If you want more live symphonies in the same format from genshin I definitely recommand "Sumeru" and "Inazuma" - the first one is for the middle-eastern inspired region of the game while the second is for the japanese inspired region!
Absolutely, there are some other live performances from the genshin soundtrack as well but, those two are definitely the ones to check out next.
Would be great to compare the other regional tracks that are part of bigger concerts:
Mondstat: ruclips.net/video/UIam8zl4af8/видео.html
Liyue: ruclips.net/video/8svl0sQXDLI/видео.html
Seconded!
The wine glass instrument is called a glass harp and the glass tube-looking instrument is a glass harmonica.
The glass harmonica interestingly enough was invented by Benjamin Franklin, to make the glass harp wine glasses easier to play.
@@TheCsel Its also devilishly easy to break and can cause very bad cuts when that occurs.
cleverly, glass is a form of liquid, physically speaking, fitting the water theme of Fontaine
You should definitely check out more of Genshin's OST!
The music in Genshin definitely stands on its own feet, and can be - and should be - enjoyed in concert halls, without leaning on the game.
Which is exactly why Genshin is currently having a World Wide Concert Tour, taking place in 8 different countries around the world! Hopefully something that becomes a tradition with Hoyoverse music, because they really do deserve it!
There are a bunch of live performance videos, similar to the one you just saw, on the Genshin channel. I would recommend you check out the Sumeru one next, in which the music is from the area in the game that is inspired by Middle eastern/Egyptian/Indian music and culture!

Yup. Genshin always makes an effort in the game's music.
Fun fact, the Fontaine region in Genshin is based on 1800 or Victorian era Europe (majority based in France) hence the inclusions of the said instruments in the said region's music.
You opened the box of pandora...but in a good way
Genshin Impact is full with amazing music, definetly worth to dig in
Sumeru and Inazuma live symphonies 🤯🤯🤯
Also liyue live symphony and many epic boss themes
Genshin doesn't copyright their music so you could react to the others soundtracks. There are 4 regions currently wity its own cultural sources. The one you reacted was from Fontaine, a France-inspired region.
The first music is fontaine's main theme. You will hear it played inside the main city in the evening (if I'm not mistaken).
The second music is the battle music. Maybe that's why it's frantic, as you have said. You will hear this when you're engaged in battle in the open world. There are more battle music for the open world and domains other than this one, and they're also really good!
During the day, not evening
@@Jevjevjevjmore at dusk if I remember correctly
You never actually hear it in game, what’s in game is similar to it but is actually Le Souvenir Avec Le Crepuscule. It’s the in game version of the main theme like Whirling of Leaves and Petals is for the Sumeru main theme.
Could you please also do "Lamentation et Triomphe"? It's also from Fontaine and there is live promotional MV on the Genshin's official channel. It is basically a battle song you have a chance to hear while fighting regular mobs in Fontaine region. I think you'll like it. And thanks for your genuine reactions as always^^
genshin have 7 different region, and those region really different in culture based on real life nation. and each region represent different elemental atribute. Fontaine is region of Hydro element, and its based on France. thats why they use that weird instrument like that cups and glass harmonica. these instrument really need water to operate. so yeah because this's region of hydro/water
I'm so in love with Genshin music, always nice to see someone new to experience it!
The tube looking instrument used on second half is called "Glass Harmonica" if i recall correctly. To give a context to what the musics are inspired by. IRL inspiration for this particular location in game, is in fact, predominatly France, with some tinges of other european stuffs.
Fun fact: Benjamin Franklin invented the glass armonica
So I just realized another person commented this 2 months ago…
Genshin's music is inspired by real world cultures and a specific element. There are 7 nations and 7 elements. This specific nation Fontaine is inspired by France plus some other western europe references, and the element of water/hydro.
This is why the music feels like raindrops, rain has a very significant cultural connotation in Fontaine.
There are two released orchestra videos like this. There's Sumeru the nation inspired by south Asia and the middle east, and the element of dendro/plants. And there's Inazuma inspired by Japan and the element of electro/lightning.
I kinda wish hoyo would go back and make symphonies for the other two nations Mondstadt and Liyue.
The first song is sort of grand introduction and theme of the new region, that is somewhat based on france in the industrialised age, with the theme of water, which results in the sort of steampunk and gilded age of magic. of the late 1800s. It acts as an introduction song, but is also used in some pretty emotional moments near the end and the song really adds to the impact of the story.
The First half is the main theme of the Region and the second is the main battke theme.
The strange instrument you saw on the second song is a Glass harmonica, it's an extrêmely rare and damn difficult instrument to master. Apparently there's only about 1 or 2 in the entire United Kingdom. This instrument also declined in popularity for it's difficulty on being played, and also while learning it, some claims were made about the sounds of the instrument driving their musicians mad or depressive for some reason.
Hoyoverse acutally said in a documentary they made for this video, as the backscenes of this live symphony, that this instrument was terrible to master in such a short span of time, and often it would make terrible glass scratching noises that would make everyone in the room grind their teeth.
Now i'm wondering what will they bring for Natlan the Nation of war and fire.... it would be funny if they hired the Metal band Rammstein since they are crazy into pyrotechnics during their performances xD.
Its also devilishly easy to break and can cause very bad cuts when that occurs since the glass segments will break and continue spinning with the rest turning into essentially a glass saw on the finger it touches. Theres a video on youtube I saw a few months back featuring one such master and he shows some of the many scars on his fingers from the deep cuts hes gotten from both practice and in-concert breaks over the years and his main point wasn't "yea, the cuts are terrible" but "blood messes up the tone".
loved your reaction hopefully you react to more of genshins music! The composer Yu peng chen was the main composer for genshin and lead the way for composing pieces with a very wide variety of instruments and all of his pieces are great. Although he recently stepped down from his position to pursue other dreams the team over at hoyo mix never fail to impress me with their music
sumeru one was really good ...i would highly recommand that orchestra
The second song is one of the regional battle song that plays during combat, so it is a little faster paced and full of energy. It feels very fancy but also fast like flowing water, so it fits the region of Fontaine well. It also briefly incorporates the leitmotif of the song Photon of Fluctuation in Genshin, which keeps popping in its battle music and almost feels like a theme for the main character even if it is very subtle.
Hi! It's my first time coming accross ur channel. Just to share, In the game, this particular piece plays when a player alerts mobs in the overworld, when exploring Fontaine region. It always amazes me to see someone react to genshin music outside of the game. It makes me appreciate the game on another level. I mean, to think this isnt even a boss theme🥹 also, if you havent seen it yet, they uploaded the full recording of Genshin Orchestral Performance 2023.🌻
The amount of tears shed with the first song omg I can't hear this track and not think about the events that happened T-T
The "glass harmonica" and "glass harp" have come into a bit of a resurgence recently as instruments: they nearly disappeared due to the increasing size of venues combined with there being no really practical way to acoustically amplify the naturally quiet sound of a glass instrument. Nobody came to see instruments they couldn't also hear. (Also, glass parts are very breakable and take at least a bit of effort to replace.) While microphones and speakers may have made the instruments able to compete with the rest of an orchestra, it took a while for there to be any demand and they're still pretty rare.
You could argue the glass harmonica is actually an American instrument, but Benjamin Franklin was in France when he had the idea and used local crafters so it actually showed up in that country first.
What do you consider "recent"? Since glass harps have been in steady use for a number of decades now
@@annaairahala9462 Given both instruments are over two centuries old, and given the length of the armonica's (apologies on my typo earlier, which I'm preserving for posterity) decline in particular, I would consider the 1980s to be a recent revival.
You should go back 5-10 seconds every time you pause
You need to check more genshin osts
The Genshin Impact music team has behind the scenes videos of the composition for each region of the game. If you want to see them, the videos are on the official Genshin Impact channel with the following titles:
- Genshin Impact OST - Behind the Scenes with the Artists
- "Songs of Travelers" - Behind the Scenes of the Music of Liyue
- "Travelers' Musings" - Behind the Scenes of the Music of Inazuma
- "Travelers' Reverie" - Behind the Scenes of the Music of Sumeru
- "Travelers' Wanderings" - Behind the Scenes of the Music of Fontaine
The reason as to why they have this type of sound, with the glass harmonica and the accordion is because it's for fontaine, the nation of water and is heavily inspired by france!
The Armonica is an instrument of interlocked glass bowls on a rotating rod. The bowls are partially immersed in water keeping them constantly wet. It was invented in the late 1700s by Benjamin Franklin.
There are so many good Genshin pieces to choose from if you wanted to continue with them.
Fontaine is ruled by the element of water, glass physically being a liquid fits perfectly

Would request listening to "rapid as wildfires" and "dance with the vortex" if you want to listen to more great Genshin music
Genshin is art , its masterpiece . And then they are players like : Where rewards ?
I love everyone’s reaction to the armonica/glass harmonica! It’s always “What the hell is that?” “What??” “What the hell is this?” Or something along those lines
yeah genshin music so good.
man I love glass rubbing
I think the "guitar" you were talking about is the mandolin
5:10 is a mandoline
All sountracks of Genshin was writen by Yu-peng Chen and recorded with London Symphonic orchestra, Tokio philharmonic orchestra and Pekin philharmonic orchestra. So i must say Genshin OST one of the world class orchestral music
Not all soundtrack but mostly such as Die-Mittsommarcht Fantasie and all Dessert battle theme also wasnt composed by him
And The whole Fontaine Ost was not composed by him but Dimeng Yuan and Arcangelo Chen
@@YuuSoujiyou forgot Yijun Jiang and Qian Ding and other composers
@@YuuSouji U right, forgot this
blud been living under a rock
While Genshin's OST stands for its own, the coolest part of Fontaine's OST is that it uses phrases, leitmotivs as Operas usually do and, in this nation's Archon Story it's SO on point. The OST forshadowed the whole thing in a subtle beautiful way, the way once you've played it all, you understand the piece more and it makes you like it more
here are some more recommendations
la signora battle theme
raiden shogun battle theme (all phases)
sumeru live symphony performance.
Now sumeru live symphony
Free to play game btw.
Furina is waiting in Fontaine to judge you 😂
Please react to Sumeru and inazuma symphony next!
Every single piece of Genshin music is really good, really really good on its own. Comparing to Studio Gibly's music which not every piece is good or stands out.
Actually for me the grand part of the song portrays the hydro archon or the the god of water FOCALOR which fontaine is her domain or city
genshin doesnt copyright their music
Waiting " All devouring narwall theme" and cutscene " The sinner's finale" !!! 🥰🥰🥰
Your voice needs to be louder when you do reaction content.
Hoyoverse is a music company that's masquerading as a game company.
How do people even get music and get the rhythm of it while continuously pausing in middle..
It ruins the flow of the music/ rhythm and makes the music unlikeable at 1st glance 💀
