I just received a penalty charge notice for driving through a prohibited vehicle type road but my payment is stating I am paying for a parking charge notice. That is not a mistake by them, is it?
Since when could you be fined before being taking to a real court… i think you need to take a look at the real law “the bill of rights” Penalty charge notices 🙄 they can send a “bailiff” but they have no powers of entry if you say no…tell the bailiff the council will have to apply for a warrant to force access to your property via a warrant signed by magistrate, which i believe has never ever happened, why because there silly penalty charge notices are not fines…the warrant the bailiff has on his first call is a “warrent” from north Hampshire county court business centre which isn’t a court and no magistrate or judge puts heir name to the warrant…
Correct, they are not fines. That's just a lazy term used by bad journalists and content creators. But anyone planning to use the Bill of Rights as a defence would probably be wise to look at how that went for Robin de Crittenden. Clue : not well.
The U.K.'s "parking rules" are full of so much crap it's amazing any sane person bothers to learn to drive in the first place. 9.9 of 10 roads anywhere has some bullcrap sign stating can/can't do this. What sort of idiots setup a place of driving like that? If you add up all the time people spent trying to read signs in different roads to see what stupid new "rule" applied in that area, you'd probably get an extra 5 years lifespan. 45 mins stay here. 1.5 hours there. 3 hours there. It would be a lot easier if "driving" was just set up in a reasonable fashion with a reasonable amount of vehicles on the roads so they didn't need all these stupid signs and limits everywhere in the first place.

@ unfortunately he must not of been knowledgeable enough.
@@ItsLifeJim007 Correct!
He thought the Bill of Rights applied to parking tickets and charges.
He was *wrong.*
@@stevenhodgson834 Parking charges or tickets are not fines do you not know that 🤣
@ItsLifeJim007 Oh, I've known that for _years._ That's why I mentioned it 9 hours ago.
It's also part of the reason de Crittenden failed in court.
