    I am not sure who is in charge of the development of their cash shop, but I think it could have been implemented much better. Especially considering how much of an RP community this game could potentially attract, the entire shop could have been reworked to get the developers more money without looking like they are being underhanded in their practices. I know you said this is not the forum in which a discussion should be had, due to the nuance and back-and-forth involved; however, I just wanted to voice my feeling that if you can't buy anything with the lowest pack of Palia coins (let alone anything with 1 Palia coin), I think the mechanisms of the cash shop are fundamentally lacking integrity. I will still play the game when the open beta starts, and I might even still buy something from the cash shop to support the developers in the work they have done thus far. That being said, the credibility of the development team, in my own opinion, has been damaged in how they implemented this system. Thank you for making this video and putting into perspective the server issues as well as the cash shop.

      I should mention, the cash shop is something that is fine to discuss, the problems are fine. What I think is extremely nuanced is the "why" of their pricing module. It's very complex, and I did have this conversation on twitch livestream. What I found is it took a lot of back and forth, and a lot of explanation to get through the weeds, and most people don't really care. If the number is high, they scoff. This is the area that I think is too nuanced for youtube comments, as you really need to be careful to make sure that others actually understand what you're saying.
      But yes, I recognize the issues with the cash shop, and I know that people will want to voice them, and that is fine.

      This is something I have a problem with. They advertised the game to be partially about dressing up your character, but then they sell new clothes in full packs for 20+ dollars. Why they didn't go the BDO route and give the option to just buy a hat or some shoes definitely doesn't sit right with me. They even have the wardrobe where you can see all the options, yet didn't make them available to be purchased right there separately.... just 20+ dollar outfit packs is what we get. So much for "micro transactions".

    It's shady that they're selling colour variations instead of making us dye the costumes. What modern mmo makes us buy colour variations?

    • @HandleUnclear
      @HandleUnclear Год назад +2

      Every MMO I have ever played that had dyes makes you pay for dye colors that were one time use.
      I would say Palia could add dyes to the cash shop on top of what they are already charging for.

      It's a free game, what do you expect? I hate this freebie model. As long as the game doesn't implement a monthly subscription, I will not get rid of my WoE account.

    I still remember the explorer outfit from trailer, it appear many times so I was hoping that I can earn it through gameplay without spending money. I mean... they can't just tease paid item like that in a supposed-to-be-cute-and-relaxing-trailer right? I was wrong...

    The first place I came across where I would probably spend real money was when I ground out enough gold to buy the first inventory increase (500 gold), and then saw the next increase was 10X THAT (FIVE THOUSAND GOLD). Right *there* because I had such a nice experience my first day playing, I would've PAYED $5 real money to forego the ridiculous amount of grinding it will take (probably 10 days worth) to gain 5,000 gold in game. I'm telling you, there should've been a choice, and I would have shouted "shutup and take my money!" They missed out right there.

    Hi, really enjoying your perspective on this game. So, the problem I have Is I would rather pay 25$ for the actual game. Not everyone can afford the extortionate prices In the shop. Seems like the agenda Is Looking the Best In the game rather than having exciting content to keep you playing. At least that's my opinion and what age group is this aimed at? The look of the game seems to me to be attractive to younger groups from a parent's point of view It's in no way affordable to pay those enormous prices and seems to exclude low-income families which to me widens the gap. My experience was having people with the new shop sets running up to me and just standing there showing off, saying nothing. In the scheme of things though, It Is free to play, and rather than throwing money to the shop I would like to see a richer storyline, and gameplay which I would happily pay for from me a disgruntled dragon, Thanks, and keep up the good work.

    Yeah it's like the cash shop is harmless right now, along as you can still get more free customisations ect... and the cash shop stays like is, not needing to be pay to win. Then I'd say its fine. Gotta get that bag somehow.

      The problem is, the current version is illegal and opens up S6 to a multimillion dollar lawsuit. But whatever, get that bank.

    well, the shop for cosmetics is in line with other games I play, prices are everywhere as high, *BUT you don´t need those things, and so you do not have to buy them!!!*
    I myself do not spend my RL money for things I cannot posses RL, and it really does not hurt my bottom what others might think about me, if they want they can spend me a crate or whatever.

    I actually hope they will implement some kind of season pass. I know a lot of people do not like that.. But I would love to have something to grind towards, and also supporting the game instead of buying super expensive things from the cash shop.

    What do you propose they do instead of what they're doing now to generate revenue when buying clothing cosmetics isn't enough to sustain running the game?

      I have a couple of examples from my first day of playing. 1.) I *thought* upon collecting enough wood to make planks and enough rock to make stone blocks that when I contributed enough of both to the building of my house it would INSTANTLY appear. NOPE. EIGHT HOURS OF WAITING to see my house appear after playing the game for AT LEAST that many hours. Had I been given the choice to immediately see my house built, and then go grinding to fill it with furniture, I would have PAID TO DO IT. They could've got me for between $4 and $8 right there. 2.) Inventory space. After grinding for hours to build up 500 gold to buy the first inventory expansion, I saw that the NEXT inventory expansion would require FIVE THOUSAND GOLD. There's another $5 I would've spent to skip that nonsense. Between $9 and $13 the FIRST DAY. But there was no choice to pay to skip either one. They missed out.

    i come from mmos like bdo, eso, wow and albion so maybe its jsut my ignorance talking but if i am understanding it correctly, the cash shop is cosmetic only? if so, why is it still pay 2 win in the eyes of most gamers? when do we say its not pay 2 win anymore? is league of legends and valorant pay to win too because they also have cosmetic only cash shops? and if so, what constitutes a non pay to win mmo? really curious about people's thoughts on this.

    • @Sidrouf
      @Sidrouf Год назад +1

      i mean, did i miss soemthing? does cosmetics give stats or help you progress in the game? or is an entirely subjective thing and a player can progress without ever interacting with the system? TBH, i kinda prefer higher prices for cosmetics like these, it means that f2p players like me get to play the game without the devs putting wierd sub fees/value packs/ premium monthly payment just to keep up with paying players. i mean, its an mmo. id rather they get their money from skins like league and valorant than make a system like bdo or albion or,dear god, wow tokens, jsut so that they can keep their servers running.

    • @DoitiEtokNews
      @DoitiEtokNews  Год назад

      There are no stats on gear, its cosmetic only. The only reason I would call it pay to win is because I view completing my own goals in the game as winning, and cosmetics allow me to do that. This is not the most conventional definition, which is why I mention it every time i talk about the subject

    people confusing pay to win with pay for convenience
    i dont like p2w too after playing online games since the late 90's when internet became more reasonable with dialup having option for unlimited usage compared to before of having a $10 monthly but only for limited few hours then extra $5 an hour after exceeding that limit
    anyhooo p2w is where you can buy to help progress thru the game like bonus exp, power, etc, and in many games battle passes as whoever buys give an advantage over someone who didnt spend
    buying cosmetics that doesnt boost anything falls under pay for convenience
