DAMN!!! Coolest Willys I've seen! I have a soft spot for old Willys vehicles...I used to own a 1950 Willys wagon with a Ford 289 V8. Wish I still had it. : (
I'm Matt from West texas offroad. the guy in the video. thanks for doing the interview. a side note on the HP rating. I couldn't get it to stop kicking down into passing gear. that motor was built by industrial injection and runs awesome.
Hey Lake Rat Matt your interview and talking went into a whole bunch more detail than what was done on the truck. But I really was interested in the dyno numbers. I couldn't make it through the entire video because I get impatient I like the truck but I am impatient. That being said I assume its a 12v cummins to keep the electrical hassle down and reliability up. I didn't catch the transmission type or anything like that but I am really interested in knowing. Again beautiful unique very appealing Cummins Willys I would be really proud to call that mine.
Yes 12 Valve Cummings with a TH400 and 5.13 gears in the axles. Tires and wheels weigh about 175 lbs each so thats at least 700 lbs of rotating mass not counting the brake drums and hubs. Yes it is a nice truck, Kenny Hauk at Hauk designs is the buider and his TV show will air on April 8th on History Channel
Beautiful truck, and awesome detailing! Great video. And my OCD is telling me the tire tread is not the same, it's slightly off, at least on the left side. :)
I was telling my rucka if he drove that shit around in burque the cops would likely shoot him, they would first see the shifter and if that didn't make them shoot when they pulled him over they would see the interior door handles and definitely blast him and his occupant.
Saw this at the expo. The attention to detail is beyond phenomenal. I took a large amount of pictures of this truck alone.
That's a head turner.Love the sound of that diesel at idle.
Oh yeah man, it sounded just like MERICA!
this may be the most badass truck I've seen

at least he knew a good bit about it. most people they send out with rides like that know nothing about them. very cool build
Indeed my man! He was very familiar with it and willing to share :)
This looks like something straight out of mad max
It's too nice and neat for that. It's cool but it far away from being a rat rod like build.

As a Jeep guy, the only thing I don't like about it is the fact he called it a Willis instead of a Willy's. Beautiful rig.
TheLakeRat. No worries guy. Wish I had that parked in my driveway!
Willis is the correct pronunciation.
Beautiful. To have that kinda money I will keep dreaming

a clone of that would be awesome same mechanics and body but without all the decorative stuff
would be better if it didnt have the skull on the front. Very nice for sure.
