The day I finally learned this in tarkov was when I started to get a lot better. When I first started I’d always sprint to my objective. I’d run all the time and die out of nowhere. Once I finally slowed down and walked most of the time, I started surviving and winning more pvp engagements.
yep exactly and this is why people think the audio is bad because they run around everywhere and the person who is walking hears them first it's pretty simple really

I think the best non-meme advice I've ever heard Sam give out is to MAIN 1 MAP. I did the same thing when I started and I can recognize a discolored pixel a kilometer out. You put me on reserve, streets etc and I'm dying to a scav.
And with time do that with all maps and u become a god
Big this. I'm not great on keyboard and mouse but I am an elite rat when it comes to Customs. Put me anywhere else and I'm lost or just get 1 tapped
I got 2500 hours, if you put me on streets it’s like I’m doing my first raid. I am always so lost on that map.
Been doing this with Scav runs on Lighthouse. I know routes to stay hidden from everyone, and I’ve started to figure out the safest times to drop in on the dead rogues and grab some of their higher end gear. Made almost $500k this morning off of two quick scav runs that way

If you walk slightly slower than the default movement speed, you are guaranteed to hear the enemy before they hear you, allowing to get the drop on them 100% of the time (unless you hit a bush, ADS, or swivel)

Very untrue. Most of it depends on the ears you use. If im using comtac4s and youre using regular comtacs or m32s, im hearing you walk before you hear me sprint.

Personally when I find something valuable, I haul ass to the nearest bush to dive into, wait 30 seconds and then haul ass to the next bush I see and repeat the process 😂

If you just walk at max speed and occasionally hit caps when I you think you hear something, you’d be surprised how often you catch people full sprint and you’ll have enough time to crouch down and line up a shot on them. Another good trick to know is when an enemy enters your ring of hearing, you’ll hear them produce a fairly loud stepping noise as if they just did whatever movement they were doing as they enter your radius but it sounds like it’s right next to you and that’ll be a sound que you can listen for if not that then faint footsteps out of sync with you
beat advice for beginners: tarkov boils down to basically who HEARS and who SEES each other first. yeah there is dsync and all sorts of problems. but if you play with the assumption someone is always listening or worse can see you. youll survive way more raids, youll win way more fights. and youll be surprised how many people WILL sprint right up to you with reckless abandon.
Another good advise, have a goal, go to that spot, do your thing, leave the map.
You can always come back to the map, but the stuff you already found, e.g. quest items, are worth to be brought out.
Dude, I walk everywhere at the beginning of wipes. You miss all the dudes that run in and run out, you're nice and quiet, full stamina bar, it's fantastic. It's one of the best things a newbie can do. You can run in as you get more comfortable with maps, but still walk. Explore. Smell the flowers. Calm gameplay is actually surprisingly good for allowing you to hear all the sounds and absorb the map layout and landmarks, which is the single most important thing for a new player. It helps you get loot out safely too!

My first two wipes I adopted the philosophy of Walk Don't run. Be slow and methodical but don't drag your feet.

Slow and steady wins the race. It's also just simply harder to see targets that are moving calmly and slowly. This is used in hunting, as well as actual combat. Though this is usually paired with quality camouflage. Regardless of how slowly you move around, you will be seen if you have a bright red or blue outfit on.

Yes take it slow, I sometimes just keep looting, seems to work better than just trying to peace out. Or like Customs, I just chill out in the middle construction site and just look around for 10-15 minutes before I go to exit.

The maps all have a flow, you go through looting and shooting then to extract you stay with the flow. You find something too good and try to rush out you're breaking the flow, you'll catch all 20 players on your way out
Same thing if you sit in one place for a few minutes too long, everyone on the map is gonna go through the same spots with the flow if you sit there especially after gunshots people are gonna be around

My advice for anyone wanting to play after 4k hours and this being the first wipe I haven't played. Remember it's a game and if you don't have fun or it angers you just don't play it this company will forever make money of cheaters so don't worry Abt bsg if that's what drives u to play this game they will survive

My advice to new players try one map at a time.
Good advice, I would say get familiar with Customs first because you have a lot of early quests there and it's also decent loot if you learn the stashes locations

Clear areas. All times, and at every opportunity you encounter a new area. Specially if that’s a possible spawn point or area of interest and you should successfully get head eye’d anyways because that’s the game.
Moral of story: do you best and expect your worst, unless you get burnt out of it and start ratting like a lot of people do.

What? We fought in the First World War because of a tangle of national alliances dragging everyone into conflict over a regional issue. There was no "fascist" governments at the time.
We fought the Second World War befause Germany invaded Poland. The Nazi party had been in power for 6 years by that time. The Italian fascists has been in power longer.
We didn't fight either war to stop "fascists shutting down the debate". The Royal Navy supplied information to the fascist side of the Spanish Civil War and many of the upper class supported the fascists throughout Europe so the fascism wasn't that abhorrent to the British government it meant automatic war.
