That reveal was pretty hilarious! "Does it look familiar?" lol I'm not an architectural photographer, but I think the reason it works so well for selling houses and kitchens, etc, is that the photos have a kind of a surreal look to them, and people subconsciously think they're buying something larger than life, and not just a bog standard normal house.
Loving the iPhone/flash videos please keep them coming. I would love to see a high dynamic range landscape where you use the phone and larger profoto to light pop the foreground to push this combination to the limit.
This was great. Haha I actually think shooting "flambient" with the iPhone HDR and then using the flash could be pretty interesting. Still a very slow and clunky way to work.
I'm curious why the receptacles/outlets on the wall would need Photoshopped out? They look fine to me, and are a part of the structure. Even the faucet looks fine to me.
I wonder why did all the other Company Godox Yungnou and GVM etc did think of this technology. Profoto is came up with the idea which will definitely cover the vast market people who use Mobile Camera for photography people who wants to take phone photography to the next level. Other brands still chance to make it work either through a simple Bluetooth device or can update firmware. I am so surprised to see profoto coming up with this kinda technology for mobile. From past two years I was searching surfing internet for such products didnt find many but now if it is there it is so expensive for mobile photography.
Super cool that it can sync with a smartphone, but $1500? No thanks, I can get a real camera with a transmitter and multiple wireless flashes for that price.
Its easier to get more grain on a phone camera because the sensor is almost half the size of a Dslr. The moment you start blowing the image up, the more unclear the image will get. It's the same deal you got with film cameras with smaller sized film. 35mm can be blown up more clear then 16mm size film. The image may look good from a distance but the moment you get closer for detail it won't be great hense why you should stick to a dslr for professional work. If the client wants it at a bigger scale you're not stuck saying you can't.
@They Caged Non well if it's so obvious then why isn't the point made in the video?? Instead they act like the phone camera is capable on a professional level when it isnt. Yes it's much better then it once was but it's still far too limited. It more suitable to train the basics then use professionally. They sound so baffled when the telephoto lens added more grain to the picture.
haha im not sayin that im gonna rush to buy this, but this is how advertisements should be made, good job! :D but i admit the end result with the image is good and mike's reaction..god, it's priceless. also you've forgot to promo the fstoppers live youtube channel ;(
This is where we are (unless you are shooting LONG exposure or Sports (short) shutter speed) the only people who can tell the difference between a smartphone vs a camera are... Photogragher (and photographer needs to process post in Lightroom/Photoshop to get what the smart phone got thru software...
Anyone with an iPhone should buy three of them... I'm kidding. It's certainly not worth $1000 to only use this with a phone but it's a cool extra feature they've thrown in and it's worth buying only if you plan on using it with a real camera most of the time.
Yes photophones are getting better, but they're also getting a lot more expensive, an iPhone is getting dangerously close to the price of a Fuji XT3 or XT4 for example... And those take 4K videos with insane low light capabilities...
I don't know....If I were a client paying real money for a shoot, I would not be comfortable knowing that you shot with a phone, no matter how good it is. Put yourself in their shoes and "mask out" the bias from your mind for just a second.

That was great, Lee! The photoshop stacking tutorial was an added bonus!

This was a great video. I want to see more "fool a pro photographer" videos. Well done!
I thought it was pretty good. But why did you crop it?? I liked seeing more of the chairs in the foreground
I think it was better before the crop. The chairs are totally cut off. All you had to do was straighten the image
I agree
I think result is great. Pro photographer can find a lot of wrong details, but I don`t think that my mom can find anything. So, its great.
Bullshit! Moms can find anything.
Its all about the level of criticism you're comfortable with
Always enjoy the interesting perspective you guys worked out even on a product video. Good job.
Profoto is smart to do this. This has had my interest super piqued. After seeing you and Patrick demonstrate this feature, I’m sold.
I wasn’t aware how far cell phone cams had come until I started actually shooting so much stuff this year with my iPhone SE2. Amazing for what it is.
Perfect easy to follow tutorial. Great stuff.
I'm convinced that Lee only wears shoes when the temp is below freezing.
Same. I wear flip floppers until there is at least half foot of snow on the ground.
He lives in Puerto Rico no? It's 80 degrees there in the winter.
It looks so good!! Great job Lee. Very fun video as well, you should do more of these videos, or something similar :-)
One of my favorite videos from you guys. Hilarious!!!
I would’ve liked to see Mike recreate the image with the iPhone and Profoto flash...
Expected famous photographer but got Mike Kelley
Buuuurrn
Can u make a video for model shoot with this light
This was great. Haha I actually think shooting "flambient" with the iPhone HDR and then using the flash could be pretty interesting. Still a very slow and clunky way to work.
You have done a good job.
Good to see his reaction when he realized it was just in the same apartment😅
Two lights, two soft boxes, one photo, done. Omg!
Laptop model? Trying to find one that's good for gaming and photography.
Video title should read, "Famous Photographer Tricks Mike Kelley"
^this guy knows what's up
I'm curious why the receptacles/outlets on the wall would need Photoshopped out? They look fine to me, and are a part of the structure. Even the faucet looks fine to me.
Professional Photography with an iPhone ....... Lee, you crack me up🤣🤣🤣
More "Versus" videos of Lee and RUclips Photographers!

@They Caged Non If you're looking to get a rise out of me you're going to go unsatisfied.
What about the result of story telling photo contest
I think fstoppers should change the name to Profoto commercials
now do this with iphone 12's raw feature (when that comes out)
This was hilarious 😂
Nice try! Mike's a stickler for arranging the room though!
haha im not sayin that im gonna rush to buy this, but this is how advertisements should be made, good job! :D but i admit the end result with the image is good and mike's reaction..god, it's priceless. also you've forgot to promo the fstoppers live youtube channel ;(
Whats that cool looking laptop?
This flash would be more for portraits or products though.
world famous lmao
Culver City Famous -P

I’m sorry but at over $1000.00 it’s not for the amateur photographer just wanting to have fun. Is it right for a pro photographer?

🤗 so fun
try google pixel photos theyre the best.
Godox did this, 2 years ago 🤔
Was thinking the same.
I thought the fella in the thumbnail was Adrian Bliss

But phones have 3 lens. I'm not trying to backup the phone but add 3 lens on that Xt4 price and its way more
I already despise the ergonomics of small cameras such as the RP or a7C. I wouldn't ever use smartphone for a shoot
Waiting godox analog for 300 usd)
You forget to denoise and sharpen)))
I just realized that spiders are air fisherman
I just realised you copied that from somewhere and fishing for likes
You used the "chair" layer to paint the wood floor. I think that hurt it.
I'm so good I got the perfect lighting on the chairs and floor in a single frame.
@@FStoppers That's called efficiency!
Why would anyone buy an $1100 flash and use it on an iPhone?
world renoun
AirDrop ;)
If nothing else I'll bet the owners of that AirBNB would love to use that photo for their listing.
that editing doo
wow its expensive
I DON'T SEE A TRICK, COMBO OR SNATCHCANNON here ... seriously.
That pic is just crappy. But the capability is great
I thought your image looked fantastic.
