“Looks like Thor cut him down to size.” “....that’s what he does.” You can hear a lot of sadness in mimirs voice. He’s seen Thor butcher a lot of giants. 😔
In the actual story Starkad rapes her and gets her pregnant. Her son has a child who is also called Starkad and is his reincarnation. Thor hates this reincarnated Starkad because he wanted to have Alfhild for himself and so he curses Starkad 2 with many curses but Odin gives him many blessings
Man why are the giants in today's video games so abused Original God of war had the Titans working as slaves, in #4 the Aesir try to exterminate them. In Dark souls Giants are made fun of, experimented on, and tortured. 😖 It just doesn't make sense, is it out of fear of the Giants, the need to subjugate, or sadism.
Giants in Norse Mythology were usually the antagonists in Norse Mythology, they also will have a major role in Ragnarok as the destroyers of the world, other times they would be the source of misfortune for the gods, and Loki was the son of a giant as well. I mean they are considered to be as powerful as the Aesir and Vanir in both mythology and in the God of War series... hence why Odin sent his best to take care of them.
I suppose it's a little hint that he's of a different Mythology (Maybe Celtic Pantheon). Mimir, himself, implies that he isn't from Scandinavia. "There comes a time in every man's life where he changes his name and heads north to start a new life. If you live long enough to do this many times over; you may end up as far north as this place." He's also travelled a fair bit serving as an advisor to a Faerie King, among others, before he met Odin. :-)
Why do Kratos and Atreus have American accents when one is greek and the other is part greek and part scandinavian? Don’t think about it lol. Mimir’s voice is endearing.
Man, a giant not even Thor wanted to fight alone?
That's saying something right there.
I think Surtr is another example. Odin has Ravens at his forge and has access to Mus. My guess is that Surtr could fucking wipe Thor.
@@gumbydizz3842Surt literally destroys universe in myths. He causes some kind of "new big bang"

Starkadr sounds like he could well be a match for kratos, lets hope there paths cross one day
FreshMack A he's dead tho
Has that stopped anyone in this franchise?
Felix Farside true
he's dead
There’s at least the possibility of time shenanigans
Anyone else curious about the elf-queen's story? XD
are you aware what a Size Queen is?
Hey ... probably in god of war that's the real reason why light elves fight dark elves

Can't wait for Kratos to give Thor a big, *BIG* hug
And crush him in his arms
His legend is very disarming...
Lmao, get outta here
yep give him a hand
That pun is both perfectly written but still kinda of in terrible taste.
These jokes are getting out of hand.
@@t-rexcellentreviews1663 Yea it´s handfull
Is no one gonna mention how similar this giant is to the hecatoncheires
Well not really that similar. The hecatoncheries had 50 arms
@@jhevgainz2307 50, 8, what's the difference? :D
More like atlas
@@redninenine_ 42 arms
😮
So excited for the next game

Starkad really did have his arms torn off by Thor
Is there a panel shrine that doesn’t end in Thor killing them?
Bergelmir the Beloved, the First Giant King Father of all Jotnar, his story doesn’t end like that.
How about the ones ending with Odin killing them?
It’s sad really people would believe what they hear rather than see with their own eyes
I hope kratos use his time travel again and bring the legendary jotunnl.
Imagine starkadr battling
This is the saddest to me. Fuck Thor!
Starkads vs hecatoncaris
Can you do thamur next pls
You are a prophet SIR

If this game is supposed to be in a Scandinavian world? Why is Mimir Scottish?

Mimir isn't from Midgard he traveled there to serve Odin
It was also hinted that he's Puk from Celtic mythology
He was a Celtic deity in this universe.A trickster god nonetheless.

Starkadr…? Sardaukar…?
Anyone know how to open up this place? I don’t know what key I need to open it up
Is no one gonna talk about how the box sound from cod zombies when kratos opens the ruins?
I first thought it reads Skratadr...
