@@N3ukenInD3K3uken Exactly! Loads of these episodes have very mediocre shit music in it, this was a super impressive one that made me realize I may be looking in the right corners of the musical spectrum, but it still offered me some new stuff to listen to.
Roots of Chicha and Pomegranates are two of my favourite Various Artist collection type records. Some great stuff, and a lot of it is very accessible too. Good entryways into different styles of music that may not be considered "normal" here in North America.
As someone's who's into Afrobeat, Ethiopian music, Punk and Cumbia these two make me very happy. I didn't know their band, will check it out. Song presented in the video sounded nice, reminded me of Mystic Braves/Levitation Room/Early Allah-Las. But whatever their music is like if either of them ever invites me to come and check out their record cabinet, I will bring a notebook and I will be there :D. Thanks for a cool little list of music to check out!
I’ve been a long time watcher of this series and this has got to be one of my favorite episodes to date. They remind me of why Amoeba is such a magical place where soundscapes physically collide and you’re immersed in brilliance. Places like Amoeba are quickly disappearing because we’re forgetting how transcending music truly is. These women are amazing and the shit they find!!!!...all I can say is “Amoeba Forever.”
I am surprised that she didn't at least just mention that the Paragons' "On The Beach" also contained the original version of "The Tide Is High", which was made into a massive #1 hit in the US by Blondie in the 1980s.
She KNOWS. She's also gotta be approaching 40 at this point (old friend of mine). She just didn't mention it. Not mentioning something doesn't mean you don't know.

These ladies have their shit together
“What’s in My Bag” keeps reminding me that, actually, I don’t know shit about music.
Greg Friedler episodes like this keep reminding me of the opposite
@@N3ukenInD3K3uken wow you must be cool knowing more about music than others

I was just thinking the same 😂
They don't know three quarters of that music they picked. Some of the stuff is learned right before they do film

Never heard of this band, but now I'll definitely check out their music. Some very fine selections, especially from Rahill.

Awesome duo.
Great picks ladies, David Lynch!
Alejandro Jodorowsky tried to adapt "Dune" in the 70s. That would have been interesting.

Stardumb Records mostly releases Ramonescore/pop-punk bands such as The Apers, Zatopeks, and Groovie Ghoulies. Highly recommend their label.
Great selections! Numero Group is amazing. This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone making fun of the Dune movie though.
Nice pick with the international artists comp. Texas psych baby
I’m really surprised I haven’t seen anyone featured pick up a Spacemen 3 , Sonic record

I am getting these weird vibes that Leah is mad at rahill for something and rahill is trying to be forgiven lmao but I love these picks so much
oh yeah it was probably the paragons album theft

this shit reminded me that I’m so American. too fucking American. record store nerds rule, man..
She didn't mention that 'Johns Children' was Marc Bolans first band...is it possible that she's to young to know about him? That's so depressing.

@@cassaleelee Well .... yes.
Great choice of records by the way. All of them!
Right up my alley.
No need to be depressed then :-)

Man, i wish i knew two pretty ladies that loved the deviants. Or just one that would love a deviant.
They listen to a lot of old shit. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but how about anybody in the last 20-30 years?

Rahil has such a sexy smile.

Why is there a band called Habibi... that doesn’t need to exist
LMFAO! ! ! ! ! ! !
