This episode always feels like a "backdoor" pilot for the three guys. All had done a fair amount of TV/film work when this one aired. So, they wouldn't have been the cheapest option for actors to play these characters.
There's a photo out there floating around of Sophia and Mr. Mitsumo in the living room, in their bathrobes, with looks of surprise on their faces. I'm guessing that there was a cut scene (maybe to close out the episode) of the other girls coming home and interrupting the two.

They should have put Rose in her place when she started being all loud and rude. At least one of them should have responded by screaming like a drill instructor that they weren't tolerating it.
The gardener was played by Keye Luke. He played Charlie Chan's oldest son in 13 of the old Charlie Chan movies. He was also in the tv show "Kung Fu".
