@@Furrina89his father Balaji bajirao had more than 1 wife. & looking at the devotional love, I cannot conclude this as just an affair. At the same time I cannot stop empathizing with Kashi. I ended up empathizing all 3 characters. It's true Mastani made a forceful entry in their lives and hence she is easily the home wrecker, but the pain she agreed to for loving Rao made me feel for her too. Her love for him was very pure. As I'm a spiritual person, there is the concept of Twin flame & soul mate. Twin flame connection is the strongest extremely deep & you cannot stay away from your twin flame once you Meet them. Introspecting on their relationship,i felt Mastani could've been that twin flame and Kashi the soulmate.
The most hurtful moment is when bajirao says 'sambhada' and panta takes a deep breath...

We don't have facts, this movie is quite fictional, so it's better not to comment on such issues. There were many kings who married more than once for cooperation, etc.

Padmavati was Hindu were as Mastani was not hindu. Mastani was from unknown territory to general Marathi people. Therefore people and his family members were against Bajirao.

My god this movie is fiction based on real historical figures, not real history. In reality Peshwa Bajirao was always busy with his military expeditions and governance, not like this. Remember those days military expeditions were total horror people would be out fir years not just months on a single expedition.

Mahadev Hingne , Peshwa's vakil in Delhi darbar had reported his death. He got a stroke bcz of high fever. That was the reason of his death. He developed fever on 25 th April that did not subside for 3 days and caused a stroke.
Mastani was put under housearrest towards end of December. In the 4 months, Bajirao did many things that were not shown in the film. So he died of the grief- is not the truth.
Think why, he did not do anything to take Mastani out of housearrest? Was it not possible for him?

There are many comments here saying Peshva, a great warrior, was reduced to a mere lover boy! It is completely unfair! This film is totally based on a famous novel (factual not fictional), Rau (राऊ) by Naganath Inamdar, which became extremely popular, when it was released. The novel was written by using many historical records available in archives.
In fact, we must appreciate SLB for depicting the whole life of Bajirao in less than three hours!
There were lot of Kings in India had many wives, and we read about affairs with other women's. But Bajirao is genuine not double standard but this ended his love.

Bajirao got a child from Mastani, he braught her to Shanivarwada, he granted jagir of Banda to Samsher, offered 2 villages for mahsul of Mastani, kya kiya kisine? To akhirme bhi wo Mastaniko support karte to koi kuchh bhi nahi kar sakta tha. Bcz power Bajiraoke pas tha. But the history is- he himself did not do anything to free her. The reason is- his reputation was at stake. After the boycott by his community and embarrasment in front of army put Bajirao on backfoot. He was not willing to show his affection for Mastani jab unka personal life became talk of the town. Bajirao supported Mastani only till things were confined to Shanivarwada and his family. He had already faced enough defamation and he had got the realisation of the situation. Agar Bajirao Mastanike liye kuchh karte to wo khud us batpe mohor lagate ke he has fallen for her. Which man will like that if people talk nonsense like that. The other thing is he was worrying about the upanayan of his sons. He wanted brahmins to establish relations with his family. You will know this only if you read his letters in those last month. So Bajirao of history was a practical man, not an obsessed lover.

What majak. The film is about Bajirao mastani.not Bajirao the warrior. In Mughle-e-azam we see Salim anarkali love not Mughal emperor Akbar on the battlefield.
I deeply empathized with all 3 characters..Being spiritual person, Mastani was Rao's twin flame which is strongest and deepest of all connections. It is Divine. Stronger than soulmate connection. Once you meet your twin flame you cannot stay away from that person. The spontaneous connection between Rao & Mastani,the pain that Mastani agreed to for loving rao and the synchronicity between the two confirms it. THey died together. They could feel each other's pain despite the distance.Kashibai was his Soulmate connection.
