Once a year detailer here. Started with a shinemate and recently upgraded to lhr3 15. Difference is night and day, chalk n cheese. Next buy will be a Rupes lhr75.
Torq Q,10Fx and 22D Maxshine pro 15mm (Hate it) it stalls pretty bad lol Maxshine 550 rotary Dewalt,Wen,Harbor Freight rotary Amazon china 21 longthrow polisher (Trash) lol but fuck it 80$
Lot of work on that Hummer~!! like you said, having extensions and different backing plate to your Rotary makes it the most Versatile Tool !!!!! Love it!
I have way too many polishers to list, even I have lost count on how many, probably between 70-100 (yes overkill I know).Hummers sure are a challenge to work on, I don't usually look forward to doing those haha.Good job bringing it back to glory, it was in rough shape.
I did some wet sanding on a 2013 Chevy 1500, it was black. That factory clear coat was hard as a rock! I own a body shop and it's a lot easier with fresh clear I'll say that much
I just ordered a Maxshine M1000 to go along with the M8S. Looking forward to trying it out. Thank you for all of the rotary lessons! If I lived closer I would head down to you for a class.
Hey Brian, nice video. Have you seen the new Meguiars products being released recently. The Hybrid Ceramic liquid wax and its quick detailer. Also, their new pro line products. Would love to see a review on them. Thanks.
I have a cheap 90$ max shine, but I’l like to have the something simple like New G8 for tight areas and G9 to have something a bit nicer. I don’t need the Mercedes polisher I won’t use it enough to justify big price.
The first thing i thought, oeff a lot of work!! haha an antenna smacking you in the face, that could hurt :). You really need a rotary or a geared DA, a regular DA would stall a lot and you never get done i suppose?
Wow what a difference Brian, nice 👍, do you have any videos on working decals, my 2013 challenger RT has wide red hood and fender hash decals with very minimal swirls in it that I’d like to improve on
Hi Brian, great video ! I am however interested in your test spot. When correcting customers cars I am beginning to be more and more finicky about the finish of the paint. For example at 7:09 in your video you can see a very slight hazing after you have finished down. Is this an acceptable level of finishing and what does necessarily count as an acceptable level of finishing ? To remove that slight haze would it be classed as jewelling? If so would you charge extra for that to be removed. I'd love to see you make a video on this as its bugging me alot, as I feel like I'm cheating sending the car out like that, even though the customer is always over the moon with it! Thanks again !
Brian, I think i would cry if a customer brought me a Hummer...thankfully not too many of them in Finland :) It would be lovely to know how many hours went into this.
Great video Brian... Harbor Freight has a new polisher out was wondering if you can review....it does compare it to rupes in its review... so it has to be good....
Hi Brian, based on your response in a previous video, this would be the same setup you would use on BMW clear coat, right? Regarding polishers, I think I am going to get the Maxshine Pro 15mm. If money was not an issue though, I would get a Makita. Finally, thanks for showing the passes in real time, gives a real sense of arm speed. Thanks!
Maybe off the subject, but whats the best way to remove CG HydroCharge. Can i remove it with one of their v line compounds(i have one bottle of each)or maybe their VSS Scratch and Swirl Remover,or should i get some 3Done?The HydroCharge has been holding up very well but i have some TacSystems Moonlight ordered that i want to try out.
Whats your favorite Rotary?? Is it the Shinemaster/Maxshine M550 or the M1000 or other? So you only need 1 Rotary on which you can use 1" all the way to 7" backingplate&pads ??
Your the best Brian, if i lived in the USA instead of here i would love to spend some time as a trainee at Apex, however i live in th Netherlands so its kinda far :( . Also some known detailers told me the DA polishers from Maxshine are rubbish, i have the M15 Pro now and it works great. Used the Rupes LHR15 but that one stalled a whole lot (It was one used for training purposes so it could be defect?) and i was not happy working with it at all. I will go for the M1000 then :)
Apex Detail thank you, is the tape different front regular old painters masking tape that 3M makes? Does it maybe have a tougher membrane face for preventing scuffing? Just curious if I could use the blue tape for masking too? Thanks Brian.
A little constructive criticism. At the 10:54 mark, this is the first time I’ve seen you post what rotary buffer swirls/haze actually looks like in person. I’ve always thought to myself in your rotary buffer videos, when you show the haze, the finish always look A LOT better than what it would look like in person. I’m NOT suggesting you’re trying to hide anything, I just think the finish in your videos can be a bit more accurate at times. Maybe it’s not possible to pick up on camera. 🤷🏻♂️
@@apexdetail85 Can you do a video discussing automaker's paints and what you enjoy working with and finishes well, and what is lesser quality? Do you notice big differences in the quality of the various automaker's paints?
List what polishers YOU own.....or would like to purchase soon. :)

Lot of acreage is right ✊The Hummer is a big boy with lots of contour.Excellent job Brian 💎
I have a FLEX 3401C, a big variable speed Makita rotary. And a porter Cable variable speed polisher. A good start, I think. JP in SD.
Stunning results Brian with the blue pad and the 3D One on that test panel of the Hummer!

A panel prep or IPA would remove that residue. If the customers budget allows...you can surely add an extra dtap. this customers budget does not.

Which rotary are you using there? Looks small

I love my Alpha but thank God it isn't black. Too much of a PITA to deal with
Horrible orange peel. That was probably the most expensive cheap vehicle
Hummers are horrible! cheap trim, cheap paint, cheap clear.😔
