The choice of bear symbol and colors scheme looks awesome! The only part I question is the white border on the shield. I wonder if it would look better as a black border. Cannot wait to see the minifigures!
I too liked it, but also thought the white border around the gear made it look a bit... too busy. Just leaving it black would work fine. You already have the colour contrast with the green and red backgrounds, so the addition of white around the bear isn't needed. I do like the look though and also like the alt styles of the other two sub-factions and the flag. Looking forward to seeing how you further develop this concept in terms of style, lore, even the type of architecture they use. What will make a Bear Knight structure visually different? What activities are these knights usually doing? Where are they located? Which other factions are they allied/opposed with? Do they have a particular weapon, vehicle, or even activity they excel at or are at least known for? All of these sorts of considerations will affect what sorts of sets you would create for them.
I do like the idea of a faction that is midway between the Castle Knights and the Forestmen. Has the potential for some great minifigs and set designs.
@@brickstarsofficial OF COURSE they ride bears!! That would be frickin awesome!!! Hmmmm.... on second thought, what if they rode horses usually, and used trained bears as weapons, kind of like a "K9" division, except more deadly - "K10"? Anyway, then you could have a separate sub-faction like the Bear Beserkers or something and have THEM be the ones who ride bears and they would look more like barbarians, wearing bear headdresses and stuff. Basically, you have the majority of them being civilized, but one group, the throwbacks to their past? who are still just savage! 🙂
@@brickstarsofficialI picked up the Forest torso’a few months ago and the Blue dragon knights torso’s and shield stickers a few weeks ago! Love all the work you guys do!
the bear reminds me the coat of arms of the city of Bern (Switzerland) or the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden... During medieval times, heraldry had some rules like metals should not be placed on metals and colors should not be placed on colors. each color (tincture) in use in heraldry has a meaning. so the choice of colors should be linked to story, here the lore, of the dynasty/house/family... Symbols have meanings, which is obvious, but also how and where they appear. even the color splits have a purpose, etc... it is not just random stuff... one thing, colors were chosen to be easy to see from a far distance and easy to recognize the bearer(s). vibrant colors, with high contrasts is important. They had some concern about colors durability, which (I think) explain the reason that some colors are more used than others...
For sure - we've always been fascinated with heraldry. This one doesn't follow the rules 100% admittedly, but good points to keep in mind for the next design
@@brickstarsofficial Just like in video games, fun is more important than realism. Lego castle themes aren't very realistic (not a criticism, just a fact). I follow your work because I've designed several minifigures myself. Right now, my main Lego goal is figuring out how to build a pad printer at home or create a way to print on Lego with the same quality as Lego. So far, it's a failurek. My second goal is to develop a mixed reality app where I can bring Lego castles into my home. Keep up your brilliant work!

@@BDD_Builds good point we did try grey border and green but will give black a shot. May make some tweaks with that input thanks! :)

It is pretty close to the cmf bear knight no?
I mean color scheme and animal is the same
@@johannescampe9125 it is similar for sure but different enough we think
