  • This week there is no whisky in the glass but it’s more whisky for thought. As the Glasgow Whisky Festival draws nearer, only a week away, I thought I would share some dos and donts of a festvial, and maybe some tips for first timers or even seasoned festival goers, I hope this video helps a little and can give a little insight on travel and what to expect,
    As always let’s talk whisky.

A brilliant "how to" bud. I am super excited but being a bumpkin wasn't sure what the crack was with it all. Looking forward to meeting ya trouble!

Will not be able to join, unfortunately.
Enjoy the festival, the whisky and of course meet ups.

These "how to" videos are perfect for someone like myself and I got a good amount of pointers from you prior to last year's GWF. I didn't do it every time, but I was glad I took pics of the bottles I tried with my phone and the voice memos mentioned below would be even better for me👍. Much like the North Star you mentioned, I had a particular Single Grain whisky provided by Mr. Dougal Barr at the Douglas Laing booth, that seared it's impression on my mind during that festival. Couldn't rest until I found a bottle 😆 (which I did about a year later on my recent visit to Scotland ❤). Such wonderful memories buddy - Cheers 🙏

Would have been great if you were attending again and maybe find another bottle like the single grain you ended up buying… this year I’m thinking if North Star bring that Ben Nevis again. I may run away with it 😂 only a week to go and I’ll post a video the following week of how it went and my favorites again on the day. I’ll be trying more grains this time for sure too and hopefully find something that you enjoyed so much.

I always wear my Aqvavitae or another Whisky Tuber t shirt, there is always someone who is a fellow subscriber who will shake your hand and have a chat.

One tip I'd add is Voice Memos. Record audio of you saying the name of the bottle and a few notes and how much you like it.
No time to write notes and you don't want to be videoing all the time.

That’s a cracking idea. Never thought of that. I’ll be giving this a go this year round. Be great to hear them the following day and see what I made of them at the time. Slainte buddy
