- Опубликовано: 23 июл 2024
- Liftoff is now scheduled no earlier than 16:00 local time (21:00 CEST), with the live stream starting at 15:30 local time (20:30 CEST).
This is a big moment for Europe, as the rocket will ensure our guaranteed, autonomous access to space - and all of the science, Earth observation, technology development and commercial possibilities that it entails. With many features brand new to Ariane 6, we’ll be able to carry more and take it further, while sustainably disposing of the launcher's upper stage to prevent it becoming space debris.
Phase 1: From ground to orbit
The first phase of Ariane 6’s flight will launch the rocket off Earth and into space with the thrust from the main stage powered by the Vulcain engine together with the force from the two powerful P120C boosters. Phase 1 includes the separation of the main stage from the upper stage and the first boost of the upper stage’s Vinci engine, which inserts it and its passengers into an elliptical orbit 300 by 700 km above Earth.
The first flight of Ariane 6 will have three phases, each of which will demonstrate various abilities for Europe’s newest heavy-lift rocket.
Phase 2: Upper stage reignition and satellite deployment
The next phase is when Ariane 6’s newest feature is put to the test: reignition of the upper stage. In phase 2, the Vinci engine will re-fire, changing Ariane 6’s orbit from elliptical to circular. This will be followed by the deployment of the rocket’s eight satellites and the activation of its five onboard experiments.
Phase 3 : Tech demos, deorbiting and capsule separation
The final phase in Ariane 6’s inaugural flight will be to push the cryogenic upper stage to its limits and validate its ability to perform under microgravity conditions. The final phase will initiate the controlled deorbit of the upper stage back through Earth’s atmosphere over the South Pacific ‘NEMO point’, to prevent it from becoming space debris. Moments later, the two reentry capsules onboard will separate from the upper stage, and all three will make their safe descent back home.
The launch will be covered in several languages which can be followed at the links below:

Congratulations on the successful launch of Ariane 6! You deserve to be proud of your hard work and dedication to make it happen!
Congratulations from Czechia! 👍☺️🇨🇿
I had flashbacks from Ariane V testflight before launch...
But this was very good job for the first shot with a completely new system.!
Congrats ESA and greetings from Austria.
Ariane 5 isn't even close to new:
The P120 has been tested on Vega C, and the Vulcain is just an upgraded version of the engine flown on Ariane 5. The core stage shares significant design elements with Ariane 5s (same diameter, roughly same size).
The Vinci has been in development since (IIRC) 1998, and was planned as an Ariane 5 upgrade.
Still, it was an impressive first flight!
Congratulations to ESA and ArianeSpace on this splendid launch.
Awesome to be back launching European rockets again!
What engine nozzle is in your profile picture?
@@bryanillenberg Vulcain of course 🙂 It's a surplus nozzle turned into a park bench.
@@zapfanzapfan Cool! Though given how expensive that nozzle is, putting it in a bench seems like a waste (as does expending it, for that matter)
@@bryanillenberg Yeah, that must be the most expensive park bench ever. It was a leftover one from the previous generation of engine and the company used it at a space conference, it is not sitting out constantly.
@@zapfanzapfan Still... there was a huge issue when they ran out of Ariane 5s. They could have made another.
Congratulations all from NYC.
Congratulations from Bremen, Germany
Wel done! Greetings from: Rotterdam, Holland, EU, NATO/ OTAN!
At last, Europe returns to space. Congratulations, Ariane team!
Congratulations ESA! Welcome back to the space launch market.
Félicitations ESA! Bon retour sur le marché des lancements spatiaux.
Congratulations on return to space. Cant wait to watch the successful next luanch. Great broadcast. We could feel the energy over here in the states. Go ESA Go Ariane 6. 🚀
@@mariusandreas5026You are quite ignorant. Rocketry is not about the most "advanced" rocket. It is about developing a rocket which can cheaply and reliably send payloads to a desired orbit. If reusability costs more than it's worth, it won't be done. Please understand how space flight works before commenting usless things.

So very nice!! Congrats to all team! 🤩🚀
Im somewhat european but im proud of Ariane Group and ESA keep the good work🔥
Congrats on a job well done from Minnesota, USA
Great webcast! Awesome launch;! You will figure out the APU stuff
The Sound should have been better but all in all I enjoyed your Broadcast. Congratulations to whole Ariane 6 Team!
Absolument formidable !! Bravo à toute les personnes y ayant travaillées ! Quel fierté !! 🎉❤
Congrats ESA and all involved with the amazing Ariane 6 from the US
Superb flight CNES! Congrats to all at the ESA!
Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
Congrats on a great launch!
Shame about the APU anomaly just at the end.
Congratulations from my side ESA 👍
Congrats and on towards human spaceflight.
Be bold! 🎉🎉🎉
"Nominal" sounds great in any language!
How's the reusable vehicle going? I'd like to see a video on it.
Hey guys...I'm from Berlin, Germany and I saw a strange Object at the nightsky at around 11-12 pm (GMT+1). The object emitted a huge energy wave/aura around itself about every 20-25 seconds. Could this have been Ariane 6? Would it be possible to have seen this from so far away in the sky?
@@ianstomp1805 Hi, I saw similar thing that you are describing at around 12 (local time) at night in Lithuania, Vilnius
@@Varneta Same, shortly after 11 PM in Kielce, Poland.
Lucky, we had thunderstorms at that point.

Well done, AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT for its 1st flight.
You guys put SpaceX to shame
Go ahead ESA!♥️
. Congratulations 🎉
Thanks ESA! Awesome
Is the APU the auxiliary propulsion unit or the auxiliary power unit??
I think both.
It seems to be to either provide propulsion or heat up for pressure in the tanks.
And maybe also provide electricity to replenish the accu-pack.
It's used both ways. It provides pressurization of the upper stage tanks, and also is used as a thruster on orbit for course correction and ullage, and deorbit burns.
Muito bom.
Ariane 6 has launched in french guiana in south america in launch complex ariane 6 launch 🎉🎉❤❤❤ conturationalsion
Wow that rocket is really moving with a purpose . Got out to LEO quick
Yeah, it had a super light payload for this launch, so it really jumped off the pad. Would probably go a lot slower if it was af max payload.
Yes but keep in mind I believe they can strap on four boosters if needed so wow . Wonder what kinda thrust she's putting out also specific impulse numbers yet?@@benzene_sandwich
Solids+Hydrolox leaps off the pad, but once the SRBs are jettisoned, then say goodbye to TWR (it took another eighteen minutes to reach LEO. The grav-losses must have been INSANE)
@@bryanillenberg Yeah cause isn't the second stage super low TWR? The trajectory they had was stupidly innefficient to give the second stage enough time to reach orbit.
@@benzene_sandwich Yup! Starting TWR is .5. Payload would be way higher if they added a second engine to the second stage (or, for that matter, another first stage engine+airstarting)
much better the " ariane " next , your upcoming european reusable rocket 🚀, must be flight it soon to space 🌌🚀 , interesting
So, no buggy software this time...
Now you only need landing boosters and weekly launches.
The APU failed so actually if did have some buggy software/hardware.

Now time to watch it and actually comprehend it because I'm not reading the chat instead 😅bravo Arianspace ESA team space earthlings
What happened? Ship okay?
The second relight didn't happen for the reentry demo and deorbit of the third stage.
interesting , that " ariane rocket " # 6 even in 2 stages solid rocket, and test " satellite" as it's: passenger, slightly faster , amazing success,
👍
congratz ESA
Esa should work on more reusability
That's where the Themis engine will come in -- sadly still needs a few years though
Already working on them 😉👉www.esa.int/Enabling_Support/Space_Transportation/Full_ignition_for_ESA_s_reusable_rocket_engine

Oof. Sucks that the 2nd stage failed.
At least it didn’t explode
why didn´t they colaborate with spaceX?
SpaceX is an American company and unreliable in terms of space access. The American government could deny space access to Europe at any time.
Hence we have Ariane 6 which is under European control.
@@pritonce6562 what do you mean unreliable? spacex is a private company. What can the American government decide over paying space x to bring something into space? I see it like a logistics company for space transportation.
The whole point of Ariane 6 is to have a launch platform that is not dependent on countries outside Europe. So, collaboration with SpaceX would not make sense.
@@catasabau The US government can put up specific sanctions against European countries forcing SpaceX to not provide their services to them as an example. Tho SpaceX itself can deny service themself whenever Musk feels like it. And considering we are talking about Elon here anything is possible.
Also keep in mind SpaceX is a private company with its own interests. They can deny launch to any competing company for example. If a company would decide to buy Falcon launches to build a competing satellite network as an example that would be a conflict of interest which SpaceX could easily resolve by denying space access.
@@catasabau unreliable because it is dictated by Elon musk - and he character is questionable with his pattern of decisions
R.R.R.
Note: Something flew away (burst?) at T+1:52:07...
That was a bit of ice. Nothing to do with the APU failure
Maybe. But: 1) It was the only one I saw. 2) Without Atmosphere and no acceleration I'd not suppose it to be "left behind". 3) It was about the time the "distance" should have grown. 4) Shortly before the video/radio link had a break (I thought this might have been because of the ignition taking place). But on the other hand: All this might be true and the ice loosend just because the short acceleration - which soon stopped according to the press conference.
@@matthias5192 Ice boiling below the ejected piece of ice can knock it off.
make announcements in english
@@wloffy they’re based in France. It’s the same way that CNSA announces in chinese
Why should EU use a foreign language? Or Russia? Or China? Or Japan? Or India? Or Brazil?
@@anubisspace CNSA financed by China, ESA financed by all europe countries it should be english cuz of the reason
@@Just_another_Euro_dude english is most known and spokin language around the europe
@@wloffy Nonsense. EU citizens know very well the language of their neighbours. For example i know very VERY well the Italian language. Absolutely no need for some foreign non EU language to be used in the official ceremonies. And German, French, Spanish Italian and other languages WILL get MORE importance in the EU with the UK being out. For the generation of my parents here in the ex communist Europe, in ex Yugoslav region, back in the 60s and 70s German language was WAAAAY more important than English. Things could EASILY get back to where they were. Russia, China, Japan, Brazil basically already stopped using the English language. And rightfully so.

Here is sonthing to all the haters : attacking ESA and Ariane dosnt bring you anything
Why do we have so many space agencies wasting so much time money and effort duplicating each other's work? Why don't we just have the Earth Space Agency, that all countries that wish to contribute can do so.
Красавица! Наилучшего!
Why is the European Space Agency allowing private companies advertising their products and services on this channel through RUclips Ads??? This is against the EU law using EU-financed projects (this RUclips channel) to make money for private companies without proper tender! This RUclips Channel must not be allowed any private company RUclips Ads running on it!
We don't run Ads on our content on RUclips! Currently there is a copyright claim on this livestream which make you see the Ads and the money goes directly to the music creator. We are working on solving this issue as soon as possible.
@@EuropeanSpaceAgency Sorry, not true. There was HelloFresh, Amazon and other advertisers like an online video games company ad (I don't remember the company name) that are interrupting this video. Log out from your account and watch your the full video and you'll see. In your RUclips creator space you need to block all ads, otherwise you are breaking EU Law allowing these advertisers making money from the ESA content running such RUclips channel under the name European Space Agency.
