One of corneo coliseum fights you can do in 24 seconds by prioritizing clouds triple slash. I was getting around 230-240 ap for the ap up linked materia. Made the 5k grind easy.

The best farm spot, after you reach Hard Mode. Is to jump back to Chapter 17 [Hard Mode] and access the advance Shinra Combat Simulator Beta v3.1.6. The Battle Challenge you want to do is "Three-Person Team vs Mayor Is Best" set to Easy Mode. Equip Aerith with 2x Magic Up 5★, First Strike 3★, Thunder 3★ + Magnify 3★. Equip her with Mythril Rod + Accessory that offer +10% M.ATK. Set Quick Combat shortcut for Aerith to use Magnified Thunaga. Such as hold L1+X to cast it without going through the menu. Enter combat with her as Leader.
Now equip Cloud/Tifa with the materia you want to level up. If Aerith have spare slots, equip those materia on her as well that you want to level up.
If you have a fully max'ed out Aerith in M.ATK, around 500+, she can 1 shot the Cutters. If you can't 1 shot them, usually a few more basic attacks would finish them off. Ending the battle in 3 to 8 seconds (if you 1 shot them) up to 20secs if you still have to continue with basic attacks. This allows you to earn 90AP to 120AP per minute, if you're quick. For some materia that requires a lot of AP exp, like the Element Materia, use Ap Up on it. You can earn 7500 in under 32 minutes with AP Up.

There's a infinite item exploit involving one of the vaults that gives you a couple of Moogle Medals and various items. It's a Save and Load job as long as you don't leave the vault in the Northeastern vault, it respawns all the items and Moogle medals for quick items for use or sell.
Other great farm is at the start of chapter 16. Go through all of the parking lot and fight the enemies and then repeat.
is this only after you beat the game?
I'm still in my first play through and no enemies respawned

That was a great tip for farming AP. I was able to get my last elemental materia up to par. I was finally able to get past Bahamut and take down Pride and Joy.

The experiments in Hojo's lab respawn indefinitely, so if you optimize equipment for those enemies, it's quite a good spot
What I've came to realize there is not much in gaining Exp. and AP just play through all the chapters completing the game twice and you can bet all your characters will be level 50 and most of your materia will be maxed out.

I don't play, but when part 2 releases I hope you guys are able to import your character progress (money, items, materia, etc). It would really suck to find out that when part 2 begins your party had been robbed of all belongings and reset back to noob status like Ash at the beginning of every pokemon series.

I've done this farm with Aerith equiped with a magnefied and maxed Thunder materia and both (at the time low level) Magic Damage materias equipped to her. Easy claps even though all the other materias were just there for AP, including the supporting characters.
After some testing though, I came to the conclusion that doing the "parking lot" fight at the start of chapter 16 (Into the belly of the beast). Just going through those fights with a maxed and magnified Fire materia along with Magic Damage and a few MP materias on cloud, using the Mythril Sword, the ATB scarf and First Strike on hard mode is overall more effective. (easy mode if your materias aren't up to snuff yet)
This method has been discussed by other people. The moment where you can take out a group of shinra soldiers with one magnified Fira is when you are good to go. At that point, you should be able to take out the C-class Soldiers and dogs with two Firagas on hard mode. (one if they are clumped up together). The dogs are also easy to stagger, so if they are alone, you can conserve mp simply by beating them down. Once you've cleared out the last enemies in the parking, just re-load the chapter and repeat as many times as you need.
Sure, it'd be faster to get the kills on easy, however the difference in speed is not great enough in Hard mode to make it worthwhile to stick to easy once you're strong enough. Doing it through hard mode cuts down on loading times and the number of times you need to "run to the parking lot".
Have you tried Chapter 16 Garage section > chapter select and repeat?
Just boost Cloud with all Magic+ you can get First strike MAgnify=Fire and clear it in ~2mins

Go to 2 vs High-Flying. Round 1, immediate triple slash, 2-4 cast Firaga then clean up, Round 4 you need to use Barret ranged attacks. I was able to clear in about a minute on average.

I use the beam slash ability on the first wave of max mons and that usually clears out all of them in one shot

I can confirm with same setup, I’m farming 00:40 - 00:45 seconds each High Fliers challenge with about 180+ AP each time.
All enemy skill can be obtained from both battle arena and vr arena- phantom, smogger & last boss from legends in vr missions
Drake is found at colosseum 2 player battle for all 4 skills needed
I just did the beginning of chapter 16 over and over (the garage under the Shinra headquarters). You get tons of money and AP (around 280 per run through). I could easily do it in 8 min, but I also decided to steal from the special forces enemies down there as they have turbo ethers, one of a handful of enemies that do, and it added roughly 4 min per run. Did that 30-40 times and maxed out all my Materia, as well as maxing out my turbo ethers at the exact same time.
They aren't respawning for me :/

I found the best place to farm EXP was in in chapter 9 in the Colusseum - Two-Person Team vs Slum Outlaws. The Huntsman gives like 750 Exp each kill and he appears twice. I thought this was a bug since it was so much higher than anything else in the arena. I farmed this for a couple hours and by the time I left I had Cloud and Aerith level capped and a lot of my materia Maxxed.
All materia maxed, except a few 4/5 hp & mp ups. Tackling hard story mode for some manuscripts to beef up some weapons before trying to tackle the 6 & 7 star battles to get the goddamnring, then finish hard mode story with that.
Is it possible to do a character build video ? Like best accessories and Materia for that specific character
Which chapter do you do to get Aerith on your team for VR? Do you have to do the whole hojo arc again and back track back down stairs after you rescue her?
*AP up only counts for the materia it's linked to, via materia slots, not all party members and all materia. It says so in it's description.*
Using Chapter 16 Parking Lot with a level 6 Hardedge (137 Physical Attack) on Cloud with First Strike and Max Out Fire + Magnify you can get through it on Easy within two minutes maybe never really timed it but it goes by pretty quickly since you can just spam Cloud's Triple Slash if you have become proficient in it.
Use an electric elemental materia link on your armor and you're immune to electric damage, the only hard fight in that challenge.
Yeah, I was so glad when I learned about how that elemental materia could make me impervious to lightning.
Chapter 16. Give Barret Magnify + Fire. Then First Strike and every MP Plus and Magic Plus you have.
Start chapter 16. Classic. Run down. Start gauntlet. Every fight, use the Triangle ability for Barret to give him 2 ATB bars, then Firaga every group to hell. You can clear the to the glass doors in about 2 minutes and with way, way more EXP and AP than this. And for free.

Belly of the beast is a better why I personally think, sadly you have to skip 3 cutscenes and reload but you get to take a third character with all them slots to level Materia, load the chapter, skip cutscenes, run down grab the two items from the chests runs down, skip cutscenes encounter x3 (it’s 6 packs but it’s treated as 3 fights) pick up the Molotov cocktail and mega potion from chests get to the shinra building and start over, between triple slash and fire3 magnified it takes me about about 1 maybe 1 and a half minutes on easy from the start of fighting till reload (I wish you could skip right to the fighting as the running down bit is really just an interactive cutscenes) you get about 10k Gil a run and a good chunk of AP I was already 50 when I finished the game so I can’t say how much EXP you get but ied guess it’s also a good amount.
ap is 279 normal and 558 with the AP up, run time from reload to reload is 4 minutes 48 seconds with me messing about with breakable boxes and having some really bad rng were everything spread out so tripal slash and firaga all missed some and i had to run to them.
someone mentioned you can just start chapter 16 and run through the hoard of shina guard dogs and troops over and over and get hundreds of AP in a short amount of time with zero gil cost

This is the best farm for Xp, Ap, and Gil. Using simulators is much too slow.
I personally run cloud with fire+ elemental on any swors and atb booster maxed and triple slash on L1+square. That way you have instant truple slash and kills in one hit
High fliers on chapter 17 simulator is much faster than chapter 16 start. The only down side is you have 2 characters instead of 3 but that hardly matters since there's only a handful of material that needs 7500 ap.
Best way to enjoy the game by level grinding like the original is to start a file on normal. Clear an area youd like to grind, save, then load the manual save. Monsters and boxes will respawn. Good classic way of farming exp and ap. I did it as early as chapter 3 with tifa AFTER completing the first quest from biggs and wedge.
Chp 16-279 ap and +/- 10k gil. Exp is not needed since you’ll most likely just need less than 10 runs to hit lvl50. Also this is per run and justf equip mag-fire and first strike and you good. Just fill in the rest with materia you need to max. Another adv this has is that you have 3 characters to use and thats 6(3) slots on weapon and 4(3) slots on the armour instead of the challenges where you only have 2 ppl in your party lvling up the materia instead of 3

The atb is broken the ally ai doesn't work 90% of the time. Can't fill atb standing so I switch then cloud stand around. Great walking simulator they made. Have to beat the game to play the game
Question... Could you use the extra Gil materia to earn extra Gil when completing the challenge? Like if you get 2000 Gil would it be 4000 instead? Great vid btw

Dont miss the pedometer materia at Aeriths house take 5000 steps and it transforms into ap+materia
Another strategy is to quit the last fight if you have enough gil. It takes me about 20 seconds to reach last fight and about 30 seconds to defeat draco, it does not worth.
I find that the Colosseum is the fastest and by far the EASIEST way to get AP and exp earlier than actually beating the game. I made a guide on it too!

Yeah, there is no chapter selection before completing the game and I wanted to get Bahamut before Chapter 15. Already maxed level and maxed HP, all materia maxed except HP or MP up materia. Collapsed Expressway and Colliseum always a good hunting ground.

Why would you give Cura/Revive to the character with the least amount of health.
Give it to Barret, tank healer...the person with the most damage prevention and health should always be the healer.
Aeris has magic power at the roof (just like in the og game), and her atb bar fills like a rocket with the right configuration, so you can spam magic atacks and prays/ chakra to keep the whole team alive, give her some elemental+ enemys used materia against you and cakewalk most of the game on hard, Rude is tough since his attacks are scripted to broke your immunitys so stagger him asap and broke him, later when he teams up wth Reno, smash Reno first.

Honestly, I have been farming a bit in Chapter 14 arena before continuing the story- trying to max my magic materia's for Chadley. Now I know you get x2EXP and 3xAP post-game.. I might just wait and do cleanup for trophies afterwards. I planned to NG+ anyway. Does the EXP/AP bonus carry into a NG+?
there is no NG+, closest to it is just going from chapter 1 onwards via chapter select which you get along with hardmode.
also i 3 man teamed battle in the arena to max out all the magic materia for chadly and it doesnt take that long even without the triple boost. and the final summon is great so i would reccomend finishing that before moving on honestly.
The bonuses do carry over and not a bad strategy to go back and redo some chapters to collect stuff that you missed. I didn't end up getting Disc 26 - Let the Battle Begin Remix luckily I needed to go back to get Dressed to the Nine trophy.
While these are good places to farm gil, exp, and ap, chapter 16 garage section makes this look cute as a grinding spot. Grinded there for 30 mins and got everyone from lvl 40 to lvl 50
I’m stuck on Three-Person vs Monsters of Legend, Hard Mode. Behemoth-0 takes my team out most of the time. Anyone got a good equipment/materia set up to destroy it?
Supra Evo Yes HP ups on everybody put earrings on your healer so you get a free revival make Barrett your primary fighter from a distance and make your other two stagger and heal
I spend more time setting the party's weapon and materia than doing this grinding. :(
So many materia combination and the choice becomes overwhelming when playing with 3 characters!
But with only 2 members in the battle, u can't really maximize AP gain as the materia equipped in ur 3rd character won't gain the AP.
You get double exp and triple AP after you beat the game. This game makes it very easy to max out stuff. It eliminates most grinding, and streamlines everything.

on paper? chapter 16. for sanity's sake? this. reason being, the lines shall be repeated so god damn much. and even if you mute the feckers the long run and constant reloads suuuuuuck for the chapter 16 run. but hey if you mute em and put on a podcast or something then i suppose it's fine. personally i detest the constant run to the down the stairs and the reloads so i prefere the VR missions.
Belly of the Beast by far. I highly recommend getting the level 6 weapon though as it speeds things up. I use a Cloud Triple Slash with First Strike Materia and Magnify + Fire to take out the Riot Soldiers towards the end. Hope this is helpful.

Before chapter 9, grind in that area, after completing all the side quests with Aerith.
After many tries I finally beat the monsters of legends and got bad breath also now onto the last battle
To be honest only 50 lvls made it too easy in my opinion. But that's fine cause I hate excessive grinding. I was about lvl 19 to 21 when I reached chapter 9. A few rounds in the Colosseum will easily take you to 28-31.
By the time you come back with Tifa And Barret another few rounds will get you to 40. Then start the latter chapters of the game and I was at lvl 50 by the time I was in the last chapter.

Kong Sorsinxay damn dude In chapter 9? I don’t mind grinding but that sounds horrific lmao I just got to chapter 13 and plan on grinding the rest in chapter 14, or at least until level 45. There’s no point in grinding in hard mode, you grind to sweep through hard mode in the first play through. I have most fun having the best gear/materia having everything maxed out before the end game boss and post game bosses.
imlee888 coming from mmorpg player, grinding isn’t a big deal to me. And as I state before I maxed out what I can on each chapter before moving on. I don’t like grinding after I completed the game. I want to focus on getting the rest of my trophies.
Just clear the game on easy. You get an exp, gil, and ap bonus on chapter select and you can max out everything as you're reclearing chapters. There's no need to grind at all.

If you obtain only 189 AP in 58 seconds with only two char in the team then the Combat Simulator challenge in the video is quite SLOW. The best challenge to farm for me is 3 person vs Shinra Warrriors in chapter 14 where you can clear the challenge in 10-20 seconds each and get 55 AP BEFORE completing the story. Just need to use Magnify Fira and Triple Slash to one shot everyone in easy mode. I just finished the game hours ago so i will test and update if it gives triple AP which shoud be 165 AP and you have THREE people in the team so you can equip MORE MATERIAS to level up at once (non-participant in the battle only get 80% of the earned EXP and get ZERO AP earned). 165 AP in 10-20 seconds (I get 15 sec most of the time) is way faster than 189 AP in 58 seconds shown in the video and you have THREE people compared to TWO.
You have to account for victory animation and loading time. How much you earn per minute in those cycles.

@@JorRaptor No worries. I double checked just now and yes, that 3 person vs Shinra Warriors gave 165 AP per run. The magic of this challenge is you can one shot everything with just Magnify Fira/Firaga and Triple Slash with Fire element, except for the last round. In the last round, one Magnify Firaga and triple slash should be enough to pressure/stagger them straight away and just need a little bit of extra work to clean them up.

You need to start ch1 in hard mode, to start gaining the scrolls (that level up your weapons to lv6), i´m at the middle of the game (chapter 9), some fights are tricky but elemental materia+ boss used element makes it a breeze you gain immunity to all elements (swapping defensive materia).

Chapter 1 start the weapon tier 6, you need to clear the whole game on hard to have a fully upgraded weapon lv6 for all carachters.
to get lvl6 weapons you need to be level 50 and have atleast 3 sp books for the SP required. you should have 2 sp books for Cloud, Tifa and Barret by the end of the game. Aerith one book. one for each from the moogle boy, and one for the 3 from the arena.
after chapter select is available, the arena has a fight for Aerith for a book. and the VR on mission 17 has new missions for a book each. after the arena and vr you should have lvl6 unlocked. then to max the weapons out you need to do the side quests and boss battles on hard mode as they will now drop books for the characters instead of their initial reward.
personallyi found it easier in the long run to get through the arena then the VR missions before going through hardmode itself (mainly due to the reward being insanely powerful)

This is wrong. The collapsed express way is the best way to farm AP and XP. After defeating the enemies you just wait a few minutes and they will respawn. I maxed all my materia and got to lvl 50 in one night

Post-game and even towards the end of my Normal playthrough, money became obsolete when you have maxed out materias for healing.

why’s everyone looking for xp spots? If you’re trying to platinum the game just start hard mode right after you finish the game. got to lvl 50 in 4 chapters
Yea I don't get it. If you're playing after you've beaten it then play hard or get the dresses or achievements you missed. You'll get to 50 while you do any of those
It's not for platinum. It's to max out the materias. There's no achievement for that.
If the next FF7 chapter is anything like the original game, we'll be getting "Master materia" at some point. Just getting a head start on that. :p
oh for me i tried to max out all the green materia in normal mode, and finished the game with only the revival one left at like 3538 ap
yes u dont need xp, also u dont need gil as well since u cant use items in hard mode. I dont understand as well why youtubers keep talk about xp i guess it get views? u can just do the flying quest and quit after the first part it is way faster to get ap. but it cost gil which isnt much use after first play through

Unlike every other final fantasy game, I really don’t see a point in farming for any of this stuff in ff7 remake. You can literally progress through the story on normal and hard difficulty without ever grinding and still max out on all the items, ap, and exp you’ll ever need

I don't understand why some of you are even having to discuss this. My characters, weapons and materia were maxed out before the end game because if I did miss anything it wasn't going to be the basics. Noobs.
If you’re like me and you suffer from one-punch-man syndrome, farming for XP and other points ruins games. I hate being so OP that battles lose their challenge. I love the struggle of barely beating a boss with only a few HP left.

Bit of a dispointment this game it's only 15 percent of the actual game!! Waste of 60 dollars if you ask me I completed the whole game and all 24 side quests in 23 hours
