- The story of two unlikely friends and where it began . Going for a walk in our local park changed our life when we came across an abandoned magpie who we named Molly . Our English Staffy Peggy nurtured this lil bird by producing milk and this is where the friendship began .
They are just the sweetest animal friends

My father used to feed and look after magpies like Molly. One fell out of his nest and had a broken leg. My father nursed him. He came back with his partner. For years and years when my father had his memorial, service a magpie, walked in to the actual memorial, place looked around, made a little noise and I feel today it’s my dad please free Molly and take her home it’s too sad. They’re beautiful birds and she’s living a great life. She’s living free she’s living with the people who love her and she’s just a beautiful bird magpies are wonderful please free Molly she has to go home to where she free she’s looked after and cared for not stuck in some cage. wildlife cage . send her home, and let her come and go like she has done. They don’t have in a cage but the wildlife people do. So who is the cruel people here THE WILDLIFE. TAKE HER HOME if wildlife has a heart let the little baby go home to her friends, you’re being cruel.
Exactly. I know the authorities claim the magpie is happy in their care, but of course their going to say that.
They don't know Molly like his family does. I really hope being locked in a cage by authorities hasn't caused the bird to become depressed or lose trust in people.
It never should have happened. Molly's family knows what's best for molly, not some authority who doesn't even know the magpie!
The irony of all of this is DESI (Dept of environmental science and innovation) who took Molly away are the very people who allow thousands of trees to be felled every year and do this ... Save more trees so our birds have somewhere to live and shelter.. You go Molly enjoy a long , happy and fun-filled life with your furfriends 💯❤️

Have been looking for a post where comments have not been turned off about these two. Media posts have turned off comments about these two 'love birds' being seperated.
Some mean hearted scumbags have complained about the magpie ( a native bird in Australia and not allowed to be kept by just anyone) and so the Queensland Gov Department has stepped in and taken the Magpie away.
It may be illegal to keep as a pet, but this bird was saved as a chick and has bonded with the dog after all this time.
The family who saved her - two humans and one extraordinary dog - have been posting their love, a book about the pair's bond has been in print for ages, news outlets have had 'feel good' segments with them ... but now because some mean spirited human or two can't recognize something special and rare between two species, has made enough of an issue to cause this unhappy and forever situation.
There is a petition to try to have Maggie returned to her 'family' that she has bonded and loves.
They have good intentions, I understand that, but wildlife are simply not meant to be kept as pets.
Why won't they give the bird back it's no harm to anyone it's one in a life time

@@-AwarenessAbsolutely agree, Molly had the best of both worlds, total freedom without condemned to live in a cage for life.. now? No. There are strict clauses for his fam to ‘abide by’ for Molly to be returned home.. these include caging with ZERO interaction with other domesticated pets 😢

To even remove him now is mindless stupidity

This whole thing has been devastating cruelty to Molly, Peggy, whole fam, from start of their interference to ‘maybe’ a chance to having him returned to his beloved home..
Icing on the cake are the ‘clauses’ this poor fam must agree to - caging him 24/7 and ZERO interaction with Peggy and pup just for starters..
So goddamn Cruel 😢💔🤬
BEWARE OF FLEDGLING BIRDS that are NOT abandoned but just sit in grass or on trees. research what to do before kidnapping birds!
