BioShock 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by 2K Marin for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.[9][10] The sequel to the 2007 video game BioShock, it was released worldwide on February 9, 2010. The Mac OS X version of the game was released by Feral Interactive on March 30, 2012.[3]
The game is set in the fictional underwater dystopia of Rapture. The game opens with a cutscene set in 1958 then jumps 10 years to when Delta wakes up in 1968, eight years after the events of the first BioShock. The protagonist and player-controlled character is an Alpha series of Big Daddy, a being that has been mentally conditioned to protect Little Sisters which is amongst the first of its kind. The player-controlled character Big Daddy, named Subject Delta who was previously paired with a single Little Sister, reactivates with no recollection of the past decade's events and scours the city in an attempt to relocate the Little Sister that he was paired with. Fearing this reunion will ruin her plans for the city, Sofia Lamb, the antagonist, sends out her spliced up followers that she calls "The Rapture Family" and new Big Sisters in an attempt to deter Delta.
In 2010, the game was included as one of the titles in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die.[11]

This game has brought me to laugh, to tears and to deep thinking. There is no other game I know which has moved me so deeply.
The last of us had that effect on me, but this series is very unique and fascinating to explore.

Same here, top of the list for a reason I guess. Loved the BioShock play through, was mind blown at the story. Its the look that always drew me, love the art deco mixed with the vernien/steampunk theme. it being underwater just makes it that much more to draw you in, ive always wanted to play the game but never got around to buying it, so thanks to youtube I get to watch these awesome games I know I would suck at like movies. :D
Well, in answer to your kind request, was just looking a play through of Bioshock, and came across yours. Decided to watch it and and LOVED the way you played the first one and kept watching after that. So far, your first Bioshock LP is the only thing I have watched, but definitely plan on watching more of your stuff.

I got here the same way Daniel did last month - looking for a Bioshock playthrough, and I liked the way yours sounded. I LOVED that you tried not to skip or talk over the story points, and you're fun to listen to. You've played several other games I'm interested in too, so I'll probably be around for a while.
I found your channel because my friend and I had watched Bioshock infinite together over the summer. I told her she couldn't watch the burial at sea episodes until after she had seen the first 2 bioshocks but I didn't know anyone on RUclips who had done a decent play through so I spent a day searching. After a few tries I found your play through of Bioshock and I knew you were a good choice. I didn't want to send her to someone who was going to miss everything. You aren't quite as thorough as my dad but you do a very good job. Thank you.

Hey Mr. Odd- I found this series since I'm long since hooked on your videos. I'm reading the novelization of Bioshock "Bioshock: Rapture" by John Shirley, and they apparently reference some events from Bioshock 2- so I have to bone up on my videogame lore!

To be honest, I usually don't watch to many complete LP's, but after watching the first episode then second then third.. i still don't understand why everybody hates bioshock 2 to me it's a fantastic game that builds on the original mechanically and still manages to tell a very compelling story that has a different (but not bad) feel compared to the first

I still read everything yes. Have you tried any ambient occlusion settings? B2 is terribly optimized on the pc sadly. I can't even remember the settings.

What I really like about your game play is that while you don't know the controls right off the bat, you aren't infuriatingly bad at it, and you don't talk incessantly during the entire game and then miss important plot points, like so many others.
I found you through your Bioshock let's play. I am a fan of LPs in general, but something recently got me interested in looking up a playthrough of Bioshock, which I am unable to play myself. When I looked up playthroughs, several came up, but yours looked the most professional and complete. I am happy to say I was not disappointed. I subbed partway through your B1 LP, and was eager to jump to 2 when it was over. I plan to watch your others when I am finished your Bioshock playthroughs.
I had a few favorite moments personally. My overall favorite moment was the final episode where Jack finally gets the family he deserved. If you think about it he went from having no family to having Tenenbaum, the five Little Sisters, the Sisters husbands, the Sisters kids, and maybe even some grandkids! More of my favorite moments are whenever Mr.Odd fastforwards or slowsdown the videos cause the voices just sound funny, when he says Yoink, and when he gets freaked out by something.

One thing you should look for is the other audio diaries of the dad.There's at least one diary from him in each level detailing his journey to find his daughter.

Just finished bioshock and watched some of your let's plays of that. Now Replaying bioshock 2 and watching your playthrough of it in tandem! Bioshock 2 is my absolute favourite pc shooter game and ive replayed it about 2x i think, i love seeing other people's reactions to playing it!

My favorite moments from the first LP is when you beat the Big Daddies and was ready to "do your magic" on the Little Sisters, and you felt bad for them,and the first time, it sounded like you were actually conflicted, even though they are just characters in a game. I'm the same why. Even if they aren't real, I could never bring myself to harvest one of those poor, crying girls.

I would say my favorite moment in your Bioshock 1 LP was the first time you took down a Big Daddy and saved a Little Sister. I was on the edge of my seat, because in the few minutes of the demo that I played, I saw the scene with the Big Daddy protecting the sister, and I seriously thought that it could not die. Then you had to fight one, and it was fucking intense. I honestly thought you weren't gonna make it for a few minutes, and was relieved when you pulled through and then healed the sister

I love how everyone makes the same mistakes playing this game, not knowing that during the Big Sister fight you can't die no matter how much she hits you so everyone wastes their health kits and rivets, drill fuel and their eve hypos to defeat a scripted event when they can just stand still and do nothing and make it out alive. This and a later event, all in the beginning.
Oh, yeah. Awesome Matt G and I were discussing Mass Effect and he told me your Let's Play was awesome, so I checked it out. Then I decided what the hell, I'll watch all your Let's Plays. I'm going through them in alphabetical order.
Really that's how I find most of the people I follow on YT: I search for videos on a particular topic, and if I find the makers interesting I usually end up watching everything else they have to offer.
They don't actually ever explain it. It's for you to find out. Bioshock 2 isn't really tied in with Bioshock 1 very well.

I found your channel after seeing a Roosterteeth Let's Play of Amnesia A Machine for Pigs. I wanted to see the whole thing and I liked your voice and commentary. Since then I have watched A Machine For Pigs, part of the Dark Descent, and all of Portal and Bioshock 1.
13:50 music choice here was great, as all ost of the entire franchise imo. 'Daddy won't you please come home' as a first tune and at the same time Tenembaum and the little sister told him to meet Eleanor. Come on, wasn't that another genius touch of production/scripting...

Very glad you're already starting BS2. Like I said, prepare to tear up at the end. (or at least feel emotional, or nothing at all, iono). Just watching the intro, reminds me of how much I love Garry Schyman's soundtrack score for this game. First time ever that I actually bought a game soundtrack on iTunes (Zimmer's score to Modern Warfare 2 was another one).
Heads up for the game: next to little sister-saving, there will be other choices where you can be "good" or "bad". Changes ending a bit.

Favorite part of Bioshock 1. I'm not sure. I enjoy watching playthroughs for what they are. When you were deciding on tonics and plasmids, I thought about what I would equip. I really enjoyed watching you work your way through the puzzles. I've never had the chance to play Bioshock myself, so when I saw that you had played it, I started it after I finished all the Half-Life walkthroughs. I think that was my favorite. The puzzles and working your way through new areas and exploring.
Laughing Mrs. Odd equals happy?... I'll try to avoid thinking of what that really means.
That being said, my favorite Bioshock moment is actually seeing your first enemy. Before, you were descending into Rapture, and you could see what the city looked like, thinking, "OK, there's gonna be a hub area with safety, and areas with quests." Then you see the splicer... and it starts attacking, and you have no weapons. Really, the whole situation is one where you preferably should have brown pants.
So remember, this game wasn't made by Irrational, they didn't want to make a direct sequel. So there might be some plot holes, like the vita chambers.
