Looks like a very very sloppy install . Water will definitely get in from the bottom where the grommet was removed,not even saying that wire with sharp metal rubbing is not good .
Notice he also didn’t drill holes in the pinch welds. He probably did not want to make any permanent modifications because he likely removed the kit after filming the video.
Sorry, but I have a rough country that has 3 hinge points instead of just 2, and it is cheaper. I've had them for over a year on my 2021 Ford F150 and no problems yet 🙂

It's confusing on why you tapped into the OBD port wires and plugged into the port.

He says it’s a demo install, not a permanent install, so he most likely removed it afterwards as the previous commenter pointed to 🙂

That installation is pathetic by connecting to the OBD port if you want to use the OBD port for ex a dash camera.
