parking lot, while on my road trip, for example... but I know these lights can have little plastic parts the break and don't quite always fit (like I already broke the header panel, or mine might have already been broken)...
You can definitely do it yourself.. take your time. Make sure you find all the little screws. Amazon panels should be fine . Junk yard ones are probably all brittle and old. Lol
@@ProjectDanH ive been in there before I just vowed Id never work on this jeep since I got it in very nice condition... my main thing is it behind anything like a cooler or condenser? do I have to take anything out that's in front of it, how hard are the little headlight adjusters to get transplanted? it's only $250 to have firestone do it, but if it's just right there behind the grill then that's easy, if it's behind some of those other parts then i'll have them do it... thanks for the response. right now I have the new headlights taped in and one wont stay in place and basically points upward at about a 5 degree angle so I have one going up and just one on the road... ha ha thanks again
@@VenturaIT it's not complicated at all .. just start with un screwing the grill. Then pop out the headlights. Then you can unscrew the side markers and turn signals. Then the header panel should be bolted on by like 8 some 10 mm fasters
I ran into that lens hole issue recently as I needed to replace my damaged one. Only one i found intact from two U-pulls, so I modified the hole to fit my harness. Still a snug fit!
I did this on my 97, but I pulled it off of a 95. I didn't realize they were different until went to put the grill on. So then I had to get a 95 grill, lol.
I'm going to replace my header panel and all the lights. Anyway the project on deck now is new front axles. And since I'm getting the front axles then I'm going to be getting new hubs of course, and I have been meaning to get new brake calipers and pads. And since I'm replacing the axles I might as well do the seals. So that's on deck. Oh yeah I might as well replace the ball joints while I'm taking all that apart. Lol
@@ProjectDanH yeah watch your videos of course. But I just sold that car and I bought a brand new 1997 ZJ with less miles with everything done to it already so the project is off the table.
Ordered a new header panel from rockauto hopefully it doesn't come to me warped or broken. I'm surprised my headlights stayed on as long as they did 🤣 my old header panel was in pieces
Your editing in these videos kills me, Danno!
Lol! I enjoy editing 😁... I probably spend way too much time editing!

You can do it!
Thanks again, sir. Going to change my FP, so watching you before it. :)

I strongly recommend switching to LEDs. They're more durable, brighter, blink faster, and use less power.
