"... I'm stealing your money!" "I know, Dorothy." That line is like a punch into your guts... big time! Rose is such gentle soul and... she has a very unique kind of wisdom that surprises you again and again.
Sophia and her defense mechanism: 'thanks, you human mattress' & 'thanks, you human speed bump.' 😂 in the end, Rose helped Dorothy, overcome her gambling addiction. the same way Dorothy, helped Rose, overcome her pills addiction.
The "Mondale bumper sticker" line doesn't surprise me all that much given that Walter Mondale's running mate was Geraldine Ferraro, not only the first female VP candidate but also the first Italian-American to run on a Presidential ticket - so its believable that Dorothy would have been a supporter. That and Ferraro debated George Bush, who Dorothy makes no secret about not liking (to put it mildly).
This episode is hands down my favorite of the "addiction" episodes so far. The moment in the kitchen with Rose where Dorothy tries and tries to get Rose to give her money to feed her gambling issue and Rose sees through it because she believes in Dorothy even when Dorothy doesn't believe in herself. Rose is the emotional heart of the girls and I've actually used that little psychological trick when I know someone is trying to deceive me but I don't think their heart is in it. This episode is the first episode I clearly remember watching and sticks with me to this day.
Yeah, Rose gets the MVP here i loved that scene in the kitchen but Rose should know ur not “cured” after her own addiction issues. Still great episode tho. And the “constantly changing underwear” i think Rose meant liviing days 2 at a time u would have to change twice as much so at least twice a day instead of one. Btw why is there always a “new math” Shows from the 60s, 80s and now there’s always a “new math” so i wondered what math I learned one of the “new” maths or old math ? 😂
@@AlexxaReacts Would you be willing to react to designing women It's a similar show maybe not as good as Golden girls but I used to love that show too I think you would like it and it'll help feel that Golden girl void...❤
It's convincing for Dorothy to be a gambler--and previously a smoker--but why can't Rose paint a horse?! And that dork from the museum isn't Blanche's type! Was this the only actor at the audition?

"I've spent the best years of my life trying to give you a sense of moral responsibility!"
"Ma, what were you doing in my purse?"
"Stealing."
"Why Donald, i see by my WATCH that you're right on time!" 😂hahaha
Just discovered these. They're great! Thank you!
And I love seeing another generation enjoying these girls! They're timeless! 😊

Why would she be able to paint a horse?
@@dupersuper1938 She lived on a farm!
@@jons.105 All farmers can paint?
@@dupersuper1938 Apparently Rose has artistic talent.
@@jons.105 But can't paint a horse from memory, which is perfectly reasonable.
